Come on boys, I can't believe it people. Somebody be like I need to slap myself, I need to pinch myself. I can't believe I'm saying this but Arsenal won. Manchester City nil. I'm proud of my boys easily the best performance of the season based on the result really and truly just based on the result Is it probably our cleanest defensive and offensive performance? You could argue defensively, but generally no But anytime you beat City that takes precedent, you know We're struggling for clean sheets and we keep one against Manchester City with Harlan big up Gabriel and Saliba, you know I don't even know where to start. I still can't believe this I would love to see us one day get into that position where people like myself and obviously Arsenal fans out there We're not as shocked to be in Manchester City because this is the realm we want to be in now I'm happy because we defeated ourselves and what I mean by that is a lot of the time against City Obviously, there's a golfing class and all of that jazz But it feels like the games are won and lost before a bulls being kicked to it It feels like you know, you need to have that healthy respect for a team But it's like it's almost like we have an inferiority complex and I don't think that was the case today I definitely in the second half of bill initially there was a bit of nerves with some of the passing I think on another day Ryan's passing needs to be a lot better, but I think there was a bit of nerves But I think as the game grew we started to settle and we weren't amazing and flying out of blocks But we were holding our own second half for me Brilliance because it seemed like something was said in the dressing room and there was a lot more fire Intensity desire to get a performance and I can't ask a single question of anything of anybody Sorry connected to Arsenal Football Club. Mikel Arteta big bollocks today, you know big risk big reward How do you have lost? You know the talking points that would have been said about that lineup the decision to back to to bring on to start Georginio Justified, you know the decision to go with a Zeus on the right justified because a Zeus probably has a claim to be man of the match The decision to bring on Martinelli when you did at halftime people get onto his subs Justified when Pep Guardiola made three subs He also made three subs and it was lovely to see Thomas Partey Tommy Yasu Kai Havertz and Martinelli all all link up essentially all four subs, you know Obviously three came on after Martinelli And actually Tommy Yasu's role was quite interesting because we was going long We was going long the whole game at times But Tommy Yasu was kind of like becoming like a striker off that inverted channel and what a pass that was from Partey Lovely to see Kai Havertz has had an impact off the bench as well and a bit of assist Obviously, there's a touch of fortune with the Martinelli deflected off Ake. Had he not have had long hair as always say cut your hair Maybe that doesn't happen who really cares that we managed the game. Well, I was shocked in the second half There were moments where you know They've got all 11 players in their own box 10 men behind the ball. I was freaking raw like this really happening So I'm very proud of my boys, man. You know, it's not a game where it's here to say individuals played amazing It's like it was a game for hard work and grafting of course City are gonna put you under pressure and I'd also say big up Declan Rice because while Martinelli is the poster boy and the Hero and stuff like that early doors in the first half Declan Rice clears an effort off the line I don't know where Raya was diving in that game So I think Mikel Arteta everything you did justified 10 out of 10 players can't ask anything more Of course individually there were some moments we could have done a bit better on another day I do think both managers would probably want more of a tempo in this game on another day You know there probably needs to be a lot of shots that it was quite a low-key affair really and truly in that regards and Obviously, I think we played out from the back Well, but City are fantastic on the board a very fantastic off it and there was times where I wouldn't quite say they stifled us But they stopped us from consistently sustaining and better yet linking up Defense to midfield and playing that kind of zippy football and also we did at times couldn't really break them down if I'm honest with You so, you know I'd say the next step for us is going into games where it's not that much of a shock to our school fans and the Footballing community if you go and win games like this, obviously to pop off some more shots as well But we struggle for clean sheets at the Emirates. We go and get one against City. Football is crazy people Football is very crazy. As I said, the only thing I would say early doors I think there was some nervy touches and nervy passes and stuff like that. But naturally as the game went on I think we kind of grew. Yes, City are lacking players and on another day with the individual brilliance of Kevin and Rodri It's a different game, but we also are missing players as well. Martinelli and Partey couldn't start You know There is no Bakayo Saka and you know I'm probably missing out one or two and who is probably more able to cope with their key players Quote-unquote not being there not being fit enough to start us or a team like Manchester City. It's the latter in it So yeah, man There were some hearing Hearing mouth moments in the first half obviously where Raya was taking an eternity and Alvarez tried to pick his pocket as I mentioned Declan Rice off the line But I