How to Get Coffee Grounds from Starbucks for Compost

I got all these coffee grounds from a local Starbucks in just two days. Starbucks is pretty earth-friendly. I mean they like to recycle things. They like to use recycled materials. So they're earth-friendly and they're happy to give out their coffee grounds and you can all you all you need to do is just go and ask them for some coffee grounds. But the best and very crucial thing is timing. You have to time it right because they're not going to just you know some might hold for you if you really know them but usually they don't hold the coffee grounds for you. So you just have to go there when you think it's pretty full and they're about to clean out and the the timings that I've found that work the best to get these coffee grounds is right in the morning around 9 30. That's when they do their first cleanup and they throw out the coffee grounds then they do that around 1 30 1 o'clock to 1 30 then again about 5 to 5 30. So those are times I usually go around like 9 or 9 30 then I go around 1 pm then 5 pm and I get you know pretty full bags. I mean these bags are really really really heavy as you can see and the coffee grounds are best to add to your compost. You can add it to your vermicompost as well but they can clog up the pores so the worms don't breathe well and the air won't circulate in the vermicompost. It's best to actually add it to your compost and you can move it to your vermicompost once it decomposes a little bit. So contact your local Starbucks and you know just ask them if they have any coffee grounds and they are more than happy to just give it out and the Starbucks that I go to that if I got all these coffee grounds they already know me there and I just walk over and you know I ask them for the grounds and they're happy to give it to me and during the summer I just bring them all sorts of like tomatoes, nectarines and and peaches from my from my backyard my garden and they're they're happy to to get those and they're they're happy to see me there so so it's it's a good deal.
