The Incredible Mythological Origin of the Sumerian World

Before time and memory, the primordial abyss Namu gave rise to the sky Anu and the earth Kai, united in a cosmic embrace that birthed Enlil, the god of the air. Upon freeing himself, Enlil separated heaven and earth, allowing creation to unfold. Joining with Ninlil, goddess of the air, he brought forth gods who maintained cosmic order. Enki, god of the waters, shaped humanity from sacred clay to serve the gods, teaching them agriculture, construction, and rituals, solidifying harmony in creation.
