Hello friends so something I don't know
if I've spoken about enough on here is
that I love the Sims I have loved the
Sims since the Sims 2 I play Sims 2 Sims
3 Sims 4 Sims 3 is obviously the best
one we can all agree Sims 3 is
undoubtedly the best Sims 4 is
undoubtedly the worst and I still love
playing The Sims if I have a month where
I haven't read as much it's probably
because I'm currently in a Sims
Obsession the obsession that I got with
it was was borderline unhealthy I don't
know how I'm going to integrate in
society after this does anyone else do
that where like you play The Sims like
obsessively for a month and then don't
play it for a couple months and then
play it obsessively for a month so if
I'm not reading like The Sims is one
number one of my like other hobbies that
I do so I thought why not combine two of
my loves and for a week let the Sims
pick what I read we're going to do it in
a really fun way involving packs which
I'll tell you about in a second but yes
today in this Vlog The Sims is going to
be picking what I read so shall I just
get into it find out what we're going to
be reading find out how going pick the
books and let's go see cuz I love I love
the Sims I'm so excited we should sit
down at some point and talk about how
much I love the Sims maybe I don't know
but let's go find out what we're going
to be reading but before we get into the
video I want to tell you guys about
something super exciting I am working
with Bessa and together we are doing a
massive sex toy giveaway and everyone
who signs up will win a free toy or gift
card Bessa is a bywoman company for all
things sexual wellness and their mission
is to empower everyone to embrace
explore and celebrate the their
sexuality and honestly as a woman as a f
person I think we're often taught to
kind of like hide our sexuality or not
talk about it or not show it and I
really think that it's important to like
they say Empower Embrace for everyone to
so they sent me some toys which I
thought I'd show you and they all come
in really discret packaging which I
think is great you charge them all
through the packaging all the toys are
waterproof so let's talk about them
first we have the pebble so this is the
pebble here she is and on this the
suction and the vibration is controlled
independently it's ergonomically built
to fit perfectly in your hand which it
definitely does and there are no
annoying pattern modes which let to be
honest why do they exist I'm so glad
someone's finding like no annoying
pattern modes they're so annoying why do
those exist who wants them who wants
those annoying pattern modes anyway so
that's the pebble isn't she cute then we
have the flutter Vibe this one has jaw
stimulation it's got gspot and cloral
simulation and this bit here simulates
the feel of a human tongue which is very
I feel like Innovative and I haven't
really seen anyone do something like
that before and then we have the thump
this one does it all it has suction here
vibration here and thumping here
thumping this one's really cool cuz it's
got so many different modes it's so
versatile so yeah I love all these
they're waterproof discret packaging I
think they're wonderful and like I
mentioned at the start of this video me
and my friends at Bessa are literally
sending out free vibrators or free gift
cards for vibrators to everyone who
signs up for the giveaway down below so
make sure you check out link down below
what a great deal literally everyone's
everyone's going to get something from
the giveaway I cannot recommend them
enough I think these are so Innovative
and there's literally something for
everyone so yes go check it out via the
link down below Hello friends it is time
to let the Sims pick what I read I'm am
excited but I'm nervous I'm very nervous
I'm very very nervous so what we're
going to be doing is James Turner who I
think is like a Sims YouTuber has
created a Sims 4 random pack generator I
want to get rid of like the kits though
we're not the kits are not helpful so
we're going to be having a randomizer of
the expansion packs the game packs and
the stuff packs one of those will be
randomized and then I have to use that
pack to pick a book whether it be
linking to the theme of the pack or
something in the ti of the book links to
the theme of that pack that's what we're
doing and that's going to be how we pick
what we read are we excited I'm very
excited we did like a test run of this
with my Patron and we were like trying
to make every book linked to the
favorites I don't even have my hands on
that yet but I really want to read the
favorites guys I need to read some good
books book on this Vlog I need to read
some books I'm in the mood for so I'm
hoping I can like twist a little bit
whatever packs end up appearing into a
book I'm genuinely like really in the
mood for right now cuz I feel like I
need it you know I need some good books
so I'm going to have one pack of here at
a time and shall we just begin oh my God
I feel so nervous okay first pack I feel
like if there's something like movie
hangout stuff that's hard okay first
pack vintage P glamour
stuff
okay wait a
minute I'm figuring this out so we I
think I might know what I'm going to
pick for that
already okay okay okay okay okay third
third pack third pack third
book cats and
dogs what books do what books do I have
there a cat wait I must have some cat
books I must have some cat books I
surely have a book with a cat on the
cover oh I do okay I know what we're
reading for that okay let's go over to
the Bookshelf vintage glamour stuff cats
and dogs okay let's let's go find out
okay first pack vintage glamour stuff
the first book that came to my mind
obviously you're going to want something
historical but with glamour to it right
