Rep. Donalds Voices Support For Colleague Gaetz

I I know a lot of people have been asking you about your colleague Matt Gates I just wanted to get your thoughts about his nomination to be attorney general uh I think Matt's going to be fine actually uh there's few people that really know uh the Department of Justice um from the perspective of having oversight over it um he's incredibly knowledgeable on all those subject matters um and then at the end of the day Donald Trump has a mandate and he has said this is who he wants to be the Attorney General I remember uh my Democratic colleagues and even some of my Republican colleagues in Years Gone by uh famously say things like the president uh gets to have what he wants we've had Republican Senators who have voted for attorney generals who have actually not done uh right by the American people with the powers invested in them but they voted for those nominees so I would fully expect that Republican Senators will step up and support president Trump's nominee I know that in the oversights committee you've been uh marking up some legislation regarding diversity equity and inclusion what's going on Sir well actually we're in the middle of that right now um look at the end of the day we want to make sure that our federal government doesn't have a lot of this woke foolishness moving through our agencies we are we are a government that's responsible responsible and responsive to all of the American people we can't be picking and choosing um not by skin color or anything else and so in my view um uh representative Cloud's bill which is the one in question uh is going to pass committee today and we move on from there do you think that's why one of the reasons maybe the president-elect has chosen somebody like Matt gates to to be attorney general um I would say it's not just about Matt Gates I think it's it's him and uh also many other members of the cabinet um we have a mission the mission is to go in and clean out these agencies have them get back to their core Mission um if they need to be shrunk they need to be shrunk if in a position of the Department of Education if it needs to go away okay so be it but they're going to be committed to accomplishing the agenda that Donald Trump talked about on the campaign Trail and since the American people have given him a political mandate we have a responsibility to answer that charge of the people uh does the does the title Senator go with Byron Donald's what do you make of that title there will be a vacancy they'll have to fill a senate seat here Marco Ruby of course uh the the presum presumptive ne nominee for uh you know Secretary of State we'll see see you for all our viewers asking where one Amer news is heading in the future we would like to introduce you to O live oan live is the best way to stay up toate on all of the hard-hitting straight shooting National and international headlines and the best part is oan live is only $4.99 per month all the credible honest unbiased reporting one americ news offers at a fraction of the cost of cable just go to oann.com to easily sign up for o live and stay informed
