In this video, I will show you 7 different ways to make easy dishes from rice papers.
The first recipe is croissant. This is a viral dish on social media recently.
I'll start with 2 eggs at room temperature, then add a quarter cup of milk, a tablespoon
of melted butter, 2 tablespoons of sugar, half teaspoon of baking powder, a quarter teaspoon
of vanilla extract. Then mix everything. After that, I will pour it into a large plate.
Then take the rice papers and dip it into the mixture for a few seconds until softens.
When it's done, lay it flat on a clean surface. We have 6 layers for a croissant. Then cut it
into 3 pieces with the triangles in the center like this. Then stack this piece on top and have
one on the horizontal. Now I will start rolling the rice papers. Don't roll it tightly,
just roll it with moderate force. When the croissants are rolled up, I will place them
on the baking trays. Sprinkle some sugar on top. Now, bake them in preheated oven at 180 degree
Celsius for about 30 minutes until brown and crispy. Time's up! This is a nice line to see
the layer inside. It looks quite good, right? The layer is quite similar to the real croissants,
isn't it? The second recipe is Tteokbokki. Firstly, fill a large bowl with warm water,
and gently dip each sheet of rice papers into the water for a few seconds until it softens.
Then, lay the rice paper wrappers flat on a clean surface,
fold into two slices of the wrappers, and then roll it up on the bottom edges.
After that, I will cut it in half. Repeat this process to get more Tteokbokki pieces.
Gently push the skewers through the center of each Tteokbokki piece. This will help them hold
the shape and look great when being served. Now I will make the sauce. I will use 2 tablespoons
of soybean sauce, 1 tablespoon of honey, 1 teaspoon of sesame oil, some tomato sauce,
1 tablespoon of gochujang, 1 tablespoon of cooking wine. Then, stir this well to combine
everything together. Don't forget to add 2 teaspoons of sesame to the sauce. Keep the
sauce on medium heat for a while. Gently add the Tteokbokki to the pan. Make sure they're
evenly coated with the sauce. Last but not least, I will prepare some green onions for decoration.
And there you have it, an easy Tteokbokki made with rice papers on a day you look for
the alternatives for the normal ones. The next recipe is shrimp dumplings.
First, let's prepare our fillings. I will use 250g of shrimps. Then, I will cut half this amount of
shrimp into small pieces and mince the other half. To marinate the shrimp, add a teaspoon of salt,
half a teaspoon of sugar, a quarter teaspoon of black pepper, a teaspoon of sesame oil,
a teaspoon of cooking wine, a teaspoon of cornstarch. Then, mix everything together.
This is where all the flavors come from, so make sure it's nicely seasoned. I'll use rice papers
as a substitute for the dumpling wrappers. Then, cut the rice papers into three pieces.
Now, dip the rice paper wrappers in water to soften them. Spoon a small amount of fillings
into the centers of the rice papers. Fold the sides over the fillings. Then, roll it up tightly.
