Infinite Consciousness Knows Nothing, but Is Everything

If it is true that infinite consciousness knows nothing of the world, or of us as individuals, how can we say that God loves us unconditionally, or that God is love?

Rupert explains: ‘In the very highest understanding, God knows nothing of the universe. It is only possible to know something as a separate object. Infinite consciousness cannot stand apart from itself, therefore it cannot know an object. So, it knows nothing, but it is everything.

‘However, for most people that is too high a truth to stomach. As a compassionate concession, the teaching says God’s nature is love and, as such, God’s primary relationship with us as apparent individuals is love. The highest state of the individual would be to develop this personal relationship of love with God.’