you want historical but you want like a
certain Vibe I think I'm going to go for
this is a book I really wanted to read
and I think it fits it the Final Act of
Juliet willby look at that cover is that
not vintage glamour is vintage glamour
it's got three timelines one in Paris in
1938 one in Cambridge in 1991 and one in
Dubai now and it's all about three
suspicious deaths over the course of a
century there's a lost paint art I'll
tell you the plot once we get into it
but I am so excited for this this is
like one of the books I'm when I was
thinking oh I want to read a book I'm in
the mood for this is it this is it this
is what I'm immediately in the mood
for success I think that's such a win
right like that is Glam this is this
book is glamorous and it's vintage
right that's that's I that's an obvious
pick okay cats and dogs the first one
that came to mind I'm sure I have other
cat books I probably have a lot of cat
books but we have the full moon coffee
shop which is about a coffee house Rand
by cats run by talking cats yep y y y I
love a good cat book and obviously we
know historically my problem is when Cat
books that aren't Cat books that are
liars you know that are lying to me and
saying they're Cat books and they're not
but this genuinely is if it's translated
from Japanese I'm very intrigued about
this one so I think that's a really good
pick these two were definitely going to
be reading which I'm very excited
[Music]
about hello I went away and I read the
entirety of the full moon coffee shop by
my Muki cuz this was so quick it was so
fast like it looks like a fairly sizable
book it's like 260 pages but the font
mive biggest font you've ever seen she's
huge but she's so beautiful she's a
mammoth of course I'm going to give this
a 3.5 but it's like a good 3.5 versus
some of the 3.5s I've had a lot of 3.5s
lately some of the 3.5s had lately have
been like disappointing 3.5s this is
like a 3.75 I just don't think it's
quite a four so basically this is the
story of a coffee shop that talking cats
run and we have three main story lines
three kind of little short stories but
they are all interconnected as well uh
throughout this book of people who are
kind of at like a Crossroads in Life or
need something to understand about their
lives coming into contact with this
coffee shop run by talking cats and
that's all you really need to know it's
very much before the coffee gets cold
Vibes not I I wouldn't say this is like
as emotional it's more like figuring
stuff out you're at a Crossroads do I
choose this do I choose this or I'm in a
bit of a funk what do I need to get me
out of it versus like before the coffee
gets cold is like very emotional but
it's similar and that it's like Japanese
magical realism um with these short you
know but interconnected as well stories
that you're traveling through together
and you know I just think this is very
sweet and cute and lovely a lovely
little book but like did it do anything
major for me not really you know it's
that you just have those books sometimes
where it's like it was perfectly
feel-good lovely a nice read but it's
not memorable and there's nothing about
it that made me go oh yeah I I love I
love how that was done you know it just
fun I don't really have a ton to say
about it I enjoyed the stories that we
encountered in this I would say my
favorite was the first one and like then
all the others kind of p in comparison
cuz at the at this start you don't know
there's going to be short stories so you
kind of get more attached to that first
character who the first story centers on
because you think oh I'm going to be
following them for the whole book but
then it turns out you only follow them
for 80 pages and then I think you don't
get attached to the other characters but
I really do like how all their stories
linked there's like near the end I don't
want to spoil anything but like you find
out how all of their stories
interconnected I mean you know so little
bits throughout like this character
there's this character whatever but
there's like a a reason why they all
know each other and it's all
interconnected and I really loved that
and listen I love talking cats I love
talking cats oh also astrology plays a
big role in this and I'm trying to get a
little bit more into astrology I'm
finding it quite interesting oh sorry
how long have I been out of focus who
knows I I'm trying to get more into
astrology I think it's very interesting
and um that plays a huge role in this
like all the the cats read all the
characters like Nal charts and like oh
this is in your sixth house so this
means this and whatever and I thought
that was really interesting so like it's
a sweet little book I had a really nice
time reading it it's so quick and fast
but I don't think it's memorable I don't
think this is going to stick with me so
that's where we are Fast book I enjoyed
it I had a good time reading it we're
now going to start the Final Act of Judy
Willoughby by Ellery Lloyd I have been
so excited to read this book for so long
it is triple timeline which does make me
nervous you know that's not always my
favorite thing however I'm hoping I
could still love it there's like some
mixed media elements to it I'm just
really really excited for this one so I
will let you know when I'm about halfway
through what my thoughts are but I am
hoping for wonderful things I have been
sent something so I thought I'd open
that with you really quickly I don't
know why I move positions to open
something
but it's okay I can't see what it is
let's see who it's from from VA I love
SEL and now you have to film your new
home Library somehow I hope you enjoy
this book oh I know what this is already
then this is for the first time again by
SV Nal now I don't want to read the
