Los Angeles Lakers vs Brooklyn Nets Full Game Highlights - January 17, 2025 | NBA Season

I'm just trying to take a little time off of that foot. The lob, and underneath! Throw it down! It's not AD, it's Jackson Hayes to start the game for the Lakers. Both ends of the floor, 63-42. They outscored the Heat, but here's defense to offense. And he has played great defense throughout the course of his career. And throwing it down that time is Ben Simmons. He has always. It's just that he doesn't think about the offense very much. Oh, Jamiro throws it down! Right hand! Rolls around and comes out. Their offense took a bit of a hit in the last game. Underneath, Williams puts it up, can't score, but the follow is good. You know, you're absolutely right. Knocked down the triple. Max Christie, career-high four straight games in double digits as they come right back down and answer. To get an open, a shot for an open teammate. Went for a pretty good frame on him, too, Ben Simmons. Not a little guy at all. Count it, and one! Keon Johnson. Johnson, down the middle, he goes. Confronts a trio of Lakers and a rebound to Hayes. Yeah, he was in a real crowd that time. LeBron, little change of pace, and he lays it in with the left hand. Turnover, Christie from the corner. We have bodies on the ground. Christie, again, in front of the bench! Yes, sir! But Christie said, I'm not missing two in a row. LeBron said, prove it to me. Picked by Sharp. He's gonna hang in the air. Trying to penetrate, they can't. Here's Jalen Wilson. Wilson trying to turn, just working on Gabe Vinson and off the window to score. So he pulled him. Lakers, by the way, have missed five out of six. Nets have missed seven out of eight. Until that layup by Delo. Russell, kicked it now to Simmons. He tries to attack, drive, kick. On its way. Wilson hits from three. Not the start the Lakers were hoping for. LeBron gonna catch. Stopped from three and rattles it in. Sharp tried to challenge, but LeBron... Dribble out on top is James with four, with three. Gonna go into his action, which results in a long three! There's that one-legged three that he has all of a sudden brought in regularity in his arsenal. Delo now backs up to the logo. Long three by Martin, and he knocks it down. Tyrese Martin, who went to UConn. D'Angelo has Gabe Vinson right on his hip, and it goes right into Jemison. And now to LeBron in the frontcourt. Is he gonna try to get to the rim? He is! He does! He scores! Over now to D'Angelo. Trying to put a move, and he does put a nice one on Vinson and hits it from the outside. Simmons is back in the game. He's trying to get the ball, but that's not a good pass. And right in the passing lane is... Fronting Simmons was Gabe. Lob underneath! And Jem is by Jackson Hayes! Thank you very much, Gabe! That's the same move Uwamu has made twice now, so if you're a defender, you know what he likes to do. Jackson Hayes! Look out below! One-hand hammer jam! Defender. Borey wanted him, but didn't take the ball. Noah out of Alabama. Rui's open. Gotta knock this down. And he does! Bottom of the well for Rui Hachimura. The other night against Miami with three. And that's really turning it over this quarter. Again! Reeves! He goes and elevates above the rim this time. LeBron down the middle. And here's Hayes after that touch pass. They're gonna get another chance. Multiple opportunities. Now a three-on-one and a finish with the flush. Initial takeaways from the first half? I thought outside of the first six and a half minutes, we really did a good job defensively. Offensively, we just gotta pass. Like, you know, they're switching everything. We've been able to get them in the blender a little bit. And then we're not making that last pass to the open guy. We pass the ball and stay connected offensively. We'll be fine. All right. We appreciate it, James. And they do have the first two baskets, and it's courtesy of the same player. And LeBron, look at this lead pass, trying to find Rui. And it's not gonna happen. That's good hustle play at the other end by Brooklyn. Called a follow jam by Williams. Ten to shoot, three minutes into the quarter. Zings it over now to Christie. And straight up in the air goes Simmons. On the break, the lob. Good jam. Blow it down. And all of a sudden, it is a one-point game. And James is shooting 44%. Right now, the Nets. Lakers only 41%. LeBron baseline. He makes a living on those shots. He makes a living everywhere. Yeah, he really does. Again, playing shorthand is both these teams. Throwing it down. There's Simmons. Ben did not play in that game against the Clippers. There he goes. That's his office, the baseline. Putting up some other numbers. The Lakers only shooting 41% of the game. Russell. A game in every season of his NBA career. Reeves forces his way in and stops on a dime. It scores on the little jumper. Moves over to some open space. And that's no good. Almost threw it down on the offensive rebound. Here comes Brooklyn. Lob underneath. Once again, an alley-oop. Yeah. Went back to 24. And they immediately made the adjustment. Here's LeBron. LeBron out of the way. LeBron scores. Alongside, along with the Hulkster. And of course, the great crew here. Here is LeBron underneath. And LeBron scores after putting his shoulder into the defender. Ben scoring. It's 28-10, Brooklyn. Paint scoring is pretty even, by the way. D'Angelo Russell. Fourth quarter, 74-71. Three again. That's a shot put that goes down for Wilson. D'Angelo once again looking for the lob, but then he taps it to the outside. This is going to be three on the way, so they hit their 11th triple of the evening. Brooklyn trying to come in here and steal one. It would be their 15th win of the year. Well, there's a three-pointer. These two teams have split the last five-season series. Put by James. Out of bounds. Lake is trying to survive this one. And move on to the game with the Clips on Sunday. Reeves in there. He's got a three. At the other end. One for Rui. Out at 85. We continue this dance. LeBron asserting himself from distance. Here's Miami. He's going to have to do it possibly again this evening. Remember the last time we saw Brooklyn, he hit nine threes in a game. Did LeBron. Boy, they are very good. About to move up the chart in yet another category. Reeves over the defender. D'Angelo. Reeves looking to get into the paint. He does. He pulls up and scores again. 11-net-7 out of 12. It's a five-point Laker lead. Reeves again. Under four minutes. Reeves feels like shooting every time. He is shooting every time. He's shooting it. And he's knocking him down. Nine of their 14 here tonight. All the way, drive, kick. Russell's a bench player. He shoots a three and he hits it. Vincent is 50% tonight, but there's one for five from three. All through it, right to Rui. Here come the Lakers. Reeves. LeBron. Finish it. Streak down the middle. Three. Got it. They're still at it. They need a bucket. Lakers digging in on defense. And they got one. Three-pointer. They did get one. Huge upset. You know D'Angelo wants this shot. Yes, he does. D'Angelo with six, with five. On its way. Can't get it. And LeBron takes it. Game over.
