Here in the Valley of the Kings lies the tomb of Ramses IV, a pharaoh for a relatively short time.
He took the title when his father Ramses III was murdered in a conspiracy involving the Royal
Harem. Throughout the tomb we see sections of various books such as the Book of Heavens
and the Amduat, but the major scenes that we saw in other tombs of the pharaoh meeting the gods
were strangely absent. Unlike other tombs from this era it is noticeable the absence of pillars.
This was as a result of his short reign of only about six and a half years,
considerably shorter than the 31 of his father. The original design of the tomb was altered
on his death, changing what would have been a pillar chamber into the burial chamber.
