On the tour of the island, I got to see some incredible things.
I got to see where my brother went to school, where my family lived, and I even got to see
where I was born.
For the first time in my life, I finally knew where I came from.
Dear Dan Matthews, I'm writing to share the information of your birth family.
You may also find that your brother Ji-Syong is actually your twin brother.
What?
Is there anybody got, are you listening?
Cause something in my life is damn sure been missing.
Was never searching for but seems like I found it.
To be now surrounded by something I had doubted.
And when they told me mixed feelings and sorrow, sleep on it I thought, comprehend it tomorrow.
But with tomorrow came no answers, no time to process.
To ingest what had just happened so what I'm at it's best.

Back in Seoul, the conference was coming to a close.
I had made a lot of really good friendships.
We were all going back to our homes in different parts of the world,
and I might not ever see any of them again.
They had helped me go through one of the biggest moments of my life,
so it was a really tough time saying goodbye to them
on the final day of the conference.
After the brunch, I got a surprise visit from someone from the adoption agency.
Jason, you've got to read this.
You're related to Bernie?
This is the last piece.
It was really nice getting the paperwork from the woman from the adoption agency
because it kind of solidified the entire week for me.
Tonight's going to be one of the biggest performances of my life,
but I'm really worried.
I'm emotionally beaten down. I'm sick.
My voice is a wreck.
I'm really hoping that this isn't a disaster.
That's my sister, my biological sister.
My biological sister.
So this is my biological brother.
This is Veronica.
This is my biological sister.
All right, we got to go soundcheck?
Dan!

D-d-d-d-d-d-d-dan!
Can I get more of me in the monitors?
Your voice?
Yeah, my voice. Thank you.
Do you want to get on that forever young just one time?
No, I'm good. I'm going to conserve my voice.
As long as you're cool with it, too.
I'm cool with it.
Can we do soundcheck?
Yeah.
Why don't you jump over there?
We're going to do it over here.
We're going to do my soundcheck.
Nico.
All right, I'm not going to use my voice for the rest of the night.
I'm going to try not to talk for a little while, but
it sounds good, though.
I think it's going to be a really fun show.
Wait, where's the surprise?
Oh, okay.
Hey Dan, I just wanted to wish you the best of luck on your trip to Korea.
I'm really excited to hear all about it when you get back.
I'm so excited to get to meet your birth parents and your twin brother.
What?
And your sister.
You're awesome.
I couldn't wish a happier thing on a better person.
Congratulations, brother.
Congrats, Dan.
We fully support your new haircut.
That's what we're talking about, right?
Anyways, we just want to say we're really, really happy for you.
We're glad that this all happened the way that it did
and that we could play some very small part in it.
We're really, really happy for you.
Hi, Dan.
This is your mom, in case you've forgotten me for being gone so long.
I just wanted to tell you how much I love you
and how I'm hoping that this trip is answering a lot of questions that you have
and that when you come home, you'll be able to tell me this wonderful story.
And whatever happens in Korea,
I just know that I'm with you and will always be here for you.
I love you, honey.
And I can't wait to see you when you get back.
That was really cool.
Thank you, guys.
That really means a lot.
There's just so many amazing things that have happened on this trip
and tonight being the pinnacle of the conference,
being able to see this video with my biological brother and sister here
and then be able to go and perform with other adoptees.
I can't believe that.
I'm feeling emotional, man.
She's been emailing me throughout this trip
and I feel like such an awful son
because I haven't been able to really give her a lot of responses.
I haven't really been able to write her
because there's been a lot of stuff going on.
I always tell myself that I'm going to spend more time
to be able to be there for her,
but I don't think that I've been there for her through this trip.
This is probably going to be
one of the most meaningful performances I've ever done.
I can't wait to get out there.
