Land COP16: Enhancing action #ForPeopleForPlanet

We all depend on land for our survival, but every year 100 million hectares of healthy land is degraded, with dire consequences for people, nature, and climate. We must protect and restore land - for the present and for the future.

The sixteenth session of the Conference of the Parties (COP16) of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (2-13 December 2024) - the ‘Land COP’ - is a landmark event to raise global ambition and accelerate action on land restoration and drought resilience through a people-centered approach.
