My twin granddaughters want me to buy them a ground blind. I'm headed to Walmart to find
the cheapest ground blind I can get. If I can find a ground blind less than a hundred dollars,
that's the one we'll take home with us. Ground blinds are super fun to hunt from. I think that
if they put this ground blind in the right spot, in the right conditions, that they'll be able to
harvest a big deer. Oh, but there's a catch. They have to figure out where that spot is
and how to set it up properly. Let's go. All right, made it to Walmart. Let's run in here.
Let's get the cheapest ground blind that we can find.
Walk on back here past the bikes and stuff and should be down here on the right past the fishing.
A couple targets. I need some archery stuff. Here's some ladder stand stuff. So let me look
in here. I got three to choose from. So let me show you what they got. This is, uh, don't,
don't, hey, hey, what does that get? Don't, don't mind that. This was $94 Hubstall ground blind
Ameristep. This one's $139 Vision 270. That looks pretty awesome, but we're going for the
cheap stuff here, right? And then I don't know what the price is on this one, but
my assumption is it may be more expensive than $94. So let me ask the associate
what the price is on this. And we might go from there.
Oh, $98. So it's $4 more than this one. So we're going to go with the $94 one
and use it. And we see if we can't kill some deer out of it. $94. Now the girls
will have to figure out where it goes. The best place to shoot out of it. $105 after taxes
at a Mountain Dew Zero is the peanut butter M&Ms.
Oh, I thought it was pretty cool though, is the lady that you saw ring up the price. She was like,
are you making a YouTube video? And I said, yes, ma'am. We are. And she was like, I'm going to go
check it out. I like watching those types of videos on the YouTube. So I thought that was
pretty cool of her, man. So I gave her a sticker. I had a sticker in my wallet. So I gave her a
sticker. I usually carry stickers in my wallet. So like if I meet viewers out and about, I have
something to give to them, you know, cause it, uh, we really appreciate you guys watching the videos.
Let's take this, uh, ground blind and see if we can't get the girls to set it up in a good spot.
Made it down into the woods. In Florida, you can bait deer, by the way. Well, I know a lot
of places you can't, but you can bait, you can bait deer here. Well, I've got my camera set out.
I've got some corn thrown on the ground there. Now the girls are going to have to figure out
wind directions, uh, looking at the tracks and seeing where the deer are coming out
and where, uh, they're going back into. This is a swampy area here. And I've got a trail camera
on that tree there. Got the corn out right there. So I'll let the girls come down here and evaluate
where they think that the animals are coming out. But one thing about it is I think they
came out right here. I'm pretty sure they did. But I got something on the trail cam
that'll blow your socks off. Take a look at this guy right here. Man, is that not a big bobcat?
Holy moly. So I think the girls are going to have to be able to figure out where they want
the ground blind to be set because the range of their crossbow effectively 30 yards, let's call
it 30 yards. So they'll sight in their crossbow and then they'll set up their ground blind
in an area that is get close enough to this corn spot right here, corn pile,
and still have your wind direction because you got to get, you got to ingress and egress here
so you're blind. You got to be able to get a clean shot out. You got to be able to make sure
the wind is not blowing. You got to make sure that your scent is not going in the direction
of the wind travel. If I had to put it up myself, here's where I would go. I would clean out a
little spot right there and that would be, so that's probably 10 yards, 15 yards. That's about
15 yards. But based off my camera activity, I think they're coming from over there and then
going in. I think that's how they're traveling. Now I do see some tracks here and they may walk
around the outside of the swamp here, but I've got a stand. I don't know if you can see it.
I'm not zoomed in, but in that big tree right there, there's a tree stand.
But I don't want them hunting from the tree stand. I want them hunting from the ground blind.
