About Rob The Ranger Wildlife Videos: The purpose of the channel is to show what it is like to experience seeing wild animals on an African safari. Nature Documentaries are often highly edited to tell a story, wildlife safaris are not, and the idea here is to show the wildlife sightings the way they were seen. Safari tours in Africa are generally suitable for all ages and this channel can be considered an educational channel about incredible nature, some scenes in the nature videos may be more graphic than people are used to but this is the reality of nature and is what you would see if you were present on such a safari in person. Safaris in Kenya, South Africa, or any other African country are an unrivalled experience for anyone with a passion for nature, wildlife photography, and travel. Hopefully the animal videos on this channel can provide a glimpse into what the nature experience is like and encourage more people to take a wildlife safari one day. There should be eight. I can see seven. One close to us. Six on the meat. Might be another one lying
in the bush somewhere here. There was definitely eight this morning. Now all of these lions
are three years old. They've broken off from their main pride. Their mothers have got new cubs.
Three years old. There's another pride in the area that also has youngsters that are a few
months older than this. They're half their size. They've had a much tougher life. These guys have
had an easy life. They specialised in buffalo their entire life. Their mothers were specialist
buffalo hunters and they've taught these youngsters, well not the youngsters anymore,
the adults in their own right, they've taught these lions how to hunt buffaloes and that's
what they do. They follow the buffalo herd and they eat buffaloes. And there's plenty of meat
on the buffalo. There is enough meat on the buffalo to feed this many lions. That's the
beauty of it. How long will it take them now to devour that? Well it depends on when they last
ate. When we saw them this morning they were not very active. They were hard to tell how full they
were. It didn't look like they'd eaten recently. But I've seen them polish off a buffalo this size
in only a couple of hours. So here this looks like it might last them a bit longer. Not really
when it's a group like this. It's first come first served. Because they're all the same age.
The male is obviously a little bit bigger than the females already at three years old.
So they would be able to dominate the best spots on the meat. But they can only eat until they're
full. And there's enough there to fill them all a couple of times. So they'll all get a chance to
eat a lot of it. What's he doing with it? Just looking. That's where the stomach was ripped out.
See if there's any of the actual stomach lining left to eat. Is he coming over here to say hello?
She's going to go and join the other ones that went to line behind us.
Yeah. Two coming back again. See they're just starting to grow their manes, the young males.
Won't be fully grown until they're three years old.
Before they mate.
They'll know that something's going on. They will have heard it.
Hyenas got extremely good sense of hearing. So they'll have been listening.
They might pick up the smell. But with this many lions, they won't.
Unless there's like 20, 30 hyenas together. They won't chase the lions off.
Man's getting stuck in there. With his hind leg.
They're going to meet and bite each other.
After some decent patch.
How many is that now? Tell them the truth. One, two.
Is there nine here? Nice.
Yeah, but the fourth one has been gone a long time.
And his head a little bit.
You can hear the flies swarming in. The flies will be busy trying to lay as
many eggs as possible before the meat's all gone.
Oh, he's just crashed out. Yeah, like this guy here.
Hello Dan. A combination of being hot and being full.
A big hole in his belly earlier in the year.
Right at the beginning of the year, he got gored by a buffalo.
Didn't seem to do him too much damage. Yep.
Trying to get it out of the tree there.
When the lions have gone.
Yeah, there's too many lions here for the hyenas to feel safe.
Lions will quite happily kill hyenas from time to time.
We're parked on the spot where they were eating last night.
