Today we are pushing acupuncture to the extreme.
Oh, that one, yo!
How many needles is too many needles?
Oh my God!
Today we're gonna find out.
You don't do the belly button, right?
No, I'm not gonna go in your belly button.
I call that my no-no hole.
Okay.
Mm-hmm, everything else is fair game.
Oh, man.
I hit my out-of-pocket insurance maximum this year
because of the old glass-in-the-legs situation.
So I've been going to get acupuncture twice a week.
It helps with my AS, it helps with my pain.
I don't really get it.
My name is Jennifer, this is Veronica,
and also my mom, and we're both acupuncturists.
You're also my acupuncturist.
Yes.
It's kind of like seeing your teacher out of school.
Two spheres of my life to collide, I feel very vulnerable.
When you're doing acupuncture,
for people that don't know, it's needles.
What are you doing?
We're putting needles in bodies, yes.
I told him 1,000 needles, and I was like,
okay, we're gonna do like 1,000 needles.
They have, you have 1,000 needles.
We have over 1,000 needles prepared.
All these for you.
Look how cute that is.
Yeah, we're gonna put needles in my body.
And I wanna see if anybody else wants some needles too.
They don't know that.
Everybody take their shirt off.
Really fast.
Quaze is joining me because I can't really react
when I have needles in my body.
So you're gonna be all the reactions for me.
It's gonna be a whole bunch of smiles.
So our goal is 1,000 needles.
We're gonna see how close we can get.
Where are we gonna start?
I never, you know, poke 1,000 needles on one patient, ever.
Probably I'm gonna give you first.
We call it four gates and four doors.
Which is the stomach.
Hands and feet.
I'm shocked, they didn't say ready, set, go.
They just started going.
It's very funny, like the way that they do it,
they kind of like hammer it with their finger.
They go like tick.
One strong tap.
Are we giving out free feet content right now?
Wanna switch, you good?
Yes.
At least put it on Patreon, shit.
I've never seen acupuncture in real life.
Needles are not my favorite.
It's making me a little jittery right now, actually.
Holy shit, I'm sweating.
Oh shit, oh Zach.
Only 994 needles to go.
Every time they put a new needle in, it hurts for a moment.
Then I don't feel it.
I don't feel any of the needles.
If you asked me how many needles are in my hand right now,
I couldn't tell you.
Here's my question, doing all of these at once,
is the body just like, fuck?
Pretty much, you're manipulating a lot of the energy
in the blood.
So I asked you the other day,
is there a limit to how many needles?
And you were like, no, but it's stupid.
Oh yeah, actually there's no limit, not necessarily.
But you don't need that many needles, you know, right?
In a normal treatment, how many needles?
Sometimes we just need like a couple of needle,
but sometimes we need like 20, 30 needles.
But not thousand needles.
How deep does it go?
So we're gonna go superficial today for safety purposes,
but we can put needles all the way through the ankle even
to hit two points.
I'm sorry, what?
Well, we won't do that to you today, not today.
Wait, say it again?
We can put a needle all the way through to hit two points
from two different meridians through the ankle
to treat your neck.
If this gets 10 million views,
I'll put a needle through my ankle.
You poke me here, but it helps here.
What the heck's going on?
That's very unique to our meridian systems.
So meridian is a pathway for the organ.
There's so many microsystems in the body
that people are unaware of that we can treat.
So right now, along the middle finger, the backside,
this is actually the back of the neck and the spine.
What is this machine that you're using?
This is not really common.
I mean, typically when I do this procedure,
I usually freehand it, but this, it's a little more gentler.
Ah.
Oh my goodness.
I'm so happy I'm here.
Sometimes you get one
and it just sends like a little electric shock
and you're like, what?
There's like heat sensations.
Some people even have like a tingling, vibrating feeling.
I've actually had a lot of patients tell me
that they feel like they're floating sometimes.
The thumbs feel electric in a way that's shocking to me.
It's like, I feel like I could shoot lightning.
That middle finger's getting a lot of love.
Oh my God.
Yes, I know.
Are people nervous the first time they do acupuncture?
Yes, a lot of people, like a fear of unknown.
