Healing Is More Than a Feeling – The Truth You Need to Know

Hey, I am so glad you joined us today because I have nothing but good news for you And that is that god loves you and he has a great plan for you and he wants you healed and whole You know, it doesn't do us any good to live our lives sick and diseased and weak and tired Because not only will we not enjoy life, but we can't help other people enjoy life So god wants us well, you know healing is something that you can experience without a feeling I like to say this healing is not a feeling Now this is important for us and you're going to see by the end of this message You know a very beloved man of faith once said this he said I cannot understand god by my feelings I cannot understand the lord. Jesus christ by my feelings I can only understand god and the lord. Jesus christ by what the word of god says about them And so he never was moved by his feelings. He was only moved by what the word says Too many people try to get to know god by how they feel Now listen, certainly we all have feelings when we feel good. Hooray. We like that When we feel the presence of god, it's a very euphoric sensation and we all love that feeling But you know those feelings won't always be present and then when they're not present you might be wondering Well has god departed for me or am I really receiving or is the word really working in my life? Well, I have good news for you You don't have to base your faith on your feelings whether you feel good or don't feel good God's word still can work for you And I think this is one of the most important lessons i've had to learn in life Is that even if I don't feel well, even if the devil's trying to tell me you're not going to make it I don't have to be basing my faith on those things. I can actually ignore those things and say guess what? I know what the word says So even though I don't feel really great today Even though my body might be talking to me Even though the devil might be telling you you're not going to make it or you're a loser or whatever he tries He has different tactics for different people. You can actually say you know what? I don't believe that I believe what the word says And eventually if you'll hold fast to what the word says the feelings will line up with what the word says But you know a lot of people are trying to receive god from god by how they feel and when they feel good Hooray hip hip hooray and when they feel bad, they think well god must not be hearing me No Faith should never be based upon feelings, but it should always be based upon the word of god Now listen folks. This is the same problem thomas had you know Everybody is going to know about thomas throughout eternity because of this one problem He was moved by his feelings and not by faith And so he was not with the other disciples when jesus first appeared to them He was the only one not there And when the others, you know think about this there were 11 disciples at this point because judas was gone and uh, so 10 of them are there and thomas is not You would think of 10 of your closest associates that all follow. Jesus are telling you Hey, the lord's appeared to us that you would believe it, but he still refused to believe And he said unless I see him for myself unless I touch him with my own hands. I will not believe Well eight days later jesus appeared to them again and this time tom and thomas was present And i'm going to read to you from john chapter 20 in verse 27 Then jesus said to thomas reach your finger here and look and Look at my hands and reach your hand here and put it into my side Do not be unbelieving But believing now, I like to say this jesus was really being good to thomas that day Because jesus generally speaking is not going to come to you because you refuse to believe And give you a sign He's not going to do this for most people But because thomas refused to believe unless he could see with his own eyes and feel with his own hands He was in doubt and unbelief Now many christians are like this today. I know we can talk about thomas. We can talk about him in a despairing way He had the mercy of god when jesus came back that second time But even though we want to talk about thomas we have to evaluate our own lives Are we in the same boat at times? Now think about this now i'm not saying this to criticize you because again all of us have been guilty of this You could say you're believing that you're healed But when a pain arises or a situation lingers Are you flustered? Are you nervous? Are you thinking about every possible remedy except the word of god? Are you being moved by those feelings and shaken by those feelings? And if you are you could say this is the thomas kind of faith or we could say the thomas kind of doubt because You're being moved by what you feel instead of by what the word says now Listen, i'm not asking you to deny symptoms exist. We don't preach foolishness here. As a matter of fact, i'm a registered nurse I believe that doctors are good. I believe nurses are good and I believe they're helping us to the best of their ability But if all of your faith is in doctors and medical science, it's going to fall short at some point in your life I've seen it again and again where they just cannot always help people And yet the word of god promises help no matter what so there are times where We're caving to the circumstances. We're caving to the feelings and we're tossing aside our confidence in what god's word says Well when those instances begin to arise We got to get a hold of ourselves and we've got to say wait a minute I'm, not going to be moved by what I feel i'm not going to be moved by what I hear I'm, only going to move be moved by what god's word says because real faith in god's word says yes god's word is true Regardless of how I feel If god's word says i'm healed I am healed because god cannot lie Now when it this is the the challenging thing for believers when it comes to physical things Certainly we walk by sight and we're very well trained to do that because we live in a physical world So when it comes to walking, you know walking across a busy street You better use your eyes and look both ways or we might have to attend a funeral, you know But when it comes to spiritual things, we're admonished in the bible to walk by faith and not by sight First or i'm sorry. First corinthians