Hello, my name is Claudio, as you may already know, and welcome to today's video.
Today we're talking about English words in common use, and this video will probably be
the shortest video ever.
So the subtopic is art, and we're going to have a look at just three words.
The first one being spray.
Now how do you translate spray in Italian?
Well you don't.
In Italian, people use the word spray as well, however, they spell it in English, but they
pronounce it in Italian.
Spray, spray, spray, this is how you pronounce it.
Collage, I'm not sure if it comes from English or French, either way, it's pronounced exactly
the same, it means exactly the same, and the spelling is also the same, so there's not
much to say about it.
Clown, clown doesn't change in meaning from English to Italian, same for the spelling,
but the pronunciation is a little bit different.
As opposed to clown.
So this is one of the words where you can really tell whether a person is speaking with
Italian sounds or English sounds, depending on whether they pronounce this word and words
like this one with a sudden change or with a diphthong.
With a diphthong is clown.
With a sudden change is clown, a-u, a-u, clown, using the Italian vowels.
This is it from me for today, I will see you in the next video, practice, practice, practice,
take care and see you soon.
