disclosure that's it Gaz who made this who spent a long time making researching getting it right lot of Blood Sweat and Tears went into this I know this because this is a disclosure bit Gaz is a student of mine comes to loads of the live sessions and was giving it to people to test I didn't I didn't want to do that because I didn't want to kind of bias it it's going to be a bit bias in it because we can't help it Gaz is lovely it's a good trick and um I feel like I'm going to say nice things about it but it's not perfect he has been months and months months working on this wanting to do it independently got loads of advice from creators from Magic dealers uh and this is the result now it's been an interesting one because when I first saw this I really did think it was the type of trick I wouldn't be that interested in that doesn't mean it's a bad trick at all there's loads of Tricks I'm not that interested in that are brilliant and I know this plays well because the people that Gaz gave it to go out and perform with are doing it now getting great results their good performers all right but the it just I thought it's just another deck of cards that's music instead of suits and things like that but there's more to it the first thing is I know that Gaz created this from his love for music I want I say love for music it's not we all like music don't we but you know one of my early experiences with Gaz was him doing a video of dancing to YMCA so he's a fun person and that is reflected reflected in this um trick so that I've got that image now of been dancing to IMCA and it's it's thrown me off a little bit yes so there's this whole idea of the the the music being on the cards which we we it's not the first time we've seen that but then when I started watching the tutorials and there are a lot of tutorials when he said how many hours of tutorials there were I was upset but then you go on the page and they're all separated into different videos which is great because you can kind of watch the first couple and then you know go through them at your own pace but be doing stuff with this straight away so why is it not just bands instead of you know um suits well what it is it kind of is that but it's not just bands and we can force a band Etc first of all the big thing is the two things is are even this this cassette idea now again I was like what that's not very relevant isn't it that is the point this is a retro fun nostalg nostalgic nostalgic trick he a nostalgic trick um so the whole point is you go look at and everybody goes well you know it's a it's a I performed this for Helen my partner and she loved it earlier on and that's saying a lot not that she's doesn't love magic but you know she's honest with me and you've got this whole thing and you've got the handwritten which you don't have to write on by the way they're printed but they're handwritten um bands on there they're bands from different eras so you know it doesn't just to build one person you can talk them out there's going to be about that there's going to be bands that people haven't heard of but they're colorful and fun and they look great and novel and I think that's the disarming thing because they just look like a fun thing there's so much going on I'm looking at that crib there at the moment which you can you probably won't need to use but it's there if you want it these have got on the other side they've got these kind of best of album covers this originally started Life as a normal deck of cards and the cassettes on the back and because of that g had this size steing stack that he used and he's translated that to these cards so these all these cards are kind of linked to their original playing card in the stack which for some routines is going to be important but it's quite a nice thing that he's built into this this is a marked deck so every time I look at these there's a lot of information not the information you think so a lot of Mark decks this isn't a bad or good thing it's just a different thing there's a busy pattern and you kind of read the marks in the busy pattern this is so clear there's nothing to hide but what I can do by looking at these when it's in this size stebbing stack is I can look at well I can see the original card it would have been in the stack which is quite a fun thing and there are different uses for that but I can also see the the card that's on the back of it and I can see the card that that that they would have chosen so you you know they choose a card and while they're looking at it I I know what card they've got it's kind of like a easy version of a m deck now my first thing when I thought about this was well they're all different on the back so they're also all different here so what's stopping them from thinking oh just memorized the different faces and backs well nothing so so you could argue it's not quite as strong as them thinking all the backs are the same but it doesn't mean these these routines aren't strong when you start routining them if you see what I mean so Gaz doesn't spend that long saying look you you know what card they're going to pick it's more about then what you do with it which kind of builds the deception on on top so with this and we're going to talk about the Omni thing because that's better than I thought as well with this you he's got different and and again this is not the first time we've seen this and he's he's said who he's been inspired by um he's got version of out of this world which the instead of red and blacks the bands are Solo artists and bands and that's quite a nice thing because you can't see the difference until you tell people and you go oh yeah they've got and they're going to know straight away they're not going to kind of go are they a bandit so that's a really nice thing he's got ESP routine so these images here not obvious when you look at them do actually have pairs there are pairs in there so you can do a pair matching routine you can do an ESP you don't necessarily do it as an ESP routine but you can then translate all of this there the sh um from original card routines there's the Chicago opener routine which again is such a great trick Red Hot Mama Al's red Mama Chicago opener but it's way better than I thought because because with this you get a couple of gas cards you get I won't go through all of them but you get this kind of black and white um card which is great and he talks about dropping a magnet and wiping the card and and you use the magnet in the in the routine if you want to do his actual routine um you it's only a tiny little magnet you can you can go and get one but uh you don't have to do that you can do a different way but he he teaches that and everything has this kind of relevance and there are loads of more routines a version of Simon arenson