Hello everyone, today we are going to discover a new property.
This property is a castle.
This castle is based in Normandy, less than an hour from Paris, and this castle is composed
of 13 rooms, it is 760 square meters, with 27 hectares of land, both a park, totally
closed, but also agricultural land, a tennis court, a pool and also an aerodrome.
This is quite rare and exceptional in France today, we have an aerodrome in this area.
So this area and this castle belonged to Félix de Puligny.
Félix de Puligny will totally rebuild it in the 1850s, 1855, 1870 to be exact, and he
will do this with his architect, who is a student of Viollet-Leduc.
You will see, we will discover an exceptional castle there, we will make the castle, all
the services, the dependencies, but also the aerodrome, so an exceptional place
today in France.
Come on, follow me, let's go, we're going to visit all this.
As we have seen, the works began in 1855 and ended in 1870.
The first person to lay a stone on this castle and this new facade was Madame de Puligny
herself, who will put a stone right here, so on the first row of stones of this castle.
And what will be quite interesting is this facade.
The facade is typical of Neo-Gothic castles.
We see it here, so it's very interesting, you have the towers with the small
murder-type windows, of course a stone castle with fairly narrow windows, and we will
see at the top of this facade, that's a particularity, we will see a frieze.
This frieze is the allegory of the oak tree, hence the name of Chesnay Castle.
The oak tree has a great regional history here and therefore it is put on this facade.
Then we see an excellent work of the artisans on the size of the stones.
The stones are absolutely beautiful and you can see it, the different ornaments, you have
gargoyles.
The gargoyles are made with precision and with a lot of detail, it's quite fascinating.
You can see and appreciate these different gargoyles on the facade.
So what I propose to you is that we enter the inside of the castle by passing under
this porch, which is held by two impressive monoliths and which allows to support an accessible
balcony from the first floor.
Come on, follow me, we're going right now.
So here we enter the hall of the castle, the absolutely magnificent hall, and in particular
with this incredible first thing door, a little bit of reference in this hall, you can
see this massive chain door with a huge key, a unique key for this door.
It's really a monument in itself, this beautiful door.
So here we have a door here and we can look at what surrounds this hall, these are different
And with a little story here, we have Louis XI who locked up the cardinal of the Balu.
So here's a little story within this hall.
We can also see windows in this hall.
These windows allow for a cross-sectional view of the entire ground floor, so we can
imagine here having large receptions and being able to enjoy everyone and actually see
all the people in a party, perhaps, or an event organized within the castle.
And I would also like to emphasize one thing, this book collects all the works of Félix
de Puligny and his architect with the explanations, piece by piece, of the renovation.
Here we really have a treasure of all the renovation of the castle.
Here we enter a historical room of the castle where everything is practically original.
We see here a French-style ceiling with entirely painted and decorated solvages
at the bas-reliefs of the different lords of Normandy.
This ceiling is absolutely magnificent and painted by Félix de Puligny himself, who
decorated the different ornaments of this room.
So we have this solvage that is absolutely impressive.
We have an impressive fireplace that fits perfectly into the volumes of this room.
And on this fireplace, we find again the oak in this frieze above the fireplace.
So we are still in the Château de la Chaînée with this oak frieze.
So a fireplace, paintings and of course beautiful windows here to fully enjoy the park and the light.
And we will also find, to be able to have a crossing view and which will be able to
cover the entirety of the castle, we will have again these windows that will allow
to see the different people and to see the different rooms and to have a real
feeling of grandeur and breath within this castle.
So here we are going to go into the dining room which is just behind me.
We enter here in the reception room, the dining room with an almost original decoration.
Nothing has changed compared to the historical castles of the 15th century.
Here we find absolutely magnificent and well-emphasized woodwork within this room.
And we will also find a caisson ceiling with different trades, different cultural activities.
So here, the reception room par excellence.
We find a magnificent fireplace, very impressive, corresponding to the volume of this room.
I think here we have the perfect reception room to organize large dinners, large receptions.
And we will find precisely this window that will allow us to see into the living room and to have a crossing light.
So here we really have a room where it is good to live, where you can breathe,
we can spend good family moments, we have good receptions.
Really a great room here to enjoy the places.
I suggest we go right away to see the summer salon where we will be able to have some fun.
We leave the large reception room, we go back to the hall.
We take advantage of this staircase, a really massive stone staircase that adorns this hall.
And there we go into the summer salon, you will see.
We are here in the last renovated room.
And a particular point of this room, if we could remember one thing, it is precisely this fireplace.
This fireplace is made of wood, it is carved in wood.
And look how impressive it is in detail, in detail.
These sculptures are really impressive, a really impressive fireplace.
For example, here not a window but glass.
And so we can also have a beautiful light here and really a good feeling of space.
Once again, we have a ceiling height that is constant on the entire floor.
We are about 5 meters high from the ceiling.
So again, a very, very nice volume here.
We are in the room par excellence for the end of the evening or a good relaxing afternoon here.
To enjoy once again both the park and the light that is on display.
This room is on permanent display precisely because of its orientation.
So here we can really fully enjoy this magnificent room.
What I suggest is that we go to the kitchen and we will go through a small door which is right here.
We enter here in the kitchen of the castle.
An absolutely magnificent kitchen.
We find these beautiful heights under the ceiling of the ground floor.
We stay on the same consistency, we stay about 5 meters.
A French-style ceiling with beautiful beams.
A back kitchen right there and access to the outside.
You can see behind me an impressive fireplace with a piano today.
Enough to cook well right here.
Beautiful windows to be able to cook while enjoying the park and the beautiful view.
Here we will have an exhibition that will be precisely northwest.