synopsis of this because I haven't read
the second book in the series yet but I
really enjoyed the first book in the
series it's sci-fi and it was about this
mother and daughter who were like
existing within oh I can't remember it's
not spoiler I read this series the first
series so long ago it's about like a a
they're
like at pivotal moments in history to do
his space and interacting with it that's
what I want to say and it's told in a
very interesting way I think think it
doesn't have speech marks it's like
dashes anyways I'm very excited thank
you so much VA that is so kind of you
okay I'm going to go start the Final Act
of J want to be and I'll let you know my
thoughts but I'm so
[Music]
excited oh my goodness we have a lot to
talk about it's very exciting okay so I
am halfway through the Final Act of J it
would it
be I am obsessed I am obsessed in the
first like 30 page of the B I had five
star
feeling guys okay okay okay I'm obsessed
let's talk about this plot because it's
very interesting so like I think I've
mentioned multiple times in talking
about this book we have three timelines
we have Paris
1938 where Juliet willab be this this
artist which I'll tell you more about in
the future timelines but she is in Paris
painting this very famous painting and
she ends up dying in a fire with her
lover now we are then in Cambridge 1991
and in the first half that has been the
main timeline following these two art
students who are kind of discovering
about Juliet Willoughby because she has
been kind of like erased from history
she has not been remembered her most
famous painting there's no pictures of
like it's not really known what it
looked like she's kind of just
remembered as the lover of the artist
that she died with and these art history
students are trying to uncover more
about her and learn about her life and
learn what the photo looked like and
then we have present day Dubai I think
it is and one of them is Accused is
arrested for murder at an auction where
I think are we selling this paint I
don't know we're selling some kind of
painting at an auction now what I think
this very cleverly does is I I obviously
have an issue with split timelines but
what it does is that you have a main
timeline and I think the main timeline
has shifted but for that first half it
was just the Cambridge timeline we went
back to Paris in 1938 to read Juliet's
diary because one of the art historys
finds her diary in these archives and is
kind of like transcribed it so we read
her diary and then we have brief flash
forwards to the present day but now I've
read like five pages of part three so
set in Parts read like five page part
three and now it seems like the 2023
timeline is going to be our main
timeline I love that I love that I love
that I love that I think it's such a
good way to do multiple time see I can
like multiple timeles it's when there's
like multiple timel competing for
dominance and it's like 50/50 time with
them and you end up kind of like only
half loving both whereas like I could
really invest myself in one timeline but
like there's little puzzle pieces coming
from the other timelines and it's all
being pieced together and interwoven in
a really interesting way I'm loving this
SP I'm loving this SP I'm loving this B
I mean I think it's like from the
synopsis you can kind of start to see
why it's something I'm going to love it
is about a woman who has been raised
from history and like if you know me you
know that like a real interest of mine
particular when it comes to non-fiction
is like women's stories from history
that have not been remembered in the way
that men have because history so male
it's so male dominated women's stories
matter yeah they just
matter know I still remember when I went
to uh look around the six form I ended
up going to but I if I'd stayed at my
secondary school I was going to do
history a level but I went and they they
have different syllabuses and the one I
was going to the six ended up going to
was an all boys grammar so it's all boys
from year 7 to 11 and the six form girls
can come and join and my mom said to the
history teacher like your syllabus is
entirely
male history and the teacher's like
yes just because they're boys doesn't
mean they shouldn't let and there's
girls there as well it's mixed in sex
anyways it REM that I think it's so
important to learn about women's stories
and so this is obviously fiction but
it's the story of these these students
trying to like bring This Woman's who
very important from history perhaps like
one of the most wonderful painters that
just like history has has lost you've
been lost to history I think is so
interesting it's it's so so so
interesting I'm loving the writing I'm
loving the story it's got an
intelligence to it I would say it it on
this front it says think the secret
history meets salurn I think it's very
much like the gold finch because it's
got that art element that The Goldfinch
has it really reminds me of the gold
finch with like auctions and like
ventage like you know artist art sales
and like all this stuff but I think it
has got you know the first half they art
Cambridge so it's got that kind of like
University element to it as well now I
am interested to see how it's going to
go now that it seems then we're now in
present day because there's parts right
so I've read the first two parts and I
will say all the parts start and end on
really like catchy moments like the the
kind of like thing that happened at the
end of the last part was like gag a trra
like it was a huge gag and I just think
this is ending really well on all the
guys I'm loving
it is is so fun to love a
book I have decided by the way we're
only going to read two books in this
Vlog because there's been some wild
stuff happening behind the scenes I'm
