When life steers you in an unexpected direction, sometimes it’s the best path.

this is why I didn't go to traditional medical school you know around 22 or 21 my last year of college or so I began having all of these mysterious gut problems I was extremely constipated extremely bloated had food allergies to everything I lost weight without even trying and after I saw all of the best GI specialist in my home state of Connecticut with all the waspy ivy Leaguers and no one could help I was sort of at a loss for words around that time was about 6 or 12 months before I was graduating college and one night I had this dream where I was at my medical school basically interview and at this interview there were two interviewers a man and a woman and they asked this question which is why do you want to become a doctor and I remember the feeling of giving like this impassioned monologue that was just so compelling and so emotional and it must have affected them but they looked at each other and looked at me and they said are you sure as in are you sure you want to go to this program and then I just woke up now that dream left me with a really deep feeling of unease in my stomach for the rest of the day and actually that dream was a piece of why I did not