So they have some choices. They can either put it over there in between that clump of trees
so that's somewhat concealed and maybe catch them coming out this way,
or they can set it over here and catch them coming this way. They got a lot to think about,
but one thing about those girls is they're really smart and they'll figure out, you know,
they'll take a look at their hunting apps and they'll take a look at, you know, the trail cam,
see where the deer coming in, coming out, and they'll make the best decision. And if they don't,
they won't kill a deer, but that's part of the learning process. But I think they're good.
They're smart. They'll figure it out. Let's take the blind out of the box and see what it looks
like. Comes with a carrying case. Comes with a safety manual. I just want to see how big the
blind is. 63 inches, 65, 50, footprint's 50, 50, 50 by 50. Got some tie down straps and hooks here.
Let's take a look at this wire here. Yeah, really small footprint. It actually,
it actually is a pretty, feels like a pretty good quality. Zippers look pretty good.
A single person, I don't think two people can fit in here. Simple latch type windows here. I mean,
it's a ground blind, right? Lots of windows. No windows on the backside here, but it's not,
it's not bad at all. Front's got the logo on it. $94. Not horrible. What I do wish it had though,
I wish it had an orange on it. I don't see any orange on it. Let's take it down, put it back
in the bag. Let the girls come out and evaluate the spot where they want the blind to go.
While I'm down in the woods, I'll check. I've got cameras on all my feeders except for this
little corn pile that I threw out here. So I want to come see if anyone has, anyone,
I want to come see if anything has messed with this corn since I throwed it out here.
I threw it out, I want to say two nights ago. So let's see if indeed they have found it yet. They
may not have found it yet, but I'm going to have to put my Crocs in for a little dry out here.
Hmm. Look at the path and it goes this way. So they haven't found it yet. I don't have a camera
on this corn. I just have to wait, I guess. Bring another camera out. I got two cameras
in my house that don't work. I put brand new batteries in them and everything.
All right. The girls will be here shortly. The girls made it finally. Yeah. I know. Yeah.
I just wanted to say thank you for everybody wishing me to get better and all your prayers.
I felt a hundred times better, but now let's talk about this ground blind behind me. Come on.
This way. Y'all can see it right here obviously, but I don't know if y'all can. It's camouflage.
So how we have it, it's, I mean y'all might not be able to tell
really, but it's pretty much, it's tucked in into this back little corner. Yeah. There's like
wood this way. And then there's wood like this way. And it's like in the middle of the corner.
So we got it tucked into this little corner. We got it here. And there's a lot of factors that
we had to go through to really like decide where we wanted to put this ground blind
because wind, make sure the deer can't see us. What else is there? Just making sure we're tucked
away and hidden obviously. Yeah. Because, and it's also, oh, and it's easy to like access and
get in and out of. And because obviously whenever you're trying to get into your ground blind and
morning, evening, whenever you prefer to hunt, you don't want to be making all this noise and having
to wiggle around trying to get into your little hunting spot. But yeah, I think y'all picked a
good spot. It is tucked away nicely. And then you can also, how far is it? It's about 30 yards to
where, from where our deer come out usually are. So it's a good, good range for bow. Right. So this
is what I told the girls. I said, think, think about the factors where you want this ground
blind to go. And they've talked about that, you know, winds and all that, what we've just talked
about and that's where they picked it up or that's where they decided to drop it. I think,
I think it's a good spot. I think you're going to be happy with that. I think it's a good spot too.
I think what we do need to do though, we just add, we need to add a little more around it. Yeah,
a little more camouflage. So let's do that right quick. And then, um, tomorrow morning we'll be
hunting this hammer knock away thing. We sure will. I think, and I'm pretty, we'll have a good chance
of shooting something. I think, I think so. We got, we got, we got, well, I think we got enough
deer that's going right there. If you're, if you don't wear too much perfume, you might be all right.
Yeah. Well, where we have it, the wind won't catch it and blow it. There you go. Yeah. Maybe
they're attracted to diesel. Is that what y'all are wearing? What is that? Diesel. It's a French,
it's a French perfume. Is that what you're wearing? Yeah. I wear diesel. Um, somebody help him,
please. Somebody help him. Let's just throw a couple more limbs on it to somewhat camo it.
