獨家Gangs of Monkeys + 400 Steps = An Unforgettable Panoramic View From Wat Khao Chong Krachok | Prachuap Khiri Khan, THAILAND
Wat Khao Chong Krachok is a must visit if you happen to sojourn Prachuap Khiri Khan, which is a small
town in Thailand.
The panoramic view at the top showcasing both ocean and town is second to none.
Well, there is another mountain on the other side, but the military only allows access on a limited number of days throughout the year. Nevertheless, this one left a deep impression on us.
I did try to wake my wife up from her beauty sleep to leave for the mountain in the earlier hours of the morning, while the sun was still rising, but she was tuckered out from all the walking under the sun from the previous days. Not to worry, we had plenty of water, hat, sunnies, and we didn't forget to slip-slop-slap.
But first, we had to trek through all those monkeys.
I wish I had brought my 360 camera along also, I think I could of safely filmed those monkeys while walking past them, without them noticing. (If they see a camera in your hand, they will very likely go to grab it). There were a few close and tense encounters. No incidents, but we were glad to get past them all.
If you happen to go, whatever you do, don't forget to take a stick!
P.S. If a monkey gives you a big cheesy grin, TAP THAT STICK QUICK. Showing teeth = AGGRESSION, not "Wow, it's great to see you!"
On a side note, if you even so much as get scratched by a monkey in Thailand, let alone bitten, go to the hospital to get checked for rabies. No joke.
But don't let that deter you! It's great fun!
