You have to know your email address, meaning your primary email address.
If you don't know what that is, you have to know what it is.
Yes, I've made this video before, but there's still a lot of people coming to me
saying that they don't know what that is, believe it or not, both in my real life and online.
They say, I don't know what that is, can you help me find it?
So, I'm here to make another video, because learning is repetition.
But you need to know what this is.
Everything revolves around it.
If you have a smartphone and it's backed up to the cloud,
it requires an email address for that to happen, initially.
If you do online banking, if you do online bill payments,
if you register for anything at all, it all revolves around your primary email address.
And if you lose track of your email address,
or if you have multiple email addresses that you've had over the years
and you don't remember which one you signed up with,
you need to start paying attention to this,
because what's going to happen is you're going to get yourself in trouble,
and you're going to get either locked out of something,
or you're going to miss important emails, or whatever.
For home use, most people only need one primary email address.
If you've migrated from like an AOL to a Gmail,
you need to take all your things over to that other Gmail.
This is a very important thing, because for one, it's a security issue.
Because if you don't pay attention to certain things in that old email address,
and people start hacking your email memory,
they'll send password resets and all kinds of other stuff to your old email,
your old AOL or whatever, your old cloud email,
and you'll never know because you're only paying attention to your Gmail.
So, these are things that you have to start paying attention to.
Now, I've said a lot, so let me simplify a bit.
For most of your online activity, all you need is one email address,
usually a Gmail, or a Hotmail, or an Outlook, or something else.
And you have to remember what you've signed up with.
If you don't remember, you need to backtrack and pay attention to that.
So, for example, I have an iPhone, and when I set up my iCloud account,
I register it with one of my email addresses.
That way, if I ever need to reset my iCloud account,
they send me a password reset to my email address and I can do it,
or they send it to my phone.
A lot of times they send it to my phone and my iCloud address.
When I have my Samsung phone, which I still have,
it is registered with the same email address,
and it's also registered with a secondary email address
for the Google Play Store, for apps and stuff like that.
So, I know what those things are, but I've paid attention to these things.
I'm just saying that if you're backing up your data to the cloud,
if you're doing anything online,
and you don't know what your primary email address is,
you're going to be in trouble.
Now, a lot of people are going to give me comments saying,
well, how do I find it? I don't know what it is.
It's going to be very hard for me to help.
You're probably going to have someone in your life
who can actually take a look at your things,
or knows your habits, or knows what you've done in the past,
to help you.
I can try.
Or people like me can try, not just myself.
But you have to know what it is.
This is a very important thing that a lot of people don't get into,
and it's how a lot of things get stolen or hacked or whatever.
That's it.
