Nästan 100 demonstranter har gripits efter att ha stormat lobbyn i Trump Tower på Manhattan. De samlades för att protestera mot gripandet av Mahmoud Khalil, en pro-palestinsk aktivist som för närvarande riskerar deportation av USA:s departement för inrikes säkerhet, (DHS).

The demonstration was organized by Jewish Voice for Peace, which describes itself as a progressive Jewish anti-Zionist group.
The New York police stated that they had arrested 98 people suspected of illegal entry, obstruction and resistance to arrest.
Some of them were pulled out of the building with handcuffs. Khalil is presently in custody at an ICE facility in Louisiana.
Khalil, who was born and raised in Syria, was one of the main leaders of the pro-Palestinian demonstration at Columbia University last year.
According to reports, Khalil was involved in the UN organization for Palestinian refugees, an organization that has been examined for possible links to the Hamas terrorist group.
The Trump administration recalled Khalil's green card for national security reasons.
In an entry on True Social, President Trump wrote,
If you disturb terrorism, you are fighting your presence against our national and foreign political interests, and you are not welcome here.
