Hey guys, Joy here, Holistic Nutritionist and mom to this one.
Who are you?
Vienna.
And what are we going to make today?
Plant Power Balls.
We're calling these Plant Power Balls because they're packed with phytonutrients from plant
foods, antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals, and fiber, and we've also put some Greens
Plus into them.
So all we're going to do is take all our ingredients here, toss them into our food processor.
This is a great recipe to do with kids as well, and then just roll them into little
balls.
Yeah.
You like the rolling part best, right?
Yeah.
That's so much fun.
Roll, roll, roll.
Okay, so we're going to use our food processor because when you're making any type of energy
ball and you want to chew up nuts and you want to chew up all of the ingredients, food
processors are really ideal.
So we're going to start with our Medjool dates.
We've soaked these.
We've got 10 dates here that we soaked to make them a little softer, and these are like
the glue that holds everything together.
There's a little bit of water there, but that's totally okay.
Rich in fiber, and they also add a nice natural sweetness.
Now we are also going to add some oats, so we've got a cup of oat flakes here.
Very blood sugar balancing.
Great for your immune system.
Can we dump it in?
Yeah, yeah.
Dump it in.
And that gives our balls some good like substance and meatiness.
Then we're going to add some cashews.
Now if you buy cashew pieces, they're definitely cheaper than buying the whole cashews.
And dump it in, yep.
So we've got a cup there.
You want raw cashews, okay?
So unroasted, unsalted.
If you want a little bit of salt in this, you could just add like a pinch of salt.
There's nothing wrong with that.
I often add a pinch of salt to recipes that are sweet.
Okay, we now are going to add our shredded coconut.
Unsweetened.
Dump it in.
Yeah, dump it in.
Dump it in, girl.
So lots of good fats in there, and lots of fiber.
So these plant nutrients are excellent for gut health.
They really help to nourish the gut ecology.
And also we're going to add, this is optional, yep, show the camera.
We're going to add, those are dried sour cherries.
They add such a nice bite to this recipe.
You could add dried blueberries, you could add cranberries, you could add raisins.
Because sour cherries are not always the easiest to find, but honestly any other dried fruit
will do.
And then we are going to add our Greens Plus.
So this Greens Plus has 23 super energizing phytonutrient, antioxidant rich plant foods.
Everything from alfalfa to chlorella, sprouts, bee pollen, probiotics, milk thistle.
It is packed with goodness.
And because this one's called Malty, it also is a serving of a multivitamin and a multimineral
supplement too.
And something else I like to add to this, which gives it a really nice, bright, zesty
flavor is some fresh lemon juice.
Okay now we're just going to blitz it up.
Super easy.
So high power food processor.
This is a large food processor.
This recipe, because of the number of ingredients, won't work in a mini.
So you're just going to blitz it.
Okay, you don't want to process it to a fine powder, because you want to get some of those
like chunky bits of the dates or of the sour cherries.
So I'm just going to test the sticking power and see if I need to process it a little longer.
Oh no, that's actually perfect.
There.
So see?
They stick together like perfect little balls.
The other thing you can do is give it a little taste test as well to see if they're the taste
you want.
Mmm.
So if you are sharing these with little ones, I would recommend swapping out the Greens
Plus for the Fermented Organic Gut Superfoods for Kids.
So this is an awesome power snack, or in the morning you could have this along with an
energizing smoothie to keep your blood sugar balanced and keep you feeling energized and
joyous.
So thanks for watching, guys, and we really hope you try this recipe.
Right, Sienna?
Do we hope we try it?
Yeah.
Do we hope they try it?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Bye, guys.
Say bye.
Bye.
