Hello everyone, this is Gina.
Today I'm going to show you how to make this little bracelet.
It looks a bit like it's braided.
I'll just call it a braided pearl bracelet.
It's very easy.
We only use a few glass beads, Rocaillis and double beads to achieve this really pretty effect.
It's pretty easy, goes pretty fast and just looks really good.
So this is what it looks like.
I'll go back a bit and put it on my wrist so you can see what it looks like on my wrist.
Then we'll look at the material list.
So this is what it looks like.
A very pretty bracelet.
This is what the closure looks like.
Let's take it off and take a closer look at the parts.
Then it's good.
I'll get you in here so you can see them.
I think it just looks really good.
So that's what we're going to make today.
Let's look at the material list and get started.
Okay, for today's project we're going to use round glass beads with a diameter of 6 mm.
For a bracelet with a diameter of about 18 cm you need 9 pieces.
Then we use round beads with a diameter of 3 mm.
I have cream-white beads for the round size of 6 mm
and these copper-colored bronze beads for the round size of 3 mm.
You need about 24 of them.
Then I use a 4 mm big bicone in the color peach.
This is from Swarovski.
Of course you can use any other brand.
This is peach colors.
I have about 18 of them.
Then we use roca-alice.
We use two colors of 15 o roca-alice.
I have a rose gold from Toho and an antique bronze.
I also use 80 o pearls.
I use the color rose gold and the color 11 o in rose gold.
They are all from Toho.
I use a pearl needle size 12 and a nail clasp.
I also use a 2.7 kg strong thread.
It should not be thicker than 2.7 kg,
because the pearls are often used.
So you need a small needle and a thread with a thin diameter.
So thread about 1.25 to 1.5 m thread on the needle.
You have to extend the thread during the process.
I will link to a video in the info field under the video player,
that shows you how you can extend your thread if you do not know that.
So let's start threading our needles and get started.
We start this project by taking a 6 mm glass bead.
Then we take 4 roca-alice size 11 o and I use my color rose gold here.
And then I take an 8 o roca-alice.
Then I take a 15 o in rose gold.
And then a 4 mm biconi.
And then a 15 o. So you should have that.
You should have a round 6 mm bead, 4 11 o,
an 8 o, a 15 o, a 4 mm biconi and a 15 o.
Then we bring that to the end of the thread.
Hold this bead and your other beads, so that everything is secure.
You do not have to leave a long thread, but you should leave a long one to knot.
Make a knot.
And to hold it, just go back into the bead.
Hold this thread. Hold your bead.
Lead your needle through and pull these beads around the bead as follows.
Now we sew through this whole little bead chain,
which we have just threaded here.
So, when we come out of the bead, we go into the 11 o, s.
And I have taken 3. I just take the 4th when I come back.
So, I just pull carefully, because I don't want to pull it from my bead here.
And then I go through the 11 o, the 8 o and this biconi here.
Pull a little on my end thread.
Bring everything together.
And then I go into this 15 o here.
Now I have positioned this so that my end thread and my working thread are at the same place.
So I want to take my working thread, cross it over my end thread
and then pull my end thread twice through the resulting loop.
And we're going to make a little knot here to secure everything.
We're just going to bring this between the bead and the 15 o.
Pull it tight.
And that's what you have.
Now we go back to this bead.
This is what it looks like.
Let me reposition my camera a little.
And now we're going to make another bead overlay on this side of the bead.
But we want to do the opposite of what we have here.
So we want to start with the crystal, the 15 o crystal, 15 o up here on this side.
So we're going to take the 15 o crystal, 15 o, 8 o, and then we're going to take four 11 o's, just like this one.
And in this way, it will be exactly opposite the one that is already on it.
We're going to go back into the bead from the opposite side and just pull this around the bead until it's like this.
Now we're going to sew back through here to secure it.
So I'm going to go into the 15 o and the crystal and the 15 o behind it.
Then I'm going to go into these 8 o's and see if I can get all four of these 11 o's.
Yes!
And pull my thread through.
