Hello, welcome back. I've just arrived in Grasmere. I've still got the back injury so
light pipe, just doing a day walk and there's actually a wainwright on this route that I
haven't done. It's one of those, I mentioned it in my last video where I've walked right past them
but I didn't know they were wainwrights so this is one I'm hoping to bag and speaking of bagging
I've got someone else helping me today and this is a proper bagger who's bagged all the Munro's.
So yes we're in Grasmere heading up towards Easedale Tarn. We're both still a bit injured
so we can't, every knee can't do any sleeper sense so it's quite gradual this but the views
are lovely around here and it's a beautiful day so hopefully we'll get up to Easedale Tarn and then
take it from there really. There's one, there's one wainwright that I'd like to do but I've done
all the others around here and because I didn't know it was a wainwright it's just sat there
normally you'd tick it off as you went past but I've been past it and not bagged it so
Easedale Tarn that's beautiful and look at that this is a real Indian summer I think we're having
now it's gorgeous really is still with you a bit of a summer aren't we. So can you see the
path now heading up the side of the waterborne then we turn around that way to Easedale Tarn
just looking up to Helm Crag there and I think it's what's that one there after Gibson Knot is it
I have done all these but there's just one up here that I haven't done so hopefully we'll get
to that just depends how how we feel with the injuries we'll keep going. Just a bit further
up now and that cloud base has started to lower and it's got a bit dull see there
there as well hopefully I mean the forecast is for it to brighten so hopefully
it will do. So we've just arrived at Easedale Tarn and it's beautiful really is but that
so much for clearing skies the cloud seems to be actually getting lower but it's lovely that
yeah and what we're planning I think I think it's that one up there
blea rig I think it's called it's about 1,700 feet so I'm not sure there's a path on the map
that goes up there somewhere so we'll have a look at that planning to go in there yeah
someone's planning to go in just measure the temp it's 10 degrees 10.5 oh it's much warmer than 10
it drops off quite quickly goes deep and then it shallows around the rock and you can see she was
walking but uh it's too cold for me so now as I said I think it's that somewhere up there anyway
I'm not sure which one it actually is but I think it's that but uh it's lovely it really is
so we've just moved on a bit further and I thought it was that one there I thought it was that but
now I'm thinking it's that and I'm also thinking if it is that I might have done it god I don't
know what I'm doing with these wet nights I'm sure I've come down there but I probably haven't
actually stood on the summit and all that stuff that you've got to do when you do the way and
I don't do that anyway because I'm not a bagger but um yeah so we'll be turning off this path
very soon I think it's there actually and heading up that way so we've got a bit of
height now and uh I'll tell you what this uh this bleak rig from here look at that
it looks pretty full on from here I don't know where the actual ascent route is I guess it's
round the back but oh that could be interesting that especially with all these wet conditions
you're gonna have to be careful to get to the top of that again I'm not sure whether I mean
it might be them pinnacles there I don't think so I mean that one's anyway we'll uh we'll move on a
bit further and we'll find out we haven't really researched that we just made no that's right we
just thought oh there's one and tick that box so we're heading up at the back of the
crags that I showed you that was bleak crags which uh is around there heading up the back now
towards bleak rig up here somewhere quite steep this
nice into the mist now it's uh 1700 feet something like that up here
is there a bit of a cairn or something that looks like the highest point I guess we'll
have to have a look oh something there is that it might be that or that not sure
anyway I'll go and visit that one and then I've been to them both so that's bleak rig bagged
153 but because we've got a professional bagger on this trip
there she wants to bag another one so we're now looping back round not heading back the same way
there's lee rig up there and it's actually clearing that's going to be a bummer if it
clears when we start heading down blue skies up there as well so I hope it clears look at that
lovely so this is a more gentle route back it's sort of the ground's easier it's not that steep
ascent that we came up back there and it just gradually drops down towards Silver Howe.
Silver Howe's uh another wainwright but it's one I've done but uh Ebony has now started a bit of
bagging on the wainwright just something to do while she can't uh do any summit camps so that's
nice for her as well and uh she wants to do that one so we'll loop around there it's not too far
probably about a mile further on than this but that sun's trying to break through now hopefully
we're going to get some views and that uh cloud just lifts keep going so just dropped out the
clag now and you can see down to Grasmere down there and late Windermere so Silver Howe is just
there and I was just saying to whoever you need this is tiring terrain it's not that far it's only
there but it's quite boggy grassy and it's just up and down all the way to there so it is it is
pretty tiring this anyway we'll plod on so just drop down a bit further now looking down into
Langdale that's lovely that I can hear some music going on maybe there's a there's a campsite
maybe there's a festival or something going on down there there's a big teepee and a marquee
think maybe there's a wedding or something like that I don't know that's lovely though that
that cloud base it's probably about I don't know 1700 feet something like that
anyway we're going that way so we just made it to the summit of Silver Howe and it's lovely
I've been up here a couple of times before just looking down to Rydal and Grasmere down there and
then that's back to where we came from that cloud just still sat just under 2000 feet I reckon on
the mountains but it's been a lovely day really has tell you what someone put some effort into that
that's good that is so look at that
not screech you beautiful views so we're descending back to the car now that's been a
really good walk um you know well we've got the injuries at least we're still getting out
and still doing a bit of exercise so I'll leave you with beautiful views
of Grasmere and Rydal water and look forward to seeing you in the next one see ya
