Inter's ambition against Parma is a simple one here at San Siro to keep pace with Napoli and the
other top sides in the league. The Nerazzurri know that with many of their rivals playing against
each other this game represents a big opportunity to win valuable points. Parma have won two of their
last three which included a surprising win against Lazio last weekend lifting them into mid-table.
A win today against the champions would top that achievement without a doubt.
A good game to start round 15 in Serie A and let's look immediately at the starting lineup.
Simone Inzaghi has that 100% winning record against Parma and makes no changes to the 11
who started against Fiorentina. Bastoni and Di Marco are former Parma players. Di Marco scored
his first Serie A goal for Parma against Inter here at San Siro. In attack it is Lautaro Martinez
who was born in Parma when his father Lilian played for the Giallo Blu. Enrico Del Prato and
Lautaro Martinez are the two captains and they go through the pre-match requisites with referee
Rosario Abisso. Fabio Picchia has chosen to make two alterations to the 11 who started against
Lazio. Antoine Hinault comes in at right back with Enrico Del Prato moving into central defense
whereas Haj Mohamed won the goal against Lazio isn't enough for him to start back-to-back Serie
A matches with Valentin Mihaila chosen in that number 10 role behind Anjouan Bouni.
Referee Rosario Abisso blows for the start of the game. Matchday 15 of Serie A gets underway
here at San Siro. It is Inter against Parma. Parma 11th in the Serie A table. Inter in third.
Inter who will also have to complete that game that was abandoned against Fiorentina later in 2025
but this a real opportunity for Inter to put a little bit of pressure on the other teams
challenging for the Scudetto. There are plenty of big clashes this weekend in Serie A. Atalanta
against Milan later tonight and also Napoli against Lazio at the Moradona later this weekend.
Parma have got a good record recently against Inter here at San Siro. Intercepted by Calhanoglu
good play from Inter keeping the pressure high here on Parma at the start of the game. Di Marco,
Calhanoglu, long range, goes for it. Suzuki scrambling, Bastoni. Parma gonna have to get
that press right otherwise they're gonna open themselves up to the counter-attack every time.
Lautaro Martinez tripped and the referee points to the spot. It looked like the Inter skipper was
just caught there. Initial contact outside the box and the referee is going to reverse his
decision to award a penalty but it is going to be a free kick and a yellow card. Mandela-Keita,
it's Calhanoglu and the deflection takes it wide. Di Marco sweeps it in to ram the target, to ram
and it's another corner for the Nerazzurri. Del Prato gets in the way at first and then gets a
little touch on the ball which takes it over the crossbar. Dumfries, it's off the post. Boni,
Parella, very nearly another goal for Denzel Dumfries and he definitely meant to do it as well.
The Dutch wing back takes a little touch off Valeri, to ram, founds Lautaro Martinez
and it's sweeped into the bottom corner. Celebrations halted as the offside flag is up
and it looks like he might just be off there. Marcus Thuram, it's very close though.
Mkhitaryan, Mkhitaryan, still going, oh what a goal that would have been.
Som, Bonita, Som, lovely play. Som didn't get the curl that he wanted on that strike.
Di Marco back to Henrikh Mkhitaryan. Now Di Marco, Suzuki scrambles it
and Lautaro Martinez should have done better really. Som driving forwards, that's good ball
control. Cancellieri and Jan Sommer has to get his hands to it. Not for the first time
that Som has made something happen. Delays the pass and it's in the perfect tempo there for
Cancellieri to latch onto it first time. Di Marco, Parella, Mkhitaryan, Salah Noloo,
good save Suzuki. Parella in to keep on pressing. Di Marco, Mkhitaryan, Di Marco, Di Marco.
It just had to be Federico Di Marco. His first Serie A goal was for Parma against Inter San Siro
and now it is Di Marco for Inter against Parma at San Siro. The halftime whistle goes,
it's not been a particularly flamboyant first 45 minutes of football here at San Siro but Federico
Di Marco has been able to put the Nerazzurri ahead against his former club Parma. San Suzuki
with a couple of good saves for the Giallo Blu but Di Marco will grab the headlines particularly
as his last goal or rather his first Serie A goal was against Inter for Parma. The score at
halftime here Inter 1 Parma 0. Inter have got half the job done but they will feel that another goal
will make this a lot more comfortable against a Parma side who showed flashes in the first
half of being capable of troubling Inzaghi's players. Inter who know that were they to win
this game they would put on a lot of pressure on the likes of Atalanta and Napoli who have big games
this weekend. Lautaro Martinez, it's another poor touch from the Argentine. Dennis Mann,
Parma played well in the first half, they'll be disappointed at the way
they conceded the goal. Valeri, here's Mihaila, classic Inter XI for this one.
No changes to the XI who had started against Fiorentina
with the exception of Francesco Acerbi who's out injured. This probably Inter's best
starting XI. Parma meanwhile lost boats on Balog early in the game with Giovanni Leone the 17
year old coming on for Balog. Here's Keita asking a lot of Mihaila who's unable to avoid the goal
kick. Mkhitaryan, Bastoni, Turam's in the middle, he's such an aerial threat to Ram, it's Dumfries
but it's quite a way wide. Di Marco to Turam, that's a great ball from Mkhitaryan and now Barela,
Barela still going, that is absolutely gorgeous. The assistant referee's flag goes up and delays
the celebrations at least for now but if this, there's no way he's offside and the cheer of the
Giuseppe Meazza shows all of the joy here for the Inter players. Barela didn't look offside
in real time and he's going to be able to thank his teammate Henrikh Mkhitaryan for
one of the assists of the season. Di Marco, Mkhitaryan, Bastoni, superb. The cross now, Lautaro
Martinez, Suzuki stood his ground and now the counter-attack is on for Parma. Cancellieri
scrambling through the middle, Cancellieri should have done better with the finish there.
That's twice he's been in goal scoring opportunities, Cancellieri and that's twice
that his finishing has really let him down. In comes the ball, Bicek and Turam is at the far post
to turn in Inter's third. Marcus Turam who was born in Parma, whose first steps in the footballing
world, whereas the son of former Parma player Lilian Turam reacts so well there and that's not
an easy skill at all. Lautaro Martinez for the fourth, he's chipped it wide. Sort of things that
he was scoring last season, Lautaro Martinez. Correa finds him with a delicate ball. Buchanan,
Hernani skips away from Barela, looking for Mann and it's going to go down as a known goal.
Dennis Mann just looked to lose his footing at the crucial moment but as it turns out he
didn't need to apply the finish. A little bit of a mix-up, Hernani with some positive running,
good pass and it's Matteo Darmian who has just put this in the back of his own net.
The former Parma man ensures that his former club get themselves on the score sheet. Correa
to Lautaro Martinez, he goes down, the referee points to the spot. There seems to be no hesitation
here from referee Rosario Bisso. Zaghi says or rather shakes his head and wags his finger
indicating that he says no it's not. Well here it is, I'm not even sure it nor touches Lautaro
Martinez. Here's the decision and for the second time Inter have a penalty decision overturned.
Aslani, Correa, an almost perfect performance from Inter. Sees them pile the pressure on the
teams above them in the Serie A table. Marcus Teram, Nicolo Barella and Federico Di Marco all
on the score sheet for the Nerazzurri. It's a big win for Simone Inzaghi and for Inter
and in a way they now say over to you to the other title contenders in the league.
Good performance from Inzaghi who after the sad experience in Florence are back to winning ways
in the Italian top flight. The result here at San Siro, Inter 3, Parma 1.
