Chinese Traditional Story: Danzhu Changes Into a Bird

Emperor Yao, who lived in the 24th century BC, had ten sons. Among the sons was Danzhu, the eldest, who was arrogant and tyrannical. He often traveled the country and was followed by a group of people that included royal ministers. If he saw anything that he didn’t like it, he would lose his temper—even a very small problem that did not satisfy his desires would lead him to berate his ministers. At that time, there was a flood throughout most of the land, so Danzhu usually traveled by boat.
