In the first year of Shen Long of Tang Zhongzong, a wealthy farmer named Zong had a well drilled in the back yard of his manor. Although it was more than a thousand feet deep, there was still no sign of water. He did not give up. After drilling for a month, the worker inside the well heard the crow of a rooster and the bark of a dog. When he drilled a few feet deeper, he saw a stone cave on the side of the well’s wall and went inside.
