【Classical music and nature 古典音樂小站】Johann Sebastian Bach: Harpsichord Concerto no. 5 in F minor, BWV 1056 - III. Presto. This beautiful piece was played by Michel Rondeau and Aline Letendre. In early 1729, Bach became the director of the so-called 'Scottish Collegium Musician', a musical organisation of students and local citizens. The remarkable result of this undertaking are the harpsichord concertos. It is now almost certain that virtually all of these concertos were transcribed from concertos for melody instruments (usually violin or oboe).
The Concerto in F minor, BWV 1056, is the fifth of the harpsichord concertos included in the autograph score that Bach wrote out in or around 1738 (Berlin Staatsbibliothek, Mus. ms. Bach P 234). It is one of those harpsichord concertos that turn out to be transcriptions, even though the original is now lost.
