Strongest Bowling Ball of 2024? | Max Hook Unleashed!

All right, what's going on everyone? Welcome to the channel. We have a sweet ball for you. Look at this thing. Let me get close. The all new Ion Max. The colors look great. What are we thinking about this thing, Kyle? It gives me like a cotton candy vibe. Definitely. A little cotton candy, but we got a beefed up Ion. I know the Ion was a, it was a big hit. A lot of people liked it. So let's get into this review. So the original Ion that came out was two, three, four months ago, probably. And we have it here on the rack and it was not designed to be the strongest ball. It didn't have a whole lot of diff, which is the flare potential. It didn't flare a whole lot. Very, very popular ball. The mixture of strength, the face to cover with a little bit less diff in the core was really, really good. Middle ground. Yeah, very, very benchmarky ball right here. Very much so. They took that core and slapped a part on the side of it that gave it more diff. Okay, so now this new Ion Max is literally maxed. It's maxed out, baby. It is similar to one of your really, really strong asymmetric. I don't think it's going to be as strong as the gym or anything, but it is designed to be a hook monster. It's designed to be bold on oil. So really excited about this ball. We're going to trial it out here on a 41 foot Montreal, which is a sport pattern. However, it is easier. It is easier than our house shot. Yeah, we originally had the house shot out and immediately reoiled to an easier sport shot because I don't know what they're doing on this old, it's an old house shot. They don't use it anymore. And for good reason, because it is tough. We don't bowl good on it. No. Let's see this beefed up Ion. All right. All right, so a little warmup shot. Plenty of oil out on this pattern. Way more than the house shot. Yeah, so the biggest difference, you know, like we said, the original Ion, it's going to be benchmarky. When there's a ton of oil out there, you're probably not going to want to throw it. But this one specifically is meant for heavier, you know, oil conditions. It's going to flare more. Ball's going to read a lot more. So if there's a lot of oil out there, you can throw this ball. Oh yeah, send it. Being aggressive. All right, we got some oil out there. We got some oil. And as always, when we're doing ball reviews, we're just, we actually like misses because it shows us, shows us what's really going on with the ball. You know what's wild is, you know, when I, for me, I like balls, solid color bowling balls, balls with not a whole lot of pop going on. But this one, black going on, you got the white, you got the pink. Normally I wouldn't like it, but this color blend, I don't know, goes together pretty well. Doesn't like, make me feel like I'm having a seizure while I'm watching my ball. Oh, the Paralyzer 5, baby. How about that? And actually, I don't know if you remember an older ball called the Critical Fury. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, I do. It didn't have any pink in it, but it kind of, when it goes down the lane, it kind of reminds me of it. All right, let's see if we can get the 5 out, all right? I tried to give that last one the fluff. I did the opposite. And you tried to hit it. So far, what I'm seeing is you can feel the stronger cover. I can feel it when the dig, and you know, it's definitely getting into a roll. It's definitely reading the lane. It's not going super far down the lane and kind of jackknifing on us, which is what it's supposed to do. That was really good. Oh man, that was really good. Yeah, it has the feel of a strong ball. Definitely a heavy oil ball. For sure. If you guys, back in 2013, if you ever threw a Marvel last, same cover, it's called the NRG. They brought it back. It was also used in 2017 on the High Road Nano. They were both really strong balls. All right, now that we both struck, do we move on to the competition now? Let's do it. Now we're lined up. But what I like about this, I don't know, Max, and I could be wrong, but it doesn't feel like it's as strong as like a jam or reality that we throw a lot, but it still is strong. Oh, that's gotta- Way out there. Roll it. Okay. So those are the shots when we review balls that, yeah, you threw that terrible. Yeah. But it didn't split and it almost got back. We call that a lot of nine. That's a lot of nine. A lot of nine. And we're about to call this a lot of 10. On a house shot, that was six. Get this back. The love, love. Yes, it was. That was so good. The fact that that didn't wrap 10 felt so good. That was an awesome shot. That was, could keep that in front of me. I trust it reading the lane. Like it's forward. It's still hitting the pins well. You did say this could, and I'm like, nah. This could take a while. All right. Weaker ball here, actually. So even though we were going high flush, I'm going to throw that exact same shot. You know, I say exact same shot. Oh, yes. I don't really know why I decided to do that because Brad averages about 250 when this ball is insane. And I average about 182. So for me, the original Ion, it didn't fit my game. Not all balls are, you know, fit your eye or what you want to see. That's why you got to watch these reviews and just get a good idea. And then sometimes you're wrong. For me, the low diff balls are a little uncontrollable for me down lane. So I never really know when to throw them, to be honest. That's why like this ball, I didn't have a ton of success with. Tried it. Need to drill a couple more, but anyway. You haven't thrown it a ton either. I haven't thrown it a ton, but let's see here. That's why you don't talk bad about a bowling ball. I just crumble the bucket. The Ion's like, oh, you don't like me throwing you? Let me show you. Oh my gosh. I love this ball. All right. I do think this ball is substantially cleaner for sure. Just watching those two shots. All right. Well, I guess I'm going to move off my bone eight because you know, that was cool. Oh, that's got to get lucky. That was good. As soon as you threw it, I knew it. All right. Now we go back to the, I mean, you could tell just how much cleaner that ball is. Way cleaner. Typically, you know, you see the angle through the pins. That's just a weaker, weaker ball. Back to the big dog here. Yeah, baby. That was a terrible shot. I don't even know what my hand did there. Let me just. Did not do the right thing. Let me just even this one out real quick. I got to move a little bit more. I really need a miss and that was really good. Dang it. He moves an arrow left. He throws it. The ball reads as soon as you lay it down. And I'm thinking, well, that's either five or it's really good. And it ended up being pretty good. All right. So I'm going to have to move left too here. I mean, I'm getting shim-wrecked by these high-rev guys. A little hold. Wow. All right. Touch. That was a big one. All right, we're moving two more. Well, when you miss it and it still sends a messenger, that's pretty nice. Well, this ball gives you really cool hits. Well, we know you're not beating me with this thing. Yeah. That's pretty apparent. Dude, that ball, like the off hits you get with this ion is just unbelievable. Okay, Langler for you. I got some work to do. I really wanted to throw a good one there and I felt like I did. I just- That's a little of the difference between colonized just games in general is that's the low diff right there. It's angular for you. Whereas for me, it kind of just rolls out. That's when, you know, normally I'm throwing a gem and I'm like, I shouldn't be hooking this much of the gem, but I love it. So let me just- I could not imagine getting a ball like that to go that sideways. All right, one last one for the ship. One last one. We either- You're up. One tie, we all tie. Oh, that's got to get lucky. No. Why do I keep missing? All right, good match. One out of nine. Good match. So in conclusion, what do we have here? We have the new Ion Max. It's stronger. It's for heavy oil. You can definitely see, especially comparing it to the other Ion, it's a lot stronger. I guess if you like the other Ion, but you do, it's your benchmark ball, and you can't throw it on the fresh a whole lot, just get Ion Max. I mean, you can see it picks up way earlier than the other one, but it's going to get into that roll. It's going to flare more. And it's just going to be that strong piece in your arsenal. Yeah.
