Day 1 of the Trans Sierra Norte, one of the world’s hardest and most extreme mountain bike races, pushes me to my limits. With no chance to practice or scout the trails, I’m riding blind, facing steep descents, technical terrain, and high-altitude challenges. Can I survive this grueling start to the 4-day race?
Join me as I tackle each unpredictable stage head-on.

The Trans Sierra Norte is one of the most challenging and extreme mountain bike races
on the planet and today you're about to see first-hand what it's like to race in this
incredibly challenging event. I got a special invite to compete in this race in Oaxaca,
Mexico. The race is spread over four days at high altitude with a total of 21 highly technical
downhill stages where races are pushed to the absolute limit across the vast terrain with each
stage offering a very unique challenge. But there's a twist, this is a blind race so there's
no practice, no chance to learn the trails in advance, every trail is raced for the first time
pushing us riders to race as fast as possible on trails we've never even seen before. So let's not
waste any time and jump straight in to the top of the very first ascent of day one of Trans Sierra Norte.
Stage one.
Disaster in the first turn.
Oh my god.
So slippery.
Mint.
Yeah boy. Oh my god. Amazing isn't it? I was all over the place. The top was so dangerous.
Yeah. Should have signs for that. Mate I had a huge E on that. Yeah. Pink.
Yeah I don't know. I went slow and I still. Yeah now I know. Have a good one.
I'm on the right track.
So that's two stages out of the way. Stage two was better than stage one. Longer, really hard
to read and get used to the terrain. You like, I feel like I'm riding at a good pace but want to
push more but then you run the risk of going off the track and the tracks aren't taped very well
so you can't really tell what's coming up. But anyway two stages down. First stage crashing
within the first bloody 10 seconds which isn't ideal. They've moved the food station forward
now because coming up after this there is a huge monster stage which is going to be epic.
So stick around and we'll jump straight up and we'll drop in.
Amazing.
Whoa that was a big hole.
Oh my god.
Thank you.
There's a road down here you should take left.