And if y'all might notice, I got this amazing shirt on. It's pretty rad. It's pretty rad. Y'all
can get some just like me. It's that new design. Yep. Brand new. Take it outside. This is actually
like my favorite shirt. My favorite shirt is the white one though. I like the white one better.
The material is like, it's soft. I don't know how to describe it. It's tri-blend to be technical.
It's tri-blend. Oh, you get the tri-blend. But it's like super soft, but it's also,
Frankie loves them too. Go to Hamiltonvillefarm.com and you can get you a t-shirt. That'd be awesome.
Yeah. Back to the main part of the video though. Let's uh, let's throw a couple more limbs on it
and get it disguised. I'm just gonna cut a tree down. These are the best to disguise your
grandma. Maybe I shouldn't cut the whole tree down because we still need some camouflage
in like the tree, you know, lean it up against it.
Yeah. One gust.
Looks like it's naturally growing at it.
Whoever did this needs to be fired. Was that you? Yeah, you need to be fired.
You're fired. If I were a deer walking down the road, I wouldn't notice it.
Yeah, it's okay. If I were a human walking down the road, I probably wouldn't even notice it.
My shoe keeps coming untied. Someone needs to teach me how to tie my shoes properly apparently.
This is like the third time I've had to retie my shoe. Oh, I also wanted to mention, um, this
channel ain't about hunting and fishing. This channel's about family. I get to spend time with
my granddaughters. They get to spend time with their granddad. And I'm not their dad. He pays us.
I'm not their dad. Yeah, yeah, I do. There is a lot of people that think. You're lucky to be their
dad. I'm not their dad. If y'all was my daughters, y'all would stay grounded. I don't know what I
would do if I was your daughter. Yeah, you would. I'd probably go crazy. You'd be, you'd seriously
be grounded. I'd seriously be the coolest person ever. I mean, everyone would think I'd have the,
I have the coolest dad. Yeah, let's look at you. Watch you on frosty. Let's go, let's go hunt
tomorrow morning. I just put Dub in her stand. Now we're going to go to wait.
Okay guys, I just made it to the ground blind and it's still really dark outside. So I'm just
hoping, praying that a deer comes out. It's only 541 right now and the deer usually walk around
six. So I still got a good 20 minutes, but I will, I will pay y'all later.
Got my babysitter's tent and I got a doe here. It's 630 and nothing. I haven't seen anything yet,
but it's finally bright enough outside.
This ground blind has a great view of the whole field and the road. So I hope something walks
out because I'll be able to see it before it sees me obviously, but it's still pretty dark out here,
but hopefully a deer comes out soon. Fingers crossed,
maybe a buck will follow that out, but there's no telling. I hope someone deer almost set on a
doe. There's something I think is quiet. There's a deer running somewhere because I just heard it
blow. Maybe it'll come over here so I don't see it, but I heard it. Still nothing to look out for.
Windows on this side, but I can't see anything. So I don't know where that deer was.
I have no idea what is outside the ground blind right now.
I don't see anything.
There was just a really loud, something really loud that just like dropped by or something.
I don't know what that was.
You look, you look sleepy.
Well, we couldn't get Zee up this morning. She was not happy this morning. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Anyway, we both saw deer. Yep. Yeah, I saw a doe, but we're not,
I mean, we'll kill a doe. I mean, yeah, we will, but we didn't, I guess. I would prefer not to,
but I mean, I will if I need to. Yeah. Anyway, so how do you like the new ground blind? I like it.
It was good. It was spacious. Yeah. I could turn and see everything. Yeah. The spot was really good.
I could see all the way down the road. I could see the left and right of me. Right, right, right.
Cool. All right. So good job. Good job picking it out. Anyway, we're going to go, you know,
go get some breakfast. Yes, please. You guys take care. God bless.
