So I think I'll do this with you if I may.
You'd strike me as a cider man more than a beer man, yes?
Oh yeah, I like cider.
Cider, yeah?
Yeah.
Can you grab a chair for me?
Bring it round here.
Great, just put that on the floor.
Alright, so the reason also why you guys are here is you know I haven't prepared anything with you.
We haven't set anything up here.
Also, just for the record, it's quarter past one at the moment.
You haven't been drinking today.
No.
You haven't drunk anything, I hope.
No, I've come straight out of lectures.
Perfect.
Alright, okay, close your eyes for me.
I want you to imagine that you are having a glass of cider now.
So you bring the pint up to your mouth and you take a sip.
Where's the sort of first location for you that you sort of really would notice the flavour?
The tongue.
On the tongue.
Alright, great.
And then the second as you sort of swallow and it goes down your throat, where would you notice it next?
Back of the throat.
As it works its way down?
The sternum.
Where next?
Top of the stomach.
And was that a back up to your shoulders as well or not?
It's moving there.
Okay, alright.
So shoulders and then where next?
Feel it down my arms.
The legs get involved.
Okay, what about in the head?
Beginning to.
And whereabouts is that?
Is that behind the eyes or is it in the...
In the centre.
In the centre of your head.
Okay.
So imagine that looping around like a C electric track inside of you, okay?
So it's going back to the throat.
How would you describe the sensation in your throat?
It's cool.
A cool sensation in the throat, okay?
And as it goes down to your sternum, what's that like?
Just give me a description of it.
What's the...
It's refreshing.
Okay, and as it goes down to the top of your stomach?
It's filling.
And then it moves up to your shoulders?
It's just a kind of...
The buzz.
And then to your arms and down here as it comes down into your fingertips again, what's that like there?
Tingling.
Alright, and it moves down your legs?
Slightly weaker.
Weaker in the legs.
Okay, and then back up to the head?
Euphoric.
Euphoric feeling, excellent.
A feeling of laughter.
Euphoria that just bursts across the front of your face.
And each time this happens, it gets stronger.
Each time it moves around, you can double it.
Just keep it going, keep it going.
Even as you stand up, you can get twice as strong.
Just feel that.
What's it like?
How does it feel?
I feel drunk.
Yeah.
You having trouble standing?
My legs.
Your hands are sweating.
I'm really thirsty.
Yeah?
And your legs are...
Just shaky, just like I've had too many.
Okay, have a seat.
Keep it going, keep it going.
Now, every now and then, I'm going to show you a word that I've got written here.
Okay.
Alright?
When we do this, it's very important you guys don't see the word that's written down, alright?
Close your eyes for me.
And look at this word.
Each time you see that word, it gets stronger.
That word sets it off.
That feeling, that euphoria just kicks around every time that you see that word.
Great.
And it continues to loop around like that.
And yet at the same time, if you want, it can just clear.
So if you look at me now, just look at me now.
And you can just let that go.
Alright?
Yeah.
And now there's no hangover.
Okay.
You feel good?
That was scary.
But you feel alright now, yeah?
Yeah.
And you can stand normally.
Just stand up again, just so I can see you can stand normally.
Very different, yeah?
Yeah, it's fine.
Okay, sit down again.
So what's that like?
What's it like?
It's like being drunk.
And...
But a funny drunk.
Funny drunk, alright.
Funny drunk.
But you were absolutely feeling the effects of alcohol in there?