is not the one second corinthians 5 7 says for we walk by faith and not by sight Now god's healing is spiritual So this is why we're not to look at the natural when it comes to god's healing. It's spiritual If medical science heals it heals through the physical There are metaphysical religions such as christian science. They believe in healing but it's through the mind of man But when it comes to god's healing god always heals through the spirit of man So you can see there's a big difference between medical science and god's way of healing We cannot see into the spirit with our natural eyes, but it's still a very real place Our spirit man is very real even though we cannot see our spirit You know when I look at another person I see their physical body, but I don't actually see their spirit But they have a spirit and it's very real. Now. This is where faith comes into play Healing is like the new birth The new birth is the rebirth of the human spirit It does not in any way shape or form when you accept jesus as your lord and savior and you're born again It does not change the physical appearance of man It does not change anything physically about you But it changes the spirit first Then over time as you begin to renew your mind you begin to learn what belongs to you in christ You begin to receive what the word says you believe it Then you'll start to see some changes on the physical people will see a different countenance for instance People will hear different words coming out of your mouth. They might see a change in your finances Maybe your relationships start getting restored and healed. So You see what i'm saying is the new birth is a spiritual experience But eventually you'll see it in the physical not always immediately Well when we believe we'll receive our healing for our bodies We receive it with our spirit So it starts on the inside, but then eventually we see the difference on the outside and so we see this Our physical senses have nothing to do with the bible Amen, it's just as simple as that God's word is always true regardless of our feelings or circumstances So I just want to emphasize that to you today that quit looking at your body to tell you whether or not you're healed Quit looking at the doctor's report to determine whether or not you're healed So often people want to say pray for me. I'm going to the doctor tomorrow. Pray that I get a good report Well, that's walking by feelings and by sight not by faith I know people mean well when they say that and everybody wants a good report But I want to let you know today you have a good report It's the word of god His words already told you you're healed so you don't have to wait for the doctor to tell you that to rejoice You just start acting like you already got the doctor's report Saying that you're healed because god says you're healed and god's word is a higher authority than the doctor's word I don't know about you, but that's good news to me. Some people might think this is not good news This is good news folks because god's word is always good And i'm just trying to teach you how not to let your feelings sabotage what god's promised you You know because a lot of times that's where we break down and where we lose what belongs to us because we start getting moved By sight we start getting moved by what we feel but like I started out saying healing is not a feeling You can receive healing without feeling one little thing or one little change initially But as long as you hold fast to the word you will feel the healing in your body Now here quickly is a formula for faith that you can make work for you every time number one Find one or two healing scriptures that are meaningful to you Or we could say it this way. Sometimes the holy spirit will just direct you to a particular scripture That's really speaking to you and ministering to you that day So you get a hold of that scripture and then number two You meditate on that one or two scriptures until you know in your heart that you believe it You say well, how will I know that I believe it? I guarantee you will know it You can't always explain it. You just know that you know that now I believe it And once you believe it, you know that you didn't believe it previously Sometimes we think we're believing but we're really not but once you get into real faith, then you know the difference But when faith drops in your heart in abundance, you see yourself as healed and not trying to get healed any longer And then number three refuse to consider any contradictory circumstances And that includes feelings Anything that your physical senses may be saying to you that contradicts what god's word says refuse to consider it You know, that's what abraham did he considered not his own body, which was now already physically dead to Conceive physically, you know, he and his wife weren't dead naturally, but they weren't able to have children And so the bible says he got to the place where he didn't consider that natural circumstance He was only considering what god said And then the fourth thing give praise to god for the answer You know faith always praises god because faith knows that it has it And so again, I just want to encourage you don't be moved by your feelings. Don't be moved by reports Just hold fast to god's word and healing will manifest in your body before you know it I want to pray with you quickly before we close father for those that are watching today We ask that you help them to get over this Situation where they are hooked on looking at circumstances and looking at how they feel Looking at doctor's reports help them lord to slip over and to trust your word alone And father we thank you that as they begin trusting you that your power begins flowing first to their spirit And then eventually permeating out to every cell of their bodies and father We agree with them today for complete and total healing and restoration From the top of their heads to the soles of their feet in jesus mighty name be whole Now write to us and let us know the good report We're so happy that we can come into your homes and we can bring this good good news message to you And it encourages us to hear the good reports as well So I also want to encourage you to like share and subscribe to our channel until next time Remember god has a purpose for your life and it's so much greater than you know.
