Khalid discusses the evolution of songs on his new album ‘Sincere’

We're back it's a Friday morning kicking off this long holiday weekend just right ladies and gentlemen. I can have the rotation of my spot a fight I didn't realize it's been almost what a for a full length album almost 5 years 5 years. I can't out of the world has to feel it feels it's amazing. Yeah, look at the crowd look at all of you. I wouldn't trade for anything in the world. It's taken 5 years to put out the album but in reality is you actually started writing some of the songs back in 2000 right. There's songs on this album as old as 2000. So why. 2020 to death to that. It's a prodigy. Big story, but why did you decide now is the time. Because I feel like patience is a virtue and I really wanted to take my time so that my fans really so and connected with this album. I really wanted to be vulnerable and I'm just so thankful that they waited this long to hear me so thank you guys so much. 2017 during that point. You are here for a concert. We were treated to that do you do you remember that that that time I do I remember what I was wearing and I remember how my hair is looking at all. And what would you tell what would you tell Khalid of 2017 today. Just hold on because he got a wild ride coming. Wild awesome right so let's think back to your first album American teen you had all these teenage fans and your fans are very loyal so they're growing up with you and now we've got sincere and you're growing up right alongside them so what would you say to those fans. Just keep holding on and keep loving your heart keep kindness in your heart. And I'm proud of all of you I see some familiar faces out there so I'm so happy that we all get to group growth through this journey together so yeah, thank you.
