This week, the family is reunited, meet Charlotte's dad, see if the rose makes the journey back and Bastille day fireworks!
This is Robert. Hello. This is Charlotte's dad and he has kindly let us borrow a bed. Well me,
Ami's still been sleeping in her van. I'm a true one. Yes you are. But anyway we're just about to
start our long journey back. It's currently nine o'clock, well ten past nine because someone's
still running late. Also I had to get this as well because Charlotte absolutely loves this and I'm
going to take a video of it. It's not in the picture. I know because I'm going to raise it
up in a bit. I know. Sorry. Can't take them anyway. I hope it makes the journey, it might not but
this rose here is absolutely stunning as you can see and it comes from the bush behind us
which is one of my mother-in-law's favourite roses. It was her favourite, not one of them.
It was and the aroma from it is beautiful. It is absolutely stunning. So we're hoping to get
it back to France in one piece for Charlotte and she will absolutely love it. Good. Anyway Bob.
Yeah. It's time for us to pass. Give my daughter my love when you see her. I will. You know I do miss her.
Yeah yeah. Bye. Bye bye. Lovely to see you. Me too. Bye bye then. See you later buddy. Yeah thanks for letting us use your
house. That's all right. I'll send you the bill later. That's all right. I'm sure you will. Let's get going. Yeah let's do it.
See you later Bob. Love you. Bye bye.
We've actually got to go and find something rather important. We've got to stop at Marks and Spencers
to get, drum roll, Colin the Caterpillars. If you're British you get it. You get it. I'm sorry
if you're normal. So we've got to take some back for Charlotte because she really likes them
and obviously you can't buy them in France. Nah. France doesn't make cake. No. And I'm very sad about that.
I think I would actually quite like to actually get my own cafe in France doing like
English cake instead of like a croissant with your coffee. You can have a proper English cafe.
I'm so used to having croissants. I know. Wow. You're having an existential crisis. You are the queen of crisis.
Yeah pretty much. I don't get why nobody else is. We're living on a floor that just doesn't sit.
Are we going to do this again? Yeah. So we've left um about a meter square space in the back
of the van to make sure we can get enough in. We're just gonna, I'd say what if we get to
M&S and there's no God in the Cats. I'm gonna shit M&S up. Over a chocolate caterpillar.
I feel like that's probably been a headline before. Oh dare you do that to Gigi. She's gonna judge the
shit out of you. She's gonna smell. She's gonna hate me. She's gonna smell it and she's gonna go oh no.
But it made me miss her so much. No no no no no. Made me miss her so much. M&S. M&S. There's the bad boy.
Will you fill up and go and get the colander caterpillars? Why do we always have to negotiate
when it comes down to the most simple things? Because that is how a civilized society runs.
Anyway I will fill up. You go and get the collings. Okay let's do that. What the hell is that?
What? What is it doing? Oh my god. Please just activate the car.
Okay so we couldn't actually agree on the terms of the negotiations so we're both going.
I found it. Whoa £7 I say. Right I don't, we need a basket for this really. What for
calling the caterpillars? Yeah we need a basket for the caterpillars. Right go and get a basket for the
caterpillars. We're going to get into a negotiation again. I'm holding the camera. I'm holding the camera.
Is that enough?
M&S can thank me for keeping them in business. All right let's put some back now shall we?
Colin party. Yeah Colin party. Exactly you've got you nailed it in one.
And that is a Colin party which is going to happen in Saint-Tropez when we get there
tomorrow evening. International Colin. Yep let's go an international baby.
Okay so that was our little tour of it. No you're going down there. That's what says M11.
M11. M11. I don't care it's the numbers. Yeah that matter because it's called navigation.
You're freaking hilarious. You're right should have been a comedian.
No we could be we could be like the next day Ant and Dec. That would be cool.
That means I'll have to be Ant. Anyway we have seriously got to get a wriggle on. We spent far
too much in M&S just now and uh we also forgot the most important thing we needed. H2O. Every time.
We'll probably next see you in a big panic now at the Eurostar. So good luck man.
Of course there's traffic on the M11. Great that's the road we need. So we've actually
been trying to overtake this van for about five minutes. Okay I kid you not.
And we haven't got any closer. We've got like a meter on it. You are getting a little bit closer
but this is painful because Ami is on a limiter at 72 miles an hour. And this van must be on
exactly the same limiter. The tiniest bit slower. So if any of you out there living in your van.
No no no what are you doing you bastard? It's just put his foot down. Are you having a giraffe?
At any moment it could have just. This all changed here. Why is everything coned off
everywhere in the UK? Everything has a cone. I don't want to see a cone ever again.
All right thanks. Oh it's so nice. And you'd have to justify it and say well. And the way I turned up
they called me to one side and said listen you've got a thing in Delhi baby. It's fantastic. I said
you're all right. I've been going to Spain for 30 years. Right well just had a little sleep.
And Ami's about managed to find a little space in the back of the van. And getting her up
is not impossible. She's squeezed into this tiny little space. She won't wake up.
Come on wakey wakey. I just had to fireman's lift her out the back of the van. I just feel like
heavy. I just can't move. You just would not get out of bed. I mean I had to pull the sheet off.
Acted like a three-year-old doing that.
No I'm too tired. I don't want to get up. It's a bit like going back to school. But I don't want to go to school.
I want to stay in bed. And now she's she's bursting for a piss. She can't go in the back because the
back is full. And she can't even get her shoes on. I mean look at it. The shoes ain't even on yet.
But one thing that is rather nice in here is the rose. Look she's actually opening.
Let me show you. There you go. Look at that beauty. There's only one way that actually
gets her out of this van. Okay or out of bed or anything at all. It involves this thing.
All right time to get out. Oh f**k off. Time to get out.
Get out. Get out. Come on. Shoes on. Out.
Come on. You don't need to. I'm gonna drive. Come on.
See. Told you it works. You look like s**t. I feel like s**t. I mean how beautiful is that.
Anyway we're gonna get on with the last leg of this journey. It's still five and a half hours.
But we will now meet up with you when we get back to Charlotte. So we'll see you
straight away actually on this video. But it's five and a half hours away from me.
She's coming to you straight away. Hold on.
If you rolled in some poo or something. No. I've got castor oil on my back.
Mommy missed you so much.
Ah I have something for you. Stay there.
There. For you there. Enjoy that. Can I just say hello? Are you okay?
It's now nine o'clock and we left at nine o'clock yesterday. 24 hours. So that's a full 24 hours to
anyway. There you go.
Next a picture of my mama. Well found my new tiny house. I might have to just make one of those if
I ever get a bit of land one day. I might just have to build like a almost like a smurf village.
I mean that'd be pretty cool. Maybe. But anyway this is um Perju's market. There's a massive
fireworks display later on. We'll show you a bit of that and a little bit of this market.
Okay so found myself a little space and just waiting for the fireworks.
If you can hear it you probably can't. It's all the boats in the background there
sounding all their horns. Okay so we've had a really really good time in Perju's today.
Which is the reason why I had to rush back and see my wife. Isn't it nice having us back now?
No. Less mess but still have to deal with all the boats. So anyway it's time for us to say goodbye
for this week. And we will be seeing you again next week. So adios. Bye bye. What the hell was that?
