REACTION | COVENTRY CITY vs CARDIFF CITY

For the first 25-30 minutes it was a real difficult game for us. We made changes and tweaks to the system which I think helped us to control them a little bit better. And then once we'd done that, second half we came out and I thought we took the game to them, we showed good control of the game, took the lead and it should have been enough really to go and win it. Potentially maybe create a little bit more to score the third but I think we were worthy of a 2-1 win there if I'm honest. It's a tight turnaround in a couple of days to work with the players and try and get some basics into the game. I saw some, particularly in the first half, some of the way we played through the lines and moved the ball pretty well. Scored a good goal having gone 1-0 down which is obviously a disappointment. But yes, things we can improve, that's normal today. Good character, good impact from the subs. This is the Championship, we get a point and we move on. We played well I think even the last game against QPR although the result we did play well as a team. We're getting back to where we were before when we were winning and we went unbeaten in a lot of games but we're just trying to get back there. Today was one step closer, we should have got the win, we wish we got the win but we've just got to keep fighting for it. He did a great goal today, he struck one from outside the box. I think he can do it a lot more. I think all our midfielders can do that a lot more. We're trying to work on things to have those openings to be able to do that. It was a lovely goal. Good strike, very happy to get a goal but to draw the game like that I think was a terrible decision from the referee. We've got to move on from that but to draw the game like that is just devastating. Like I said, I thought second half we were deserving of the lead. I thought we'd done enough defensively, we were solid, we were resilient. I think we maybe could have tidied up the little bits before it got to that point for the cross and the penalty which is something we have to consider and keep working on. But in general I think we've got a point, we have to take that and we have to move forward into the Watford game. Love being at home. The fans are great. Hopefully they just keep sticking with us and we need to keep trying to get results and that's what we're trying our best to. We've come to a team today who have got a plethora of players there who are a good side and we matched them today so we have to continue working hard and try and get those performances more often. Yes, sure. We've got a great team. If you go through our team on paper and even when you watch our games you know we've got a great squad with great individuals and I think we're starting to play well together again. We had a little dip but we'll get back and I think definitely we can.
