Hey guys, it is done with mother time and it is time to start some Christmas crafting.
I have some brand new Christmas crafts.
I cannot wait to show you.
I also have some returning favorites that I am changing up a little bit too.
So these are going to be all brand new and different and ones that I've changed.
I cannot wait for you guys to see these.
I love getting a start on my Christmas crafts now before the hustle and bustle of the holiday
season also stretches out the holiday season a little bit longer too, which I love.
So grab yourself a yummy peppermint mocha, hot tea, cup of coffee, whatever you enjoy.
Sit back, relax, and let's get to Christmas crafting.
First up, wait until you see these vintage style Christmas crocks.
I have these vases from Hobby Lobby.
I'll link them below.
They are in the craft section, so they are often on sale, but I love the color and the
glaze on them.
They remind me of like the vintage marmalade crocks.
And then I designed these vintage style crock labels that you can download for free on my
blog.
I'll link them below and it comes in a set of four.
This one says gingerbread cookie butter.
Look at how cute.
I'm using Cricut transparent vinyl.
You don't need to have a Cricut.
You just print it out on there and then peel it off like a sticker just like I did.
Look at that.
So easy.
Just peel it off after you cut it down.
I love my paper cutter.
You can use scissors.
I'll link a similar paper cutter below and then I just put it on this crock.
Now you could distress the crock too, but I love the way it looks just like this.
It looks like one of those marmalade crocks.
Super cute for a Christmas vignette.
So easy to make and these look so cute tucked in any Christmas vignette.
for Black Dog Creations that are on these gorgeous pots.
Aren't they beautiful?
These will be launching soon.
I'll include a link in the description below.
So if you want to purchase one of these too.
Next up, I'm going to make no sew gingerbread.
These are so cute.
I've shared these before, but I'm doing these a little bit different.
So I have this gingerbread pattern that you can download for free on my blog that I drew
myself and I'm going to cut out the pattern.
And then I found this fabric at Hobby Lobby that I love that I coffee stained.
But this is what it looks like if you don't want that coffee stained look.
But I love that grungy rustic look.
So I'm going to fold my fabric in half so I have the back and the front so I can cut
it out all at once.
I'm going to pin my pattern onto the fabric and I'm going to do several of these.
I'm going to cut out all of my fabric, then pin my pattern onto it, cut it out, and then
I'm going to hot glue it together, leaving a pocket on the bottom to add some stuffing.
And then I'll hot glue that once I add that stuffing.
These are so cute.
The original ones that I made, I used a different fabric and then I also added some eyes.
I still did the buttons.
So these are a little bit different, but I just loved this fabric from Hobby Lobby.
It's got a really nice texture to it too.
So I thought it would be perfect for these gingerbread.
I like to pin the pattern to the fabric and cut both pieces out at once.
And it's so easy.
It turns out just like this.
But if you feel more comfortable, you could trace it out and then cut it out if you want
to do it that way too.
And since these are no sew, I do recommend using some good scissors to cut the fabric out.
It may fray just a little bit.
I love that fray look.
But if you don't like the fray look, you can get fray check.
You can get it at the craft store, Hobby Lobby, and you can just put it around the edges to
prevent like extra fraying.
But I love that fray look.
It gives it a very rustic look.
So now I'm adding the hot glue all around, but I'm leaving a pocket at the bottom of
the gingerbread to add stuffing.
The stuffing I use is just from old pillows, but you can get stuffing at the craft store too.
And I'm just using regular hot glue to attach them together,
but you could also use fabric glue if you prefer.
Here is the opening that I have at the bottom.
So now I'm just going to add my stuffing.
I like to add a little bit at a time and pushing it all the way to the top and then making
sure I also get into the arms and then finally the bottom before I hot glue it closed.
And you could also scent these by adding some potpourri or adding some essential oils to
a cotton ball or right onto the stuffing.
I have this gingerbread oil that I got from a craft show that I'm adding right onto the
stuffing and then adding it inside the gingerbread.
Once I have it all stuffed, I'm just sealing it shut with my hot glue.
Next, I'm going to add some buttons.
I have this big jar of buttons that I got at Walmart,
and I'm just going to hot glue a couple of buttons to each of the gingerbread.