not ready to talk about yet to do with
the flat we maybe talk about in the next
Vlog but um it's taken up a lot of my
week so there was supposed to be three
books in this Vlog and I just kind of
cut out the part earlier in the Vlog
where like I found it was my wedding
stories was the pack if you're
interested so I was either going to read
something set at a wedding or a romance
but I just haven't been reading as much
because there's been some stressful
stuff happening behind the scenes
anyways also I do just want to talk
about this ellerie Lloyd is a husband
and wife writing Duo isn't that
fascinating and she studied at the
history of art at Trin College Cambridge
interesting and then worked as a
journalist in Dubai so that's where
that's coming from
interesting
interesting
interesting that's fascinating I always
find writing Partnerships very
interesting like how does it work are
they sitting down together and like
writing because it seems like one
cohesive voice it doesn't feel like
they're writing you know one person's
writing one chapter one person's writing
another chapter it feels like I'm One
Voice the writing voice is very good
very strong I'm really enjoying it but I
just wonder how that works like what
their process is because like I've read
books before where it's written by two
well-known authors and you can really
feel like they obvious usually they
write like one character's perspective
each and it flits back and forth but
like how does this work how does this
what they sit down together and write it
that's so fascinating isn't it anyways
I'm loving it I'm loving it I I just
think it's a book that's got a little
bit of everything it's got mystery it's
got historical it's got vintage glamour
it's got a bit of a romance it's got
tension it's got so many little
Mysteries and it's got like a lot of
breadth and depth to it you know which I
love in a book it's got what I want
where it's not a straight line the plot
is got little branches coming off
anyways let's talk quickly about the
Sims my love of the Sims because this
Vlog is about you know the Sims picking
what I read so I just want to CH about
the Sims briefly you can skip this part
if you're not interested but I want to
talk about the Sims so when I said I was
doing this video some of my patrons are
like are you going to show us your Sims
play and I don't think so a because I
just got my new laptop and so I've only
got like one game one family on there at
the moment it's not particularly
exciting one but also I think I play
Sims in quite a boring way I don't know
it's not a not an interesting way for
you guys to see hang on I need to hike
this camera up a bit so I am not a
builder I don't build I'm not um I don't
use mods you know like you know like
appearance mods like to make them look
like crazy aesthetically pleasing The
Sims I don't use cheats I I like to
abide by the rules I just like having
families that I make you know promoted
at their jobs and earn money and get
skills I don't know I just like the game
play I'm very much a family game player
but I end up like because basically I
like the hustle I like getting them to
work really hard at their job earn money
do side hustles you know they go and
look for frogs they go and look for time
capsules and then I get them like to
move into a big house and then like the
the hustle is lost so I not being
interested and I start a new game so
like my families only ever like get
toddlers if a child if I'm lucky I very
rarely when I made the family I made at
the moment I made a teenager on purpose
so I could play with a teenager because
I never play with them I literally I
just like gameplay I just like family
gameplay it's so boring it's not
interesting talking about your
performance darling you know I just like
I like a narrative I really like strong
packs like packs that I can really build
a narrative around so I love Cottage
living in the simur is my favorite pack
I love playing in that world I love like
having a family who have a cow and some
chickens and like you know of you know
where they have to like go buy the
groceries in order to cook and like one
of them will paint and one of them will
fish and like they won't have jobs but
they'll just like do like stuff to make
I love that I love I love that or at the
moment I'm doing a horse ranch one cuz
that's like a very again a very strong
story line so I like the packs where
it's a world and it's a strong story
line and I I'm not really interested in
super natural stuff I just like normal
game it's so boring it's so boring now
here's the thing I don't like about the
Sims 4 that I really liked about when I
played The Sims 3 is that I want
constant control of all of my Sims at
the same time so like in The Sims 4 all
of my Sims just end up staying at home
because in the Sims 3 I could send
someone off to get a message or I could
send someone off to go here and do
something and I could control everyone
simultaneously there is not a single
minute in my Sims gameplay that is
wasted Everyone is always doing
something like either to increase their
fun or to increase their skill or like
everyone's always doing something so
they end up staying at home which is
annoying in The Sims 4 cuz like I want
to send everyone off different places
but I need to control you all at the
same time whereas if one person goes out
somewhere in The Sims 4 everyone else is
left at home I don't know what they're
getting up to they're wasting precious
minutes anyway so I'm in control but I'm
out of control and I'm also um
controlled so in a way I'm everything
but yeah my Sims gameplay is very boring
I don't build I bet I mean I do like
renovate but even then I use like the
know rooms in the in the build store as
like inspiration and I just like drag
