Untold: Emma Stone | Disney

Hi, I'm Emma Stone and I play Cruella in Disney's Cruella. I was drawn to the role of Cruella because I had always loved the character. I thought she was so over the top and hilarious and wild and obviously terrifying. Maybe it was the hair too. The hair really drew me to her. I don't remember specifically the first time I saw Cruella de Vil in 101 Dalmatians. I watched it many, many times as a kid. I loved that the dogs looked like their kind of human counterparts. And then I just sort of fell in love with that raspy voice from a very young age. So I loved doing kind of the laugh and, you know, playing around with the idea of Cruella. So I think actually getting to play her was pretty surreal. My first day on set was actually at Liberty of London, which is kind of an iconic department store in London. And they had shut down the first floor and we were running across the street and running around Liberty. And it was just completely insane to be smack dab in the center of London, catching a bus and having it totally transformed into the 70s. So it was a very, very cool first day. You're kind of shot out of a cannon into the middle of 70s London and the scope of a movie like this, which is just giant and so much fun.
