I know I've been berating you on Suicide Squad, and I know you can't say much of anything,
but here's my question.
We're really excited about this one, and really excited about David doing this kind of film.
Can you tell me anything about how it came about, in terms of just like, was the audition
process unique, grueling, interesting in any way?
It wasn't really, I actually got offered this one, I didn't audition, which is a real step
up as an actor when you can get offered things.
So that was great.
And obviously my character has to have like a rapport with Deadshot, because they have
a lot of scenes together, and I guess they knew that Will and I worked well together,
so that was a given, we didn't have to do like chemistry reads or anything like that.
And then I already knew, vaguely knew Jared Leto, who's playing the Joker, and so we've
hung out, and he's like, we get along too.
It's more about like, making sure people who need to get along in the script do get along.
Has he talked to you?
Has Jared talked to you about what he's going to bring to that?
No, I've heard a little bit through David, but not from Jared specifically.
And it's curious to me, because David is such like, if you look at his films, he doesn't
do comic book movies.
Like, he does very grounded, in reality, gritty kind of movies, which is kind of what I think
is very intriguing for a lot of people about what his take is going to be.
Do you feel like that's going to be consistent in this one?
That it's not going to necessarily feel like popcorn movie, it's going to feel like kind
of a grittier take?
I think on the scale of like, you know, Dark Knight's here, and Avengers is here, I think
it's more on the Dark Knight side of things, if you know what I mean.
Like a less, yeah.