and drop the item in into the room
that's already existing like your little
makeover it's very boring I'd love to
know if you play The Sims how you play
The Sims because um yeah I mine isn't
very interesting like I never think I
could stream it like I don't want to do
challenges I don't want to do mods I
just want to have a family that I take
from strength to strength like at the
moment my teenager in this family is
like she's a horse gly and she is doing
all the competitions and her and her
horse are besties and they're rising up
the ranks and I don't let her enter the
next if you know the horse competitions
there's all those categories and there's
like level
I don't let them end to the next level
until they get a gold in the previous
one like that's that's my little
challenge at the moment it's it's not
interesting but I um I love the Sims
it's always been pretty much my favorite
game that and Nancy Drew the ncy Drew
games I feel like I need to get back
into playing the Nancy Drew games maybe
but I don't think I could stream The
Sims because it's so boring how I play
it but I love it I find it so
interesting you can waste 10 hours
playing The Sims easy peasy lemon
squeezy I love the so anyways I am going
to go finish the Final Act of Juliet
Willoughby and I'll let you know my
thoughts but at the moment it's feeling
like a five star it's feeling like a
five star like I am loving it loving it
so um yes we're going to out for a walk
today and I'm going to read this book
and hopefully we're going to have a
great time Hello friends I literally
just finished the book five stars five
stars I literally just finished it and
I've run upstairs to talk to about it I
have not put my thoughts together at
already five stars I loved loved loved
this book like every I just wanted I
like this is like art like I love it
like there's something about this it is
so good it is so good guys there are so
many little mysteries in this book
there's so many little moments that have
little Clues towards different things
happening with different characters and
they all come together and are resolved
in such a satisfying way at the end like
really it is a talent keeping all of
these threads together it reminds me of
the mysterious case of the AP Angels by
Janice I felt the same way where there's
just so many elements and so many
different characters and so many
different plot points and this person
does this and this person what does it
all mean oh it was so so so good I mean
it's like my kind of thing let's be
honest like forgotten women from history
and it really is making that point like
women getting a raised from history by
men and like you know particularly in
the art world at this time how that
happened women but I loved it I loved it
it's the kind of book that I feel like I
could almost recommend it to anyone I
challenge you to go read this book and
give it less than like a 3.5 like bare
minimum I think everyone I can't imagine
you giving this less than 3.5 I want to
say four but I know people are harsh
rers I want to say I don't think you
could give it less than a four I feel
like everyone could give it a four but
let's say 3.5 like I really don't
understand how anyone could read this
book and not enjoy it like I think it's
just a great book it's just a great book
it's such a satisfying but oh I loved it
I loved it and at the back there's um
like a bibliography from from the
authors that of books that
informed all different aspects of this
book so ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs has
like 10 books The Art Market auctions
Paris in the 1930s women and surrealism
that is all books they informed they've
done their research and I just feel like
you can feel that I say this a lot about
books you can feel that there's been a
lot poured into and really I think that
ends up being some of my favorite books
you know books that you can feel the
reset like Katherine aren I say is
always like this or RF Quang like often
historical books and yes this does have
an historical elements but like most of
it happens either in the present day or
in the
1990s um and you can just feel that the
authors have done such amazing work to
like make this feel like a fully fleshed
out book I love it is it my f what book
do I read this year what was my first
book of the year that I gave five
stars why am I drawing a
blank hold on
what was it oh Disney High I say it's my
favorite fiction book that I have read
so far this year I adored it I Ador it
it's got so many quotes on the back as
well like I feel like authors know that
it's an amazing book but it hasn't had
enough ratings it's only got I think
about 5,000 ratings on good read which
is not that high that's like kind of
like a lesser readed book and so I just
want more people to read it I want you
guys to go and read it I loved it I
think this is a wonderful wonderful book
the authors this author Duo the husband
and wife wrote the club which is a
thriller that came out a couple years
ago and I feel like was more of a I
don't know just like flashy Thriller and
I I feel like this is tonally very
different so I don't know if I'm going
to read that I feel like that wasn't
very highly rated either so I don't know
if that was just the book that got them
like their debut deal if that was their
debut and then this is the book they've
poured a lot into but I know people like
her it seems like was their debut I
don't know this feels very different
than what I pursued of people talking
about the club I just loved it I just
loved it you can feel oh the characters
in this all the characters are so
complex feel so real I also love reading
about like rich people like messed up
rich people stuff like Lucy FY does that
very well there's a lot of like family
