I sing karaoke a lot.
I don't go out, I don't go clubbing.
I go to karaoke rooms, like little private rooms with my friends.
And then I really like Alone by Heart.
We need a music kind of microphone.
The night goes by so very slow, oh I hope that it won't end though, alone.
Till now, always got by on my own, really cared until I met you.
And now it chills me to the bone, how do I get you alone, get you alone, oh.
Oh my God!
Has your daughter been indoctrinated into the karaoke room yet?
She's resisting, but slowly.
She loves Mamma Mia, and her favorite song to sing is Bohemian Rhapsody, and she's really good at it.
The Mamma Mia figure, yeah.
But it's the cutest thing at the end to see an 8-year-old girl going,
nothing really matters, anyone can see.
It's the sweetest thing.
I hope she never finds this on the internet.
She'll totally cut me off.
She'll be like, I'm never singing that again.
I make Halloween costumes for my daughter every year,
and so I try to do a coordinating costume that goes with what she wants to be.
She wanted to be a raccoon.
I was a trash can.
And my husband was a garbage man.
I made it out of, I got some silver PVC and hooked it up to a hula hoop,
and then hung it over my shoulders and then made myself a trash can Lin.
The name of the movie is Vice.
People think they know Lin Chaney, but I didn't know Lin Chaney,
so I really got to dive into her past.
We did not meet, so that's something that's interesting too,
is to be playing somebody and have not met them.
For me, when approaching the politics of the film,
I really just absorbed Lin Chaney's point of view.
It was important to me to comic the character with honesty,
whether I agree with her point of view or not,
and to sort of get into character,
I would have these long debates about policy and politics
as Lin Chaney with Adam McKay, the director.
I called him many names.
I didn't swear because Lin wouldn't swear.
I teased him about wearing shorts on set and how that was disrespectful.
I loved television.
It's like I feel bad I think I let my daughter watch too much TV,
but I'm like, I watched a lot, I love TV.
When I was a teenager, I really got into Days of Our Lives,
and I really loved, there was a character named Jen.
Friendly, pretty, nice, got the guy.
She was a heroine, but I think, I don't know,
I'm flashing to facts of life.
I loved Jo in Facts of Life.
I loved her.
I loved Blair. I thought she had really good hair,
but she wasn't nice.
She just cared about the wrong things.
Jo seems like, she seems scrappy.
I love Family Ties, Growing Pains.
Huge crush on Leo during Growing Pains
because he was their foster kid during last season.
I like to go to TV to escape.
There was complicated storylines, like a foster child on a,
that was deep, and it was Leo.
Okay, so I poked and there's a little paper on the other side.
Thank you, Lin.
You know what's funny is my husband and I have this little thing,
it's 4-2, we just say it to each other,
and we never really thought about it,
and then we watched Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy,
which I'd never read, and then The Secret of the Universe was 42,
and we were both like, we knew it!
Like I even have it on, I have a little white tattoo on my wrist, yeah.
I have a little tattoo, yeah, but it's white, you can't see it.
Oh, wow.
I actually got another tattoo this year.
But it is my daughter's name over my heart, so.
Oh, that's lovely.
Yeah.
This actually is really appropriate for me.
Okay.
Obsessed is just a word that the lazy use to describe the dedicated.
Yes, that's fantastic!
I love that, that's so great.
Because I say why worry when you can obsess.
