The Jonas Brothers chat to Jamie & Amanda about all things new music, married life, and giving the cutest sibling advice to our younger listeners! ❤️ #JonasBrothers #JoeJonas #NickJonas #KevinJonas
I was just, I was the most liked by our parents.
Were you the favourite?
Yeah, wait, he said was.
You're listening to Heart Breakfast with Jamie Thixon and Amanda Holden.
I'm not going to lie to you, our tech system has gone into meltdown this morning
because our guests this morning are global superstars,
the Jonas Brothers, right in the studio this morning.
Guys, thank you.
Can I say, they smell beautiful.
Thank you.
I mean, there is a collective smell.
Do you all wear the same scent?
Is it just a Jonas smell?
Have you sniffed the bottle?
I mean, I don't even need to get up close.
I'm next to them and the aroma that's coming, it's beautiful.
Too much, right?
It's clean.
Okay, it's just enough.
No, it's clean and well brought up.
I like that kind of a smell.
It's great to have you guys back.
Last year was a massive year for you because Happiness Begins was out.
That's the first album in 10 years.
Am I right?
Have I got my numbers right?
Is that right?
Yeah, that's correct.
How did that feel?
Was that nerve-wracking for you guys?
Or was it just nice to be back doing what you do?
It was a little nerve-wracking.
We actually, when we were walking in the studio,
we realized we were here on Valentine's Day,
playing some of the new music for the staff.
So it was nerve-wracking that we didn't want the music to leak.
And we were laughing because we were like,
oh, well, the music didn't leak.
Maybe that was bad and we don't care enough.
Getting back together felt great.
I mean, I think we all had expectation
that naturally the fans would be thrilled.
But then the fans that maybe never listened to our music out there
that kind of came along last year and joined us with Happiness Begins,
it felt really special.
Sure.
Now, of course, you guys are all married.
Is it true that your wives call themselves the J-sisters?
Is there any truth in that?
I think the fans came up with that nickname.
And is it true that they only want you to be starring as love interests in your videos?
So that's the end of any kind of models or, you know?
I don't know.
They're pretty busy.
I know.
Well, that's what I'm saying.
We were lucky enough to get them on a day off, actually.
Yeah, to work with their schedules.
And tell us a little bit more about What A Man Gotta Do.
Joe, what's the song about?
Well, What A Man Gotta Do, the song itself is kind of a plea
for someone's attention and affection.
And the video, we had fun with it.
We worked with the iconic director, I'm blanking, Joseph Kahn.
Sorry, it's early.
I haven't had Nick take 10 coffees.
So we worked with Joseph Kahn, who we're just obsessed with,
and he helped us come up with a really fun concept
where we were like nodding to classic, iconic romance videos.
So everything from a little bit of grease to risky business,
it was a really fun one to shoot.
And we had our lovely ladies in the videos as well.
I have a question.
When did you first meet?
We met, oh man, I met Nick when he was about zero years old.
31 was a really important day in my life when I met him.
Did any of you try to smother each other when you were children?
Because when you have siblings, you love them so much,
you actually try to kill them.
Yeah.
With love, you do with love.
You know this with your children,
they must kind of just smother each other with love.
Yeah, there's a time actually where my daughter hugged our youngest,
Valentina, Alina hugged her a little too hard right as she was a baby.
We were like, okay, we need to watch out for that.
What was life like in the Jonas as kids?
Were you constantly fighting or?
Very competitive.
We were looking at old videos recently,
and it's just a lot of sports from 7 a.m. to the sun's down.
Your mom must have been worn out.
Pretty much.
Well, I think she was okay because we were out of the house the whole day.
You know, that was the time when you got up, got out,
leave and you were gone all day and you didn't have to worry about it.
And so it was a lot of outdoor sports.
I think it's fair to say you're probably the most famous brothers on earth.
So who better to give some of our younger listeners some advice?
I don't know about that.
Just go with it.
Go with it.
I'll go with it.
Some advice about those things.
So we've had loads of young Heart listeners have been in touch
and they want to ask some advice, some sibling advice.
Yes.
Okay, are you up for that?
Okay, here we go.
Here's the first one.
This is Isabel.
Hey, Jonas Brothers.
My name's Isabel.
I'm 11.
My brother, Jeff, always plays pranks on me.
What's one good prank that I could play on him?
Ah, good question there, Isabel.
Depends on how old he is.
Well, if Isabel's 11, imagine they're the same age.
Fireworks.
Do not try this at home.
You know, I think a good prank, hmm.
You know, changing all the numbers in a cell phone to other names.
Oh, that's good.
So every time someone calls, it's like, you know, getting the wrong name.
Yeah, I like that one.
That's good.
Tying his shoelaces together.
Right.
Painting his toenails when he's asleep.
Did you guys ever prank each other when you were younger?
I mean, it's still a thing in our household.
Okay, but I say when you're younger.
I mean, like, now.
I will say, when we were first starting out with the brothers, and we were all kind of
in our early teens, I think that we got that question more than anything else if we pranked
each other.
So we started to get a little fatigued just from the idea that we had to come up with
new ways to prank each other.
But as we've now gotten older, I think we've kind of settled into it.
And we're thinking more and more about how we can best prank each other.
There are lots of ways.
We're open to suggestions if people want to write in ideas for us, that might be helpful.
Well, hang on.
Isabel's asking you.
You're going to find out.
You're giving that back to Isabel.
Yeah, we need-
Spoiled milk in his cereal works.
Oh, vicious.
That's like the worst.
I can't.
Cheesy milk.
How about this one?
Here's our next question for you.
Listen to this.
Morning, Jonas Brothers.
Morning.
I'm Tommy and I'm eight.
My sister Emily always snores.
How can I get her to stop snoring?
Now, this is interesting because my husband snores.
What advice?
Are you a snorer?
I am a snorer.
I have found that the best way for me to stop is to be pushed over on my side.
Gently or quite vigorously?
No, I think it's got to be a little bit of a solid push.
Shove.
Well, you also sleep like you're in a coma.
I do sleep very hard.
Yeah.
Are we ready for our next question?
I'm a big shove.
Hi, Jonas Brothers.
I'm Holly and I'm nine.
My brother Harvey is the goody two-shoes of the family and he always gets his own way.
How can I get my own way in this family?
That was heartbreaking.
It's a hard not love.
Who's the goody two-shoes out of you three?
Growing up, it was definitely Nick.
Okay.
He's keeping quiet there.
Yeah, I mean, I was the most liked by our parents.
Were you the favorite?
He said was.
You have to just find ways.
You know what?
I think she is lovely.
She shouldn't worry about what her parents think of her brother.
Good advice.
Be yourself and you'll love.
Joe and Kevin, were you aware that Nick was the favorite growing up?
Has that been a struggle to deal with as you got older?
You just accept it.
You accept it and then you find out the people that love you.
Can I say, Joe, we all love you here on Heart Breath.
Yes, we do.
I've had so many texts in this morning.
Let me tell you from everyone who loves you as well.
Thank you so much for coming in this morning.
Thank you very much.
This is heart.