Well, we've actually had a lot of patients come in
who were afraid of needles
and we'll kind of slowly ease them into it
by doing one needle at a time,
or we also do have other treatment modalities like cupping.
All right, status check.
We've been doing this for a few minutes.
How many needles are in me?
Let me see.
I guess about a hundred.
A hundred?
So once this is done, it will be 200 in your hand.
200 in this hand, 200 in that hand,
so 400 in your hands.
Did we do any research on the Guinness Book of World Records?
Google it.
All right, because I think we can hit it, we can hit it.
Oh, Zach, you only need like a thousand away.
What are you talking about?
2,188.
We have 4,000 needles that we brought.
Go for it, Zach.
You can win, but I'm not, I haven't trained for this.
Here's the thing is that if Guinness isn't here,
then it's not an official record.
Kaelin, call Guinness.
You know, we're just like,
oh, all you have to do is double it and then sum.
That's a thousand more than we were planning.
There are people who get this treatment
and they get so used to it, they start texting,
they start scratching their face.
How, what are you talking about?
How would I possibly text?
Now, I do have a little itch on my nose
and I'm gonna guess that my hands are not an option.
I'll do it, I got you.
Yeah, Kwesi, it's kind of like, it's my left side.
Your left side.
It is kind of like, not in the nostril,
but like, no, no, more to the middle.
Yeah, uh-huh.
Here, you just keep the finger and I'll rub.
I don't have nails, holy shit.
Thank you.
Yo, we're really good friends.
Oh my goodness, I got it.
I guess so.
The part that I'm doing right now here,
it helps your reproductive system.
Okay.
Okay, watch out.
Maybe we don't want to do that.
Maybe we don't want, maybe we want to inhibit it.
Maybe put it down the line, probably?
Maybe skip that one for a couple years?
The face, theoretically, won't be as sensitive
as the hands were, right?
It depends.
Parasympathetic, appear unsympathetic.
When there's too much stress, there's a disconnect.
We're trying to repair that communication.
Acupuncture can treat all different type of symptoms.
Of course, pain, back pain, neck pain,
but also it can treat like, insomnia, stress,
anxiety, infertility, and many more.
Oh, right here, you mean.
Oh, shit.
Oh.
Oh, shit.
I don't know why that spot affects me like that.
That was rough.
Oh.
You seem more calm.
Oh my goodness.
On your, needles in your face.
Well, this is the most expensive needle, anyway.
Oh, thank you.
Oh, the red ones are a bit more expensive, huh?
This is especially for when we do the facial acupuncture.
We try to use the finest, finest needles.
It's like the M.A. Leon Dior of needles.
You wanna take one?
Sure.
Can you put one on your forehead?
I have a facelift today.
All right.
Where is it, Kwasi?
Right in my forehead.
Huh.
How's it feel?
Well, that's different.
Huh.
Hey.
Let me see, Kwasi.
Hold this.
Hey, look at you.
Brothers.
Hey, look at us, we're the same.
Hey.
Oh, I'm sweating.
Most recently, we branched out
into more cosmetic side of acupuncture.
That takes a holistic approach to skin, anti-aging.
So it can make me more beautiful?
Yes, it does.
There are so many meridians that cover the face.
Cosmetic acupuncture, you can think of it
as like a natural Botox.
It feels like-
Rachel's jaw just dropped.
She's f***ing in.
So-
Say more, say more.
Say less, I'm in.
Basically, when you put like the needles on your face,
it moves your blood and qi.
We call it qi, which is energy, you know?
Promotes balancing.
Jeff, how are you?
I'm doing well, I mean-
Would you like one?
Sure.
I'll go for one.
You can keep the headphones on.
Are they on?
They're off.
Are they in?
No.
Oh, the headphones are off, yeah, yeah.
Are the needles in?
No?
There you go.
Oh, thank you.
What a great crown.
It'll make you think better.
Ear is a microsystem of the entire body.
So if you look at my ear,
you can imagine an upside down baby.
This is the spine.
Feet here, the organs in here.
So I'm able to treat like neck pain, back pain,
and go along.
And I'm also able to assess
if I can look at your ear patterns of disharmony
just by like the color and the pattern and all of that.
Tell me about my upside down baby.
Okay, let's see.
You have a little bit of stiffness in your back.
Yeah.