And then go back into my bead.
Right here.
Pull both at the end and at the working thread.
And that's what I have.
Now I'm coming out of this bead here.
I want to make a decoration that is over these four 11 o's.
So we're going to get our layered look of beads on this side, where the four o's are, where the 11 o's are.
And then we're going to put the other decoration on the other side.
So we're going to put beads over the 11 o's.
We're going to do this by starting with our accentuated 15 o's.
So I'm using my antique bronze and I'm going to take six of them.
So I have six 15 o's here on my needle.
I'm going to cross them over and go into these 8 o's.
But I want to go into the 8 o on the other side.
So I want to go to the side of the 8 o, where the 15 o is, not where the 11 o's are.
So I'm going all the way over here and go into these 8 o's like this.
Now I'm straightening it out so you can see which way I'm coming from.
Just like that.
And then I pull this down here and put it over the bead.
Now you see how I pull my thread forward.
And you see that I have a small gap between these four 11 o's and the 15 o's.
I'm coming out of this 8 o.
And I'm going to put a couple of beads between these two little strings that I just made.
So I'm going to take three 11 o's.
And I'm going to use my original color here, my rose gold.
Of course, I only have 11 o's in one color.
So it doesn't matter.
But we're going to take three 11 o's.
And we're going back to the bead.
Just straight through this bead here.
And pull it down.
Now I want to make sure that I align this thread so that it fits in here very nicely.
Just like that.
And just arrange them so that they look really pretty.
Now I come out of the bead here and have to apply the same kind of decoration on this side.
So we start with our six 15 o's in the color bronze.
And we're going to cross them over and go to this side of the 8 o's, the 15 o's next to it.
And my cat just jumped on my desk.
Guys, so, M, yes, there she is.
There's her ear.
We pull this down and arrange it.
There we have it.
My cat will sit next to us and watch.
Hopefully she'll stay out of the picture here.
Now we have our little 15 o's here.
We come out of this 8 o.
We have a gap between this 11 o and the 15 o.
We fill these by taking three 11 o's on our needle.
And then we prick right into the bead.
So you have 15 o and 11 o on each side.
You want to prick right between this 11 o and 15 o into the bead.
Right there.
Just like that.
And pull this down here.
And again, you have to arrange them.
They're not just lying around nicely.
You just have to arrange them and position them so that they look pretty.
Pull your thread tight.
Make sure everything is nice.
And it should look like this.
Now we have to sew the original 15 o's to get into this 8 o.
So I come out of the bead.
I don't go through the 15 o, but through the 11 o.
I'm sorry.
The original four on the back of the device here.
We're going to go up all four.
Well, maybe. Come on.
And then into the 80 o here.
And here we are.
Now we're going to take an 11 o.
And then we're going to take an 8 o.
And we're going to leave it on this 11 o or on the 8 o.
My goodness, my 8 o and 11 o are just not right today.
Okay, so I'm coming out of this 8 o.
And now I'm going to put on my buckle.
So I'm going to go through the loop of my buckle and bring it to the 8 o.
And then I'm going to go back to this 8 o.
Ignore the 11 o I put on.
Hold the 8 o tight and pull my thread through and pull my buckle up to the 8 o.
Then I take an 11 o.
And so I sew on the opposite side of the 8 o.
So I sew here in the 80 o and only in the 8 o.
Ignore everything else on both sides and pull the whole thing down.
Now I arrange everything so that it is really nice and tidy.
And you should have that now.
Now we just sew through the whole thing again.
So we sew through the 11 o and the 8 o and here in the loop.
Pull the thread through.
Then around the loop back to the 8 o and 11 o on the other side.
Just like that.
Pull the thread through.
And then again through the 8 o.
Now I pull nice and tight.
Because if you do that, you can loosen everything a bit.
But you can also tighten everything again by pulling a bit at the end of the thread and at the working thread.
And if your decoration then somehow turned out to be strange, you can now bend it straight again.
Because we're going to break it somehow.
Now we sew twice through this fastening for the closure.