And so here we will enjoy this light rather at the end of the day.
We have just finished the visit of this ground floor.
This ground floor is composed of its living room, large reception room, dining room, summer living room and also the kitchen.
And we will now go to the floor.
We arrive here in a large corridor.
This corridor will serve the rooms, the living rooms of the castle.
And so we will visit a first room.
We arrive here in the main room.
This main room has some particular points.
Once again we find the great heights under the ceiling.
We are still on about 5 meters.
We have a very beautiful exhibition.
A rather sunny exhibition to the east.
And we will find for example the ceiling which was painted in family.
It is a family work.
It is Felix and his children who painted the different frescoes on the ceiling.
And on top of that, there is something quite special especially on this fireplace.
The fireplace that we find here is composed of two sculptures.
A sculpture here where we find love.
Love attached precisely to the home.
And we will find love also attached here but playing with the demon.
Another subtlety in this room but also in the next that we will see later.
Here we have a small door.
We will go directly into the towers.
And so in this tower, we have a small ideal space to prepare in the morning.
We don't have a bathroom, we don't have a complete toilet.
But here we have a small space to prepare in all intimacy.
Then we will go to the other room.
Here we will find very classically the bathroom of this room.
And from this bathroom, we can go to the other room right next door.
Which can be for example a friend's room.
Here we have a perfect view of the park.
Right here, a very beautiful light too.
Here we find a relatively simple room.
Always with this small corridor and this double opening on this room.
We are here on a fairly classic room.
We find ourselves in the corridor.
And here we will find a room that will rather be a children's room.
We have two rooms exactly.
Or why not a friend's room to be able to have two independences.
We will find a first room here.
Always with this magnificent view of the park.
We will leave this small room.
Right here we have a bathroom.
And here we will find a double room.
Here a magnificent double room.
With also woodwork.
We see here the different woodwork.
Beautiful ceiling height also.
View of the park.
An exhibition to the east as well.
And right there.
Just like in the main room.
We have here a small space.
With a beautiful little juice.
It's absolutely great.
It is hidden in addition behind the woodwork.
It's quite interesting.
So there we finished the visit of the castle.
Inside the castle.
Now we will go to the tennis court.
Pool.
Aerodrome.
And also the annex buildings.
Follow me.
So first singularity that we will see.
First visit of these exteriors.
It's here the fountain.
The fountain here has been sculpted in stone.
With a lot of detail.
It's a great job that has been done.
This fountain will draw directly from the sources.
Of the castle of Chenet.
Then we will go to the hangings.
So there we find this magnificent tower.
Tower with precisely the clock.
And also a bell.
At the top of this tower.
And right here.
The house of the guardian.
Here we are on the north facade of the castle.
We see here precisely the chapel.
Which is relatively interesting.
And an observation.
It is that the door of this chapel.
Is really small.
It forces people to go in by going down.
So we had to bend.
When we entered the chapel.
Within this park.
We will find a path here.
Which will take us.
Directly.
To the pool.
Here we come to the pool.
A nice space here.
We are exposed east.
We are in full sun.
A total opening.
On the sun here and on the light.
With the pool here.
A kitchen space.
And therefore a dining room space.
Outside right here.
Which allows us to enjoy.
The last moments.
Or an afternoon.
Or a good weekend.
We really have a nice space here.
The pool is absolutely beautiful.
It is very hot.
It makes you want to go swimming.
It really makes you want to go swimming.
We will go right away.
Towards the tennis court.
We get out right here.
From the pool.
And we will go directly.
To the tennis court.
Which is right next door.
We really have a proximity.
At the same time we can go swimming.
And go play tennis.
It's really very close.
If you want to do both sports activities.
At the same time go swimming.
And play tennis.
It's really very practical.
So we are always on stone alleys.
To access.
The different facilities.
It's still very nice.
So here we come.
On the tennis court.
So a beautiful tennis court.
Exploitable.
No renovations necessary.
Very very pleasant.
To be able to benefit from this.
In this property.
We saw the pool.
We saw the tennis court.
Now we are going to see the aerodrome.
The take-off and landing runway.
Of the planes.
Within this property.
Promise.
We are here.
On the runway.
Of the aerodrome.
Of the property.
It's quite exceptional.
There are very few private runways today.
Few projects are accepted.
Which allows here.
To have a runway of 600 meters.
Exclusively reserved.
To the owner of the domain.
And their conviviality.
This domain.
We can take advantage of it.
To walk a little bit here.
Because it also extends.
To the agricultural land.
Here up to the wood.
That we see at the bottom.
Which allows to have a runway.
Landing and take-off.
Very convenient for tourist planes.
And so how does it happen?
It's very simple.
We have a hangar of 13 meters by 15.
Which is right in front of me.
Behind you.
Which allows to have your plane.
And then a taxiway.
Which will be about 150 meters.
Which will allow us.
To get to this point.
And this point will be the place.
Where we will be able to put the gas.
And take-off right here.
We see it in continuity of this plan.
Which will allow us.
To take-off.
We will now go back.
Towards the house.
Towards the castle.
To close this visit.
We come to the end of this visit.
We saw this beautiful castle.
We visited its interiors.
As a reminder.
A castle of about 760 square meters.
An area of 27 hectares.
With agricultural land.
An area with this magnificent park.
Dependencies.
A house of guardians.
And also services.
Such as the pool, the tennis court.
And also this aerodrome.
Which is really exceptional.
And very rare today.
So don't hesitate to comment.
Like.
And subscribe to our channel.
To support us.
And share other goods.
I was very happy to share this property.
And to visit it with you.
See you soon.
Thank you very much.
Goodbye.