But if you feel this,
oh, it's gonna have me feel my ear.
Do you wanna feel my ear and feel his ear?
Yeah, sure.
So do you feel this right here?
Let me wipe my sweaty hands first.
Right here.
So a little right here,
this is like along the spine.
Along the spine.
And then you can feel his right here.
Press it down versus mine.
Well, yours is a little more bouncy.
Mine's like a softer.
His is stiffer.
So this is like his,
it shows like a little bit of tightness in his spine.
Acupuncture has been around over 2,000 to 3,000 years
and many countries have adopted it
and created their own systems.
The traditional medicine believe
that human being has the self-healing power.
Daily lifestyle or like a work related whatever,
we lost it.
And then, you know, traditional medicine,
we try to kind of recover those power.
I can't really react anymore.
So for the rest of the video,
Kwesi will be speaking on behalf of me.
I, Zachary Kornfeld, hereby bequeath my company
to Kwesi James.
Every time I make an eyebrow thing
and I'm really expressive with the eyebrows.
Oh, really Kwesi?
Really?
Yeah, that one needle's really doing it for you, huh?
Oh.
I want to put one in his ear too.
Sure, go for it.
This, okay, there's one in my lip, like lower lip.
And I can literally, if I use my tongue.
This one?
Uh-huh.
I could feel it like pushing into my mouth.
Oh yeah, it can go into the mouth.
So, what I'm going to do now.
I will say, zero awareness of any chronic pain right now.
Really?
I would say that my senses are a little preoccupied.
You know, when I got here, I was aware of my achy body.
I would say I'm no longer aware of it.
Okay, we got 20 needles in the right ear.
It looked like you're a giant
and the villagers hit you with bow and arrows.
To protect themselves.
Hi, Anjay.
Can you guess how many needles are in each of Zach's hands
without going over?
How are there so many in your hands?
I want to say, 70.
Oh, not even close.
70?
Not even close?
Way more, one more chance.
You're four.
Oh my God.
Your face.
Hi.
That's so scary.
It's so scary.
How many do you have in your face?
About 150.
Oh, you have some in your face.
Yeah, that's, oh great, I didn't see that.
Oh God, Zach, they're trembling.
And look at Klai's little ear.
Oh my God.
Wait, I know you've gotten acupuncture before.
Have you gotten it in like, all of these parts?
No!
So we have about 400 in the hands,
200 in the head, and then 100 in the legs.
So we have this much left that we'll put on your back.
Can you wink?
Time to rise.
We're gonna need to help you for sure.
So we're gonna start with this leg,
so you can scooch over.
Go ahead and scooch your buttocks.
Two, three.
How many were you gonna put on my back?
About 100.
Okay. Yeah, 100.
Four, four.
Actually, your hand is 300 each.
Yeah, because I realized I brought more,
and I didn't count it in my head,
because we brought a specific exact amount for the hands.
So this is 300.
300.
Oh, snap.
So we've already...
Oh, so we've already hit it.
So we've already passed 1,000?
Yeah, we're past it.
It's just another oops.
We're past 1,000?
We're past it, yeah.
Oh, because I brought more, but...
And then I brought more.
I used it all.
What an oopsie-doopsie.
Well, apparently we did it a little while ago.
600 in my hand, about 300 in my head and face,
100 down my back, 100 in my legs, and 100 in my chest.
Put that all together, math.
Today we came to find out how many needles
is too many needles.
Somewhere about an hour ago.
Okay, here we go.
Oh, my God.
Holy shit.
Oh, my God.
You guys are not reacting nearly enough.
Holy shit, I look crazy.
Oh, what the fuck?
Oh, wow.
Oh, this is fucking metal as shit.
Oh, I look so hardcore.
It's like a new outfit from Hot Topic.
I don't know that this is the way
to get the benefits of acupuncture,
but hopefully if this horrific experience
showed you something, it's that you don't have to fear it.
Thanks for watching.
Apologies for your new sleep paralysis demon.
Imagine you wake up in the middle of the night
at the end of your bed, you just see.
I was thinking about the title for this video
and I came up with One Man, A Thousand Needles,
and now I realize it's kind of the same titling convention
as Two Girls, One Cup.
Can't believe my mom's laughing.
