【Classical music and nature 古典音樂小站】Johann Sebastian Bach: 15 Sinfonias, BWV 787-801 - 10. Sinfonia in G major, BWV 796. This beautiful piece was played by Randolph Hokanson. It has Creative Commons license (CC BY-SA 3.0 Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported, https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/), and is provided through www.musopen.org.
The two-part pieces were originally entitled 'Praeambulum' and the three-part 'Fantasia'; they formed part of Wilhelm Friedemann Bach's piano book of 1720. In 1723, Bach copied them again in fair copy - in a new arrangement and with the new title, with numerous additional ornaments and a few corrections and rhythmic changes. There are also two other copies, one by an unknown pupil of Bach's, probably from around 1723, and a copy by Heinrich Nikolaus Gerber from 1725, both of which are richly ornamented.
In his fair copy of 1723, Bach arranged the Inventions and Symphonies in ascending order by key. Unlike the Well-Tempered Clavier, there are no pieces in keys that were uncommon at the time.
The video was captured by Simone Schlegel in Switzerland and was edited by Wenjing Ma.