shuffle board this routine where they you know they they choose different packs they shuffled you know face up face down and then you've got this Revelation at the end that you open up that says there are 25 um cassettes facing up there are how many uh solo artists left which means the rest are and then this kicker is at the rest the solo artist sorry and the kicker is you turn it over because you've got it wrong except for Oasis that makes no sense probably but you know let's not break the tradition the and there is more now the routines you get G spends a lot of time you kind of go through it in real time with you even kind of sorting the deck into stack you don't have to have it in the stack you can get it all mixed up and you can do a lot of these routines with it and the out of this world econ gets them into their situation you need them in front of them and in this sort of way that's Justified so you've got all that now are they as strong as the card versions they're just different like I said it's it feels different they feel thicker and more substantial is the wrong word I think but they don't feel like normal playing cards it doesn't matter if they think that they're just cards with cassettes printed on them and that printed on the B that's fine that's not what we're doing here we're not seriously trying to pull the wall over people's eyes we're doing a fun trick that's going to fool them is going to deceive them and importantly entertain them if this fits your performance style so you got the the things you need there let's talk about this now when I first saw this I was thinking oh it's just another somebody else banging a plastic thing in there instead of a deck of cards but the first thing is I'm not saying I don't know loads of different Omni routines but there's a relevance to this and I love the original Omni deck it don't need to be a relevance to it but I like the fact that when they think that they're holding a deck of cards in their hand with a card on top of it and there's this whole process and I suggest looking at gaz's routine because there's a lot in this I thought oh I'll just stick it under there when they're not looking but he does this whole thing where you get it wrong once they think they're holding half the deck you go right we know it's in this half the deck so can you lift your hand up and is it on the top one they say no you say is it the bottom one they go for this they've holding this for ages they're even looking at it and then when they turn around to look at the bottom card they realize it's this this plastic cassette and the Revelation is etched into here this is a sticker you get with it there are routines you can do with the sticker on it and without but that is a COR it's great I performed it for Helen and she was old in this thing for ages and afterward she said did you mean to get it wrong and she knows a lot of my nonsense um she genuinely thought the whole thing was going wrong so when she turned this over it was this slow kind of weird Eerie Revelation and she just went that's brilliant and she seen on the de she didn't put the two tricks together at all what she did say was I love tricks where you end up with this thing in your hand um magic tricks so sorry this is I'm I'm so pleased he says with a slightly squeaky voice because I genuinely thought I don't think this is going to be my thing now will I perform this at a gig I probably won't not because of the quality of it because it's great I know it kills because you know Pete and G and people on the course have been going out and doing it again and again and that's in their set now I've just don't want to add more stuff what I do at certain gigs absolutely the bands that you've chosen there's some great ones in there that that you wouldn't necessarily think of that obvious um there's QR codes on three of these which is nice addition you can do yes they are not playing cards but you can say with someone what's your favorite cards if they happen to say the one that a lot of people say you force this card and there nothing to do with a playing card you say just scan that QR code you see that nearly all of these haven't got QR codes on them only another two but they probably won't see them anyway and they see a thing saying Queen of Hearts there's a one that says happy birthday with an animation and there's one that's got an animation of um a wedding anniversary so you can use them in different ways there's so much in this and as I I said Gaz has put a lot of work into it and it doesn't mean it's good does it people can put a lot of work into stuff and it not be very good but because he cares about it he wanted to know what people thought what are you getting responses are people liking them that was really important to him he he's not just going to say it's going to kill if he doesn't know it does and I know I've seen the footage of him killing with it but also of of you know G and Peter from the course that going out gigging you know every week with this thing so lot there not for everybody I know and as Gad Gaz says he knows it's it's not going to sort of change the face of magic but like Gaz and this goes to what I first thought it's great fun it's magical and it's a little bit difficult to understand until you get to know it and I mean that in the best possible way I don't mean that really goes you're lovely but there you go uh and he says it's totally not going to change your face of magic but if you get this there's a lot you can do with it those all those different routines to me of building up to this Omni you can buy this without the Omni addition but I really really recommend that I think it's on sale on his site at the moment it's not cheap it's like 50 Quid or something 55 quid um but that's cuz he makes it all himself he prints it there's no kind of you know big company behind this so you got a good solid trick here loads of fun if you're that kind of performer it uses music which everybody can relate to there's emotion built into it if you want it there's mentalism routines all that kind of stuff there just loads of stuff and um and again you know I will I know you're going to think I'm biased I'm not saying this is going to change everything and I know I've said that three times but when it's someone I know I do have to kind of hammer that home I just think it's a fun thing well made uh and you know I like it when a magic trick reflects the person that's made it because of what they've put into it so you you've got all the information need now you have a look but go and have a look at his site anyway will you because you know when people are working independently we should have a look uh there's some really interesting stuff coming out he's got a lovely deck switcher which again there's more to it than you
