This channel covers a lot of motorcycle vlog type of content. We talk about all things motorcycles, product review, video editing, and cinematic type of sequences. I ride a 2020 Harley Davidson Road Glide Special and we travel to as many motorcycle rallies and other events throughout the year.
Well hello, welcome to another video. I'm pretty excited because today we're going to hit 50,000
miles on the bike. That means we're halfway to the goal of 100k and the 50k service is a big one,
but I'm going to wait to do that until I get back home, but she definitely needs an oil change.
We've already gone over 5,000 miles on this trip through all those heat elevations, so let's get
on the road. All right, well this is going to be interesting. I was dealing with so much hot
weather the last couple days. I totally forgot about rain and it looks like there's a possibility
I could get dumped on here, and I'm debating do I jump into rain gear or do I just power through,
see if I can get to the dealership before the rain comes in. And I don't know, it looks like
we're turning right into it. You guys know me and my luck. I'm going to get into rain gear.
That was perfect timing. It's starting to rain right now.
Weirdest thing ever. I just walked into this dealership and there's like nobody here.
Hello? I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that they're not going to be able to get my
service done. However, we've got this dealership and now there's that dealership. They both say
Harley-Davidson on it, so I'm going to go next door, I guess, or just take any bike I want.
I thought I was going to Salem Harley-Davidson, but it's called Timbertown.
I guess one is the used apartment, the other one is the new and service department, so
it's probably my fault.
Well, sometimes things don't go as planned. A lot of the dealerships around here, their shops are
closed Sunday and Monday, so I'm not going to be able to get service done on my bike until at least
tomorrow. By that time, I'll be in California. I met a good salesman here in Salem, Oregon,
who's from not only just San Diego area, but Santee, where I currently live in San Diego.
His name is Scott. Really good guy. If you guys are up in Salem, come visit him.
Now, he pointed me in the right direction to get us over to PCH, so let's go.
I show up, and everybody's sitting in their car. It was kind of eerie,
and then you realize they don't pump their own gas around here. So I talked to the clerk, I guess,
just two weeks ago, they changed the law where they can pump their own gas.
All right, so important topic here. I am going to tell you that traveling around on a motorcycle,
I find a lot of beautiful places to visit and places that I'm like, oh, I could live here.
Along with that, I find places that I would never want to live, and no offense to anybody from
Oregon, Salem, Oregon area, I do not see myself ever living here.
It's just the roadways, the traffic. I feel like people don't know how to drive.
You'd figure they get enough rain, they should be able to drive in the rain.
They're stopping on yellows. It's just weird. It's a different vibe. So that's just my opinion.
I don't see myself ever being able to live here. But now, finally, I will tell you after this
So this is in the Seal Rock portion of Oregon, and we're just going to continue on going down
the 101. I mean, but I'll show you what we got right here. You know what? I got a better idea.
So this, for me, is kind of like one of those bucket list trips. You know, just get a chance
to take Pacific Coast Highway on a motorcycle. It's something that I've always thought about
doing ever since I bought this bike. It's just crazy because look how, you know,
you see how lush and green this area is. The ocean right here, it's very unique.
And I've been told by several people that the PCH, Pacific Coast Highway, truly doesn't get to be
awesome until you get north of San Francisco. So I figure we'll take it in reverse and start
in Oregon and take it all the way back down through California. Like I said, we're going to
be staying in the Redwood area this evening, so we still got several hours of riding to get in.
So let's go ahead and, you know, crush those beautiful miles.
Everything will be gone in a minute, and that's all right. Running through the last of my thoughts.
Standing on the edge of my chance. Everything I know will be gone in a minute, and that's all right.
Things that's really cool about this portion, at least what I've done thus far, is that
it kind of starts by the water and then pushes you out inland through these trees, and then it
kind of does a hybrid ocean on one side, trees on the other, and then sometimes you're just
just on a road with water on both sides. Yeah, it's pretty crazy. So it's been really nice so far.
You know, just the green. I just cannot believe how green it is over here.
And I look at all these, you know, there's even houses and stuff like that. It'd be crazy to have
your address be off the 101. I'm not sure if I'd like it or not, just because you'd have to deal with
people like me all day long come and visit this area. But it is definitely pretty.
You know, and the roads are fairly well maintained, I'd say. I'd give them
maybe a 7 out of 10, at least this stretch. But I've been enjoying just kind of cruising along.
Not in a rush to do anything. If I see cool spots to put the drone up, I will. The wind is pretty
strong today, at least in this area. Maybe it'll get better as the day goes on.
All right, I thought I'd just jump in here real quick and let you know that we are 68 miles from
the Redwoods. That section right there that we just went through is super cool. I mean, you got that
that big huge cliff going down to the ocean and then it turns you inland and you go through this
awesome little canyon area. Absolutely loved it. It's a pretty awesome ride, I will tell you.
The traffic in itself, it's a little bit more than what I had in my mind, but it's manageable.
It's not too bad. But I think that my lungs are a lot cleaner right now, just with all the greenery.
Super cool ride. But yeah, we'll end up in the Redwoods. You gotta see that marine layer coming
in there. I'm hoping we don't get hit by any of that. All right, let's get through 68 more miles.
So this beach has like a different feel to it. I mean, I don't know, it's probably the rocks in
the water, but it's just so peaceful. Just check this out for a second. It's pretty rad. Yep, I had
to take a few minutes at that beach spot and just kind of sit there for a second.
Let's take it all in. This is definitely a, you know, a bucket list kind of a trip.
And sometimes I forget to just, you know, take a moment. All right, can we talk about those
drone shots for just a second? How freaking awesome were those? Oh, I just love it.
It looked good in camera, so I know that when it looks good in camera, it will definitely
look good in the edit. That marine layer is starting to come in really, really quickly,
so I'm slightly concerned. Like, as we make this turn here, I'll show you.
Like, you can see it forming up right here. Like, it's coming in real quick, and it's very,
very thick. I still have 30 miles left, so that's definitely something I do not want to get stuck in.
But I had to get the drone up for it because I even wanted to do some drone still shots,
which I did. And those are up on my Instagram if you guys want to check that out.
But 30 miles to not get stuck in by thick marine layer, we gotta get moving.
All right, I found a place to stay for the night, a motel. And in the next video,
it's all about the Redwoods, so make sure you're subscribed if you haven't already. Folks,
I appreciate you guys following along. Until next time, you guys ride safe, you be safe,
and I'll catch you on the next one.