So just sew exactly as I just showed you.
And when you're done, we're going to pull out this 80-degree ruffle and come back and continue with our next element.
Okay.
Now I have strengthened my closure and come out of this 8-degree ruffle here, where I have fastened the closure.
Now I cut off this end.
Make sure you've tightened everything.
Everything looks good.
And I just cut off this end.
And then we come out of this 80-degree ruffle, which we are attached to,
and work our way through this entire element by going into the 15-degree and then into the crystal here.
Pull that through.
I'm going to go all the way down to this little 80-degree ruffle down here.
But I want to get through the next 15-o and then through the four original 11-o down here.
So I just pull everything through and just go through these four 11-o.
And those are the ones at the original beginning of the unit.
And then I just go into the 80-o down here.
Right there.
Pull my thread through.
And now I'm ready to make a little extension and then my next unit.
To make this extension, I take a round 3 mm bead and then an 8-o and then another round 3 mm bead.
And I go to the opposite side of this 80-degree ruffle, from which I come.
So I just go into this one here and pull it down.
And now I have this little unit.
I have to reinforce it.
So I'm going to sew through every single bead until I get back to the 80-degree ruffle bead, which I want to attach to.
So I'm going to sew through this 80-o bead here.
And now I'm going to decorate this unit a little with another 3 mm bead.
So it looks like a collection between the units.
So I'm going to take a 15-o bead in my bronze color, then a 3 mm round bead and then a 15-o bead in my bronze color.
And I'm going to go from this 80-o bead directly to the opposite 80-o ruffle bead on the same side, just like that.
And I'm just going to put it on this little unit and arrange it.
Pull a little on my thread.
And then I'm going to take another 15-r bead and go back to the bead that we attach up here.
I'm just going to hold on to it.
Pull my thread through and pull it a little tight until we get to the next step here.
The next 15-o. They're going to be a little loose and strange.
So I'm going to take another 15-o and go through the opposite side of the 8-o, which I started with here.
Pull it down.
And I just make sure that all 15-o are nicely arranged.
It looks like little ruffles would hold them like that.
Now I'm going from the 80-o, to which I have attached everything, to the side bead here.
I'm going to adjust my tension again and make sure that everything looks nice.
Place my beads exactly where I want them.
And then I go into this 80-o ruffle bead here.
Now we are ready to start with another of our units.
So we come out of this 80-o ruffle bead here.
Now we want to make sure that we make the units the same.
So we want to arrange them in the same way, with the decorations on this side and the crystals on this side.
So since we come from this side of the 80-o, we start with the decoration of the 15-o and then the 4 mm bicone and then the 15-o.
After you've recorded that, we're going to take a bead, a round 6 mm bead.
And then we're going to drop this here.
And we're going to record 4 11 mm Roca Illis in the color rose gold here.
And we're going to go to the opposite side of the 80-o, to which we attach it.
So we're going to go here and go through here.
Pull our thread through and pull it up.
Just like that, we have half of our unit.
We have to reinforce that of course, so that it's nice and secure.
So I come from the 80-o.
I go into the 15-o bicone 15-o.
Pull that through.
Go into the bead, into the 4 11 o Roca Illis here.
And back into the 80-o Roca Illis here.
I go all the way through these three beads and then into the bead, so that we can make the other half of the unit.
So we make the upper half, then the lower half and then we bring on our decorations.
So I went along these three beads.
Now I go into the bead and have to make the lower half of the decoration, which is the opposite of what we did at the top.
So we start with the 15-o bicone 15-o and so we have arranged it so that the bicones are here and then our 11-o here.
So we have the opposite on each unit.
Now we go on.
We have the 15-o, the big conus, the 15-o.
We now take an 8-o.
So we take a bead at the top.
At the bottom we take an 8-o between our two rows of beads here.
So our next row is the 4 11 o Roca Illis.
So you should have that on your needle.
And then you go to the opposite side of the bead.
Pull that down.
And then we go on and sew through and reinforce that.
