RAM Qualifying Highlights | MXGP of West Nusa Tenggara 2024
Here's what happened round 11 of the FIA Motocross World Championship.
The MXGP of West Nusa Tenggara at Lombok.
The MX2-RAM qualifying race.
And it was Sascha Kuhnen who crossed the Foxholeshot line,
closely followed by Kaido Wolf Simon Langenfelder,
who almost fell between the two singles there.
Lukas Kuhnen got alongside him and moved into third
as he went down past Pit Lane.
Then Sascha Kuhnen fell on the next lap.
He picked himself up in seventh, but as you can see, he gained an advantage here
and was docked five positions at the end of the race.
Kaido Wolf, top of your screen.
He then tipped out of the lead as well, picked himself up in second,
then dropped to third as Langenfelder went through.
And then mid-pack, or just a few positions further back.
Mikkel Harp got the better of Zanke.
Everts went through as well, and then Everts found his way past the Dane.
These two were now fifth and sixth.
And that's where they would stay.
Two laps to go.
Watch this, Langenfelder tries to get across De Wolf
as they battled over second.
De Wolf went the opposite way
and took the second position away from the German anyway.
But for the third time this year, Lukas Kuhnen on the Nistan Husqvarna
crossed the line to win the RAM qualifying race from his teammate Kaido Wolf.
It was a Nistan Husqvarna 1-2, Langenfelder for Red Bull Gas-Gas was third.
And then we had the Red Bull KTMs of Andrea Adamo and Liam Everts.
Then we had Harp, Zanke, Chambers, McClellan and Oriol Oliver.
No change in the top eight positions in the championship.
In the MXGP RAM qualifying race,
Geisser and Prado went bar-to-bar into the first turn.
Geisser pushed the Spaniard wide.
That allowed Herrlings to nip up the inside.
Look at Prado, who's about seventh or eighth.
Villanren had nipped into third and then fourth as Bogers went through.
Villanren spun up, he lost a few positions as well.
And then we had our first real episode of the race.
Over the Monster Energy Triple, Bogers cases in third and behind a few positions further back.
Guadagnini, he went through the front door, picked himself up,
came in for some running repairs, eventually got back into 14th place
by the time the chequered flag fell.
Villanren making up for that mistake, coming out of turn two,
snuck up the inside of Jan Pantser on lap two to get into fifth,
which is where the Monster Energy Yamaha rider would finish.
And Jorge Prado made this pass on Jeremy Siwa as he found his way into third.
That was also on lap two.
He then went after Tim Geisser.
But before he could get to Geisser,
Herrlings had moved around the outside of the Slovenian into the lead on lap four.
About three laps later,
it was Jorge Prado who closed in on the Slovenian outside, inside,
found his way past into second.
But by then, Jeffrey Herrlings was too far gone.
Prado still had some work to do.
And even though Tim Geisser was there keeping the Spaniard honest,
it would finish with Jeffrey Herrlings crossing the line
to take his first REM qualifying race win of the season,
his first pole position in 2024.
Jorge Prado followed him over the line in second.
Tim Geisser was third.
And then Jeremy Siwa, Calvin Villanren, Kevin Horgmo, Valentin Ghio
and Jan Pantser picking up a Andrea Bonacorsi nine.
Glenn Koldenoff picking up the final point in tenth place.
And no change in the top eight in MXGP after that REM qualifying race.