And then I have some fabric that I coffee stained and I'm just going to tear it
and make some bows and hot glue them onto each of the gingerbread.
And here they are all done.
These turned out so cute and perfect to tuck into any Christmas vignette.
I'm going to take a minute and show you how I coffee stain my fabric as well as these
mop heads that I'm going to be using too.
So I have a Dollar Tree bucket that I use.
And I just sprinkle in some instant coffee.
I just kind of eyeball it.
And then here are my mop heads from Dollar Tree that I love to coffee stain to give it a rustic
look.
I add my mop head or my fabric into the coffee stain and I just let it soak for a few seconds
and then I wring it out and I do this a few times until I get the desired look.
I also sprinkle some of them with a little bit of the coffee granules too
to give it even more of a rustic look.
Now, of course, if you don't like that look, you don't have to do it.
But I love that look.
So here I am sprinkling on a little bit of the coffee granules and that'll kind of soak
into and give it a very primitive rustic look as well.
I like to do a bunch at once along with my fabric.
And once I do them all, I'll set them aside to dry.
I let them air dry.
If it's a nice warm day or at least a sunny day, I'll set them outside to dry.
I've even popped them in the dryer before too.
And then I'm going to do some fabric.
I have a drop cloth along with some other fabric that I'm going to be using
throughout the holiday season that I wanted to get already stained.
Look at how this turned out.
This is some muslin.
I love when it gets that real dark look on the pieces because when it dries,
it just looks so primitive and rustic.
And that's just with the coffee granules.
Now I'm adding a drop cloth that I love using too that I'm going to be using on a project.
And I'm just soaking it in the coffee for a few seconds, pulling it out, wringing it out.
I do that a few times until I get the desired look.
Also adding some coffee granules on it too.
Next up, I have this Dollar Tree tinsel stocking that I'm going to give a little makeover.
So I'm going to use some of that fabric that I also used for the gingerbread.
And I'm going to wrap it around the stocking and then also use
one of those Dollar Tree mop heads that I coffee stained to put on top.
So I'm just wrapping the fabric around the front of the stocking and then hot gluing it on the back.
Speaking of coffee stain, I have to call out my sleeve there.
You can see some of the coffee stain got on my sleeve, but that is what happens when you coffee
stain. So one thing to note, if you are coffee staining, wear something that you don't mind
maybe getting a little dirty or just be a little bit more careful.
So now I added some hot glue to the front of the stocking and adding one of those
coffee stained mop heads to it and then attaching it also on the back.
I also decided to add a few little patches.
So I have some torn muslin that I'm hot gluing to the front of the stocking too.
I'm also going to add a button and I'm going to take a little piece of torn muslin
to add a hanger to the back.
This is such a cute and easy makeover and looks cute hung anywhere for Christmas.
Next up, I'm going to make a gingerbread cookie wreath.
I have this wreath form from Dollar Tree.
I'm adding a piece of torn fabric so I can hang it.
And then I'm going to wrap the wreath form with some extra ribbon that I had on hand
so then I can hot glue the cookies on top of the wreath.
And you could even use a deco mesh to cover the wreath.
You just want to wrap that wreath form with something like this extra ribbon.
I'm using deco mesh, whatever you have on hand,
just so it's easier to hot glue the cookies on top of it.
Once I have the wreath form covered like this, now it's time to add the cookies.
I have these gingerbread cookie men.
I got these at Dollar General actually last year, so I still had them in my stash in my bins.
And I'm simply going to add some hot glue onto them.
These are really nice hard cookies too.
And I'm just going to go around hot gluing them randomly in different places
and waiting to see how cute this turns out.
I love using these gingerbread cookies in my kitchen decor every year.
I've shared before putting them in my cookie jars.
They're just so cute.
So this is one of those things that I had an idea while I was driving.
And then I was like, I told my daughter, text me so I don't forget I was driving.
And I thought that would be really cute as a wreath, like just came out of the blue.
So I couldn't wait to get home and try this idea.
And I'm so happy I did.
I'm so happy I came up with this idea because wait until you see how this turns out.
Look at how cute it's turning out.
So I used a total of one and a half bags.
That's it.
One bag pretty much filled up this entire wreath.
And then I just needed some out of an extra bag.
