President Trump says TikTok will have an additional 75 days to sell to a non-China-based company before facing a ban in the U.S. The ByteDance-owned app originally had until today to divest from its parent company.
Trump has also announced that the date of the TikTok ban will be extended. He said on social
media that he'll be signing an executive order to extend the deadline another 75 days. TikTok
originally had until Saturday to sell to a non-China-owned company or face a ban in the
United States. On Thursday, Trump said U.S. tariffs could play a role in the TikTok situation.
China will probably say, we'll approve a deal,
but will you do something on the tariffs? The tariffs give us great power to negotiate.