So we go through all the beads that we have just threaded, come out of the bead and go into these three beads here.
Then I go into the 8-o.
And if I can, I go through all four of the 11-o, just like that.
And then back.
Into my bead here and avoid the 11-o and 15-o on the other side.
Just go through the bead like that.
Now we make our decoration.
So we want to put our decoration over the 11-o every time.
So remember, no matter how you get out of your bead, you go to the 8-o, which you can cross and put on the opposite side.
So that will be up here.
So we start by taking 6 15-o Roca Illis in the color bronze.
We come out of the bead.
We will cross over the top of the bead.
Go to the opposite side of the 8-o.
So we go to the other side, which would be here next to the 15-o Roca Illis, this side, and pull it over the top of the bead.
Arrange it nicely.
Then pull your thread so that it is between the two small rows of 11-o and 15-o, because you want to place your next one right in between.
So we take 3 11-o Roca Illis and go back to the bead.
So we come out of this 8-o.
We have 3 11-o's.
We go into the bead.
Make sure that you do not touch any other beads when you pull through the bead, but only the bead.
Pull these 3 11-o's down.
Arrange them so that they are between the 15-o's and the original 11-o's on your device here.
Then simply slide them where they look good.
Hold your device firmly and pull it lightly.
Make sure that everything lies exactly as you want it.
And now we come out of this bead.
We have to apply the same decoration here.
So we go from the bead to the other side of this 8-o Roca Illis, the side next to the 15-o.
So we take 6 11-o Roca Illis in our bronze color.
Look, I have 6.
And now I'm going to go all the way over and turn my device and go to this side of this 80-degree angle here.
I'll hold it so you can see the angle I'm in.
Here we are again in the camera.
And I'm just going to pull that over the bead and arrange my beads.
Pull my thread a little forward.
And now I'm going to put 3 11-o's between the 15-o's and the 11-o's on my device.
So I'm going to take 3 11-o's and go straight back to the bead.
Whereby I avoid all the beads on both sides, just go to the bead and pull it down.
Now you have to arrange it. Sometimes it goes backwards. It does weird things.
So you just have to arrange it so that these 3 beads between the 15-o and 11-o land on your original.
Now I've messed up my other decoration a little.
But if I just hold the bead now and pull on my thread,
I can re-create the tension in the previous decoration here and arrange everything nicely and neatly, just as I want it.
And then I sew through these beads again to get to the lower end of the element.
So I go out of the bead.
I go through the 15-o and the bicone here.
And then I go through the next 15-o and the 8-o and leave the 8-o rocaillis right here.
I go a little closer here so that you can see it.
And I pull it through.
And again I will tighten everything.
Make sure it looks good before I continue with the next part, because otherwise I can't tighten my decorations.
So, everything looks pretty good.
I take a 3 mm bead.
And then I take an 8-o and a 3 mm bead to make my little extension between the units here.
Now, where I have these three, I go to the opposite side of the 8-o, from which I come, and only the 8-o.
Just like that.
Pull it down.
Pull it lightly and then sew through again.
It is very important to keep the tension well and to adjust the decorations over and over again.
Otherwise they become loose and weird and it doesn't look the way you want it to.
It won't look nice and neat and organized.
Okay. Now I've secured my little extension.
I'm going to add a decoration to it.
So I take a 15-o in my bronze color and then my round 3 mm bead and go from this 8-o directly into this one and pull it down.
Push it over the top of this tiny unit there.
Then I take another 15-o.
Go through the bead we just added. Just like that.
Hold this bead tight.
Pull this 15-o down so that it lies directly under the bead you just added.
Take another 15-o and go to the 80-o on the opposite side, from which we started.
So the one we attach to the opposite side and pull it down.
Now just make sure that you arrange them nicely so that the 15-o look nice,
the bead looks nice and then go from the 8-o to the bead on the side and then to this 80-o here.
We'll do another unit and then it will all repeat completely and you can rewind.
In the video you can just watch until you have the turn with each unit out.
So we're coming out of this 80-o rocaillis here.