And then I even took the broken ones and kind of tucked them in.
There's a broken one right there.
Then I'm kind of tucking in two in different places and just going in,
filling it in until I like the way it looks.
Here it is all filled up.
This did not take long to do at all.
Just adding the hot glue.
And then I decided to add a little bit of a sealer on top.
This is optional.
And then I cut a piece of this fabric to make a really nice droopy bow.
So I just wanted to make a very loose looking bow.
This goes with the gingerbread that I made too.
And then I'm just going to hot glue that on the bottom.
And here it is all done.
This turned out so cute.
What do you think?
I absolutely love it.
And it's perfect for a gingerbread Christmas kitchen.
Next up, I have this mason jar that I had on hand,
and I'm going to add a coat of Mod Podge on top of the jar.
While the Mod Podge is still wet,
I'm going to wrap the jar in a piece of parchment paper.
And then I'm going to trim off the excess parchment paper.
And then I'm adding a little bit of Mod Podge where the seam is,
just so it stays nice and secure.
And I'm also adding a little bit to that top rim too.
And just folding it down.
And this is how the jar looks.
Now I have these labels that I got on Etsy.
I'll link them below.
I'm going to take a little bit of my coffee grunge.
This is just some of my instant coffee mixed with water.
And I'm going around the edges of the label so I can give it a torn look.
And here's the label once I gave it that torn edge.
So I'm going to add some Mod Podge on top of my jar and then add my label.
Next, I'm going to add Mod Podge around the jar,
sprinkle it with my instant coffee granules,
and then dab Mod Podge on top of that.
And it's going to give this jar a really cool rustic look.
I love doing these.
I've shared them before, but I couldn't wait to do a Christmas one,
especially a gingerbread one,
to go along with this gingerbread theme of crafts that I'm making.
So here it is.
I just sprinkle some of those coffee granules on top.
I'm using instant coffee, dabbing some Mod Podge on top.
And then once it dries, wait until you see how this turns out.
I always love doing this technique on jars, tins.
I've done so many different projects with it because look at how cool it turns out.
It looks like an old Christmas jar.
So now I have a piece of this fabric, same as what I used for the gingerbread men.
And I'm just going to wrap a piece of twine around.
And you could even add like a little battery operated tea light or some fairy lights inside.
I sometimes do, but then I never like really turn it on.
So I just didn't do it.
And look at how cute it looks with the gingerbread men and even with the old crocs too.
This is such a great project to make for your gingerbread kitchen.
Last up, I'm going to give this tinsel Santa hat from Dollar Tree a little makeover,
just removing the tag and the little hanger.
Now I have some of that drop cloth that I coffee stained,
and I'm going to hot glue that on top of the hat.
Now I have another one of my coffee stained mop heads,
and I'm going to hot glue that to the bottom of the Santa hat.
Next, I'm trimming a piece of the mop head from the back of the hat
to hot glue on the top of the hat.
First, I'm going to take a piece of twine and wrap it.
And then I kind of liked it just like this.
It gave it a really kind of rustic look, trimming off that twine.
But then I decided to hot glue that piece of mop head to the top of the hat
to give it a little poop.
Super cute, just like this.
Now I'm going to cut a piece of that drop cloth,
and I'm going to hot glue it, making little patches.
But I'm going to only end up using one.
And I'm actually going to stamp one of them with the words
S Claus for Santa Claus, just to make it look like a Santa Claus hat.
Give it a really rustic, primitive look.
But then I was like, it's kind of missing the red.
For me, the Santa hat needs a little pop of red.
I was trying to do something a little different, rustic.
So I took a piece of this homespun that has some red in it,
and I'm just going to wrap it around the top of the hat
for that little pop of Christmas red.
And then I decided, I was like, I love the way that the hat looked like this.
It was a little different than what I've made before
using these tinsel Santa hats.
But then I said, I'm going to give it that droopy look.
So I'm going to take a little extra piece of the mop head,
hot glue it to the top.
And then I have it, once I kind of droop it down like that,
and then I'm going to just hot glue it so it stays in place.
And here it is all done.
I think this turned out super cute
and a great little makeover for that tinsel Santa hat.
And here is a look at all of the crafts that I made today.
