And President Biden stresses that he's the one who came up with this exact ceasefire
deal back in May, and that was ultimately reached under his term.
But he also acknowledges that Trump's team was involved, adding that Trump will be the
one to implement it.
In these past few days, we've been speaking as one team, it would have to be implemented
by the next team.
So I told my team to coordinate closely with the incoming team to make sure we're all speaking
with the same voice, because that's what American presidents do.
Trump meanwhile announced the deal about two hours before Biden did.
In a statement, Trump takes credit, saying this epic ceasefire agreement could have only
happened as a result of our historic victory in November, adding we've achieved so much
without even being in the White House.
The State Department on Wednesday said while the deal was conceived of by the current administration,
Trump's team has been absolutely critical in getting this deal over the line.
And Trump is now vowing to make sure that Gaza never again becomes a terrorist safe
haven.
The Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says he's called to thank both Biden and Trump,
adding that he's meeting with Trump soon in Washington.