did like how we managed the end of the first half as well at halftime I was thinking it was more of a chess match. We need to create and start taking chances You know again when you lot can tell me why Kovacic was not sent off Let me know if you don't think it was a straight red-grey But he's on a yellow and he's made a mad tackle like that I've seen that happen to Jota that happened Tomi Asu was judged unfairly for less than that at Crystal Palace away And I'm sure the same referee was the guy I could be wrong that booked Martinelli What was it against Leeds away from home two quick bookings early doors? So it didn't really make sense if I'm completely honest with you I did think they were City were kind of lacking in a bit of invention in their playing It felt like they maybe there's tired legs But there was a there was a lack of that typical City threat and they weren't playing with the same sharpness and intensity But as for them, I don't really care about that really and truly, you know, you know City off the ball They're gonna be a great team and I think we deserved it really I think second half I was proud man first ten minutes of that second half we came firing out the blocks I was very very impressed with us. We came fliering flying out the blocks There was a lot of belief Odegaard started to come into it Jesus worked his socks off all game As I said all the subs that played were well Gabriel and Saliba together kept Harlan quiet Benjamin white bloody good game Raya generally and everything that was demanded he did well I can't ask anything more of my players. They've got the result the collective one today, but we still lost the last 12 You know, it's 12-1 now. We've won one game against them now. They've won the last 12 So it's about making this a standard now This shows that we can defeat ourselves and we can have some belief and equipped ourselves in games like this against the likes of City in The league but now we need to go and prove it everything Mikel Arteta and his coaching staff did today worked pick them up You know, it's neither here nor there from my perspective if City were good or not good and things like that They're gonna have to deal with that for themselves, but generally fantastic day at the office man Can't complain about anything You know, it's lovely to win. It's lovely to bounce back from the disappointment in the Champions League It's obviously lovely to get three points off on the board and the clean sheet and points off your rivals what we've had three top six clashes now and There were elements we could have done better against Manchester United at the Emirates a hundred percent We shot ourselves in the foot against Spurs But we didn't lose and we've now come out the City game There's we still gotta go to the Etihad still gotta go Old Trafford still gotta go Anfield still gotta go White Hart Lane Generally in the last few years, we haven't always traveled well to these places and there's still a hunt a whole bunch of difficult games So we enjoy today. We enjoy tonight We go into the international break in good spirits Those of the players that are traveling with their countries and playing in whatever they're playing in Tuesday I'd assume you're in tomorrow for a recovery session Tuesday. They had four so it was quite of a close one and it you know I thought I think many people including myself, but this is potentially where this quote-unquote unbeaten early form it sees us Sees us end and it was lovely for me to see rice or the garden party on the pitch at the same time It's no coincidence that their manner on the pitch we get our goal Lovely to win and I'm happy for Mikel Arteta because people obviously managers are gonna get things wrong But from the season started at various points He's shown he will make difficult decisions and play on popular players in unpopular positions and have unpopular Formation and make us unpredictable really and truly so yeah, man, you know by the times the city game comes around next You know, it's only gonna be heightened and things but isolated to today I don't think there's a single Arsenal fan who cannot be happy We've got a clean sheet. We've got three points. We bounce back for the Champions League disappointment We've taken more points off our rivals see have lost the last two in the league right now I did think he's who's had a good little battle with their left back as well again I think the most talking point away from us was how coveted somehow wasn't sent off I'm sure we had a penalty shot as well But if I can't remember it can't be too much of a shout So it's lovely, you know that we was hard done by at times by the ref But we still kept it going really and truly. I'm proud of my team really and truly. I'm very proud I think this performance for me is better than when we beat Bournemouth 4-0 obviously Respectfully and when we beat PSB in the opening game in the Champions League just because the emotions the intensity the formations all of it Is heightened I did feel initially it was like a chess match with both teams not really giving much away But it shows we can equip ourselves, but it needs to become the standard now I know we're not gonna win every game every week But things did that same desire and intensity especially in the last 10 minutes where you're knackered really and truly It was there. Happy to see Martinelli I think his performance deserved it. A couple of stray passes in the second half mind you But I think his performance deserved it. He come in at the right time He was you know, he's a live wire Martinelli and if it was gonna be one man It was gonna be him. So happy for the boys man.
