Donations pour in over the holidays, but there's still a need for more

the season of giving donations are pouring in into organizations across the Tri-State region yes people make room in their homes for holiday gifts they're old become someone else's new action news reporter Katie catro live outside the Salvation Army in Roxboro today with much more on the spirit of the Season Katie yeah that's right giving is on many people's minds this time of the year and for nonprofits while it's greatly appreciated it's also keeping them busy it's a big donation Day end of the month end of December end of the year it's always one of our busiest times at the Goodwill donation center in haddenfield New Jersey we saw a steady stream of people dropping off donations it's for a good cause and it's very easy how much easier could it be for many the end of the year is the time to give back because it feels good it's awesome to be able to take things that are in like really good condition and pass them on to somebody else who needs them um during the holidays but all year as well the tax write off is just extra it is a nice bonus to it's really easy just go in print your own receipt and then send it in with your taxes at the Salvation Army in Roxboro donations are down but expected to spike donations are actually down on the year so we're a little nervous but we do have more coming in at the end of the year there's always that jum a lot of folks say they donate now to make room for the new gifts they received for the holidays the end of the year and I try to get rid of things as I'm buying new things and I know that there are many people who are less fortunate just trying to get rid of some good stuff that I don't necessarily need but somebody else could could have and could have the opportunity to reuse and repurpose now if you're wondering what to give the Salvation Army says they are looking for clothing donations and there is still time to give before the year ends reporting live in rock Sparrow Katie catro Channel 6 Action News Brian yeah always a good time to give Katie thank you