Pay attention to the fillings to ensure the filling is sealed inside. Now, I will cut the redundant
top of the dumplings. After that, place the dumplings into the steaming pot and cook them
for about five minutes. Take the lid off to see what we have made. Dumplings can be served with
soybean sauce like this. So now, just enjoy it! Now, let's make a Vietnamese street food snack,
which is mixed rice papers or bánh tráng trộn. I'll use five rice paper wrappers and cut them into
square pieces. This will give us the perfect texture for the mixed rice papers. Shake the
bowl to ensure that the rice paper is not sticking together. Go ahead and prepare these other
ingredients. I'll use four minced shallots and saute it evenly in medium heat until brown and
crispy. When it's done, add four minced garlic cloves to the pan. Saute until brown. The final
ingredient is green onions. Saute it in the same way as garlic and shallots. Now, comes the fun
part! Add everything to the bowl. I will use two tablespoons of sacha sauce to build the key flavor
for the dish. Then, add the fried shallots, the garlic, and the green onion into the bowl. Mix
everything together until they are well combined. Add the final touch to the dish by putting some
roasted peanuts on top. And now, just enjoy this tasty snack! The next dish you can make by using
rice papers is Vietnamese pizza. Firstly, I will cut the green onion into small pieces. Then, cut one
sausage into small strips. This will add a nice texture to our pizza. Place a rice paper wrapper
directly into the pan on medium heat. Sprinkle some chopped green onions on top. Pour some egg
yolks over the rice paper. Then, use a spatula to spread the egg around, making sure it covers 80%
of the surface like this. Next, sprinkle some shredded cheese over. The cheese will melt and
hold all the toppings together. Don't forget to add our sausage as well. For the finishing touch, drizzle
some chili sauce and mayonnaise on top to give the pizza a creamy and spicy flavor. Lastly,
carefully fold the pizza in half. And we are done! The next dish is spring rolls. Firstly, prepare two
eggs. Add half a teaspoon of salt and one teaspoon of cooking wine. Beat the egg lightly. Put some oil
into the pan over medium heat. Keep the egg for a while until it's cooked through. Lift the edge
of the omelette and roll it up. After that, I will chop the omelette into strands like this,
thin as possible. Then, we are going to make some pickles by slicing half an onion,
grate half a carrot, put them in a bowl, then add water and some salt. Soak them for a while.
Take them out, then add 3 tablespoons of sugar, 2 tablespoons of vinegar, and mix them together.
Also, mince about 6 cloves of garlic. Next, slice 200 grams of beef and put the beef in the bowl.
Seasoning the beef with one teaspoon of salt, half teaspoon of pepper, and one teaspoon of
oyster sauce. Mix them up and marinate for about 15 minutes. Next, add half this amount of prepared
garlic into the pan and sauté until browned. Then, put the beef in and sauté quickly over high
heat. Now, dip the rice paper wrappers into a place of warm water to soften them. Put the wrappers
on a clean, flat surface for rolling. For the fillings, I'll start by putting some fresh salad
on the wrappers. Then, top that with some egg strands. Go ahead to add some beef. And finally,
add some pickles to finish it. Now, I will pull the bottom of the wrappers and roll it over.
Keep the fillings compact when rolling upwards to this end of the wrappers. Then, pull each side
over to enclose the fillings. Repeat the step until the fillings are used up, and we get a
dish of spring rolls like this. Next, we are gonna make the dipping sauce. Pour half a cup of water
into a bowl with the rest of minced garlic and minced chilies. Add 2 teaspoons of sugar,
1 teaspoon of fish sauce, 2 teaspoons of vinegar. Stir the mixture so that all the ingredients are
mixed well. Now, the sweet fish sauce is done. Here we go. Just enjoy the fresh spring rolls
with the sweet sauce. Now, moving to the last recipe, I will show you another version of spring
rolls, which is fried spring rolls. First, mince some scallions. Then, take about 50 grams of
shiitake mushrooms and mince them as well. Next, mince about a quarter of an onion. Rest half a
carrot into small pieces. Go ahead and cut 150 grams of bean sprouts into short pieces as well.
Now, I will make the fillings with 200 grams of ground pork. Add all the prepared ingredients,
including carrots, scallions, mushroom, onions, and bean sprouts. Season the fillings with half a
teaspoon of salt, half a teaspoon of black pepper. Then, mix everything together by hand. When
mixing, add one egg to the mixture. The eggs will play an important role in making ingredients stick
together. Now, prepare half a cup of water to hydrate the rice papers and add a teaspoon of
vinegar in. The vinegar will make the wrapper crunchier when frying. Gently rub some water on
both sides of the wrapper. Place the fillings on the wrapper. Pull the edge of the wrapper and
roll it over, pressing down a little bit. Pull each side over to enclose the fillings. Continue rolling
it over until your spring roll is fully wrapped. Then, pour the oil into the pan. We are going to
fry the spring rolls on medium heat. Fry them until the wrapper is brown and crispy. Now, stick the
spring rolls out of the pan and let them sit for a while. You can make the fish sauce as introduced
in the previous spring rolls recipes. Personally, I prefer chili sauce more, so just pick up any
sauce you prefer. If you find my video interesting, don't forget to like and subscribe. Thanks for