We take the ornament or the original unit.
Since we come out of this side and can look at the previous unit,
we know that the 11-o are the first on this side of the unit.
We will first take our 11-o.
So we're going to take four 11-o rocaillis.
Then we're going to take a bead.
Then we're going to take a 15-o.
Excuse me.
My goodness.
A 15-o and then our B code.
Compare them with one hundred and fiftieth.
So that means that we have three 11-o.
Our 6 mm bead 15-o becomes 15-o.
That will always be the upper half of your unit.
Then we will go through the 80-o on the opposite side,
from which we started, just like that.
Pull this down into a unit like this
and then start sewing through again.
So I leave the 8-o.
I go into the four 11-o in the 6 mm round
and then into the beads on this side
and back into the bead in which I started.
Now I have to go all the way down
and back into my bead,
so that I can do the other side.
So we go into these four here and then into our bead.
As soon as we are in the bead,
we have to do the decoration or the other half of the unit.
So we know that we want to do exactly the opposite of what we have done here.
So we start with the 11-o-s.
Take four 11-o-s
and then we take our 8-o rocailles.
So at the bottom of the unit,
you take your four 11-o-s,
then your bead.
Now we take our four 11-o-s on the lower half.
Then we take an 8-o,
then we take a 15-o and a crystal and a 15-o.
Although the order is the same,
it is in reverse order on the bead.
So we go to the opposite side of the bead,
just like here,
and pull them down.
Now you can see that we have the order right.
And we sew again through all these beads,
which we have just set up.
So I go through these four 11-o-s
and then I go through the 8-o, the 15-o and the crystal.
I go through these 15-o
and back into my bead here.
So now we know
that we want to put the decoration over the 11-o.
So we have to start with the lower half of the unit here,
because if we tried here,
we would put the decoration over the double cone.
We don't want that.
So whether you start at the bottom or top of the unit
depends on where your thread comes out of this particular unit
when you are done with the reinforcement.
So we come out of the bead
and take our 6-15-o-s.
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
and then I put it over the bead
and go to the opposite side of the 8-o,
so the side that is closest to the 15-o.
I go to this side of my 80-o,
which then puts the bead.
Beads at the top, like here.
Now I come out of my 80-o again.
I will bring my thread forward
so that it places my beads in my next small step here correctly.
I will now take 3 11-o's
and I go back to the bead.
So I come out of the 8-o.
I go to the bead.
I now bring them down
and make sure that they line up nicely between the beads here.
They should be between the 15-o's
and the original 11-o's on the unit.
I arrange them until they look nice.
Now I leave the beads
and have to decorate these 11-o's.
We now take our 6-15-o's
in bronze or in the accent color.
I have my 6-15-o's here.
I put them up here in this 8-o
on which the unit is attached
on the side of the 15-o.
I try to avoid the 11-o's on the other side.
Sometimes it takes a second
because my needle wants to go through these 11-o's
and I don't want that.
So now I have my 15-o's.
I pull them over now
and arrange them until they are nicely above the bead.
Then I get my thread,
pull it forward
so that it is between these two small segments
and take 3 11-o's on my needle.
Then I prick directly into the bead again.
Oops, sorry.
I avoided all the beads on the other side.
I just wanted to make sure
that I go through the bead cleanly.
Then I have to arrange them
so that they are nicely between the original 11-o's
and the 15-o's
that I just put up.
There we have it.
Now we have our decoration.
Our unit is ready.
We leave the bead.
We go into the original 4 11-o's
and move along the unit
to the 8-r bead at the very bottom
and only to the 8-r bead.
Make sure that you don't thread anything else.
Pull everything tight.
Make sure that everything is arranged
as you would like it to be.
And then take a 11-o's
or, sorry,
take a 3 mm round bead,
an 8-o's
and a 3 mm round bead.
Then you go to the opposite side
of the 8-o's
from which you come out
and avoid the beads
on both sides of this 8-o's.
Just go through the 8-o's
and pull these beads down.
And then we will reinforce them.
So we will sew through all three.
Here, hopla!
And in here.
Then into this one here.
Back to the 80-o here.
And then we will attach
our ornament on top.
So take a 15-o's
and a 3 mm round bead.
Of course, this can be this upper one.
It could be a small crystal.
This extension could also
be a small crystal.
It doesn't necessarily have to be a bead,
but whatever you want.
Then we come out of this 80-o.
We go to the 80-o
at the bottom on the same side
from which we come out
of this other 80-o.
And then we take 15-o
and go back to the bead
that we just added.
Push them through.
Pull these 15-o's down.
Take another 15-o
and go through the opposite side
of the 8-o
that we are attaching.
And then arrange everything
because these beads
can fall to the side.
You can do all kinds of crazy things.
Arrange them nicely
and neatly.
Make sure
that your ornament
is nice and firm.
And then go into this bead
here.
If something has fallen through
now, even the previous ones,
you can tighten it
and then go into the 80-o
and start with your next unit.
So you start
because you come out
of this side.
You have to have
the 850-o
and then the Bicone 15-o
and then your 411-o
to start
with your next unit.
And just refer
to your previous units
so that you know
in which order
you will attach
your ornaments
or parts of your unit.
So you can rewind the video
and watch it a few times
before you start.
So you will end
with a real unit here.
My armband will be
about 7.7 and 1.5 inches long.
I will measure it for you here
because the shape
and the size of your lock
will make a difference
in length.
Let me try
to find my ruler here.
I measure half of my bead
and at this point
I have 6.5 inches.
Is it 6.5?
Yes, it is 6.5.
So I count
the end here
and then probably
come to 7.25 x 7.5 inches.
This gives you
a kind of reference point
for your length
when you make
the same number
of units
that I have made.
Of course, your lock
will always affect
the length of your lock.
So I come out
of this 80 o'clock bead
after I have made
my very last unit
and sew around
as if I were
putting an extension
between my units.
And instead of doing that,
I will finally
take an 11 o'clock bead
and an 8 o'clock bead
and drop them
on the 8 o'clock bead
and take two
80 o'clock beads
for it.
They lengthen the whole
a little
so that this end
of my lock
fits through
the round end
of the bead.
So I have my
two 8 o'clock beads
there.
I will lead them
through the loop.
Then I will go
to the other side
of the 8 o'clock bead
and now we will
sew through a few times.
So we come out
of this 8 o'clock bead
here.
I only go through
the 11 o'clock bead
on this side.
I go through
the two 8 o'clock beads
and my lock.
I go down
probably even twice
just to make sure
that my lock is really
secure.
We come back
and knot the thread
and have a bracelet.
Okay,
so I have secured
my lock.
I come out
of the 80 o'clock bead
here.
After the safety stitch
I turn my bracelet
around.
So we go directly
under these 4 11 o'clock beads
between the ones
that are directly
over here.
Make a small loop.
Go through this loop
and then position them
between these two beads.
Make a knot in the thread
exactly between this
8 o'clock bead
and this 4 11 o'clock bead
and then I just sew
them together.
I go between the bead
and the 4 11 o'clock bead
on the small piece of thread
that holds these two together.
I go under it,
make a loop,
pull it through the loop,
make a knot and then pull it
through my bead.
And just to be sure,
I go through these 4 here.
Then I cut the thread
and leave a small piece
left.
I now go close
to the flame.
Just roll it in like this.
I'll show you
what we did.
I try it on
and see what
came out of it.
First we measure it
to see what we did
exactly.
We have a bracelet
of about 18 cm diameter.
I put it on my wrist
so you can see it.
And now
clean the beads
out of the way.
Then you can see
what it looks like.
It's really a pretty
little bracelet
and it's really
not that hard.
Just take your time
and make sure
that all the decorations
sit well.
That's the main thing
about this tutorial.
Take a look at it.
Put it on for yourself.
Go close
so you can see the units.
And done!
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial
and a happy new year
and all the best!
See you at the next tutorial.
Bye!
