La Lobera, also known as "The Wolf's Den," is a natural sea lion sanctuary located near the town of El Rosario in Baja California, Mexico. It is a large, volcanic crater open to the ocean, which has formed a unique coastal environment that attracts sea lions and other marine wildlife. La Lobera got its name because the sea lions are often referred to as "lobos marinos" or "sea wolves" in Spanish.

This hidden gem is not as well-known as other tourist destinations in Baja California, but it has gained popularity in recent years due to its stunning views, crystal-clear waters, and the opportunity to observe sea lions in their natural habitat. Visitors can walk along the rim of the crater to enjoy panoramic views of the ocean and watch sea lions basking on the rocks below. The area also serves as a habitat for various bird species, making it an ideal destination for birdwatching enthusiasts.

To reach La Lobera, visitors can take a dirt road off Mexico Highway 1, approximately 22 miles south of El Rosario. The road is usually accessible with a regular car, but it's recommended to use a high-clearance vehicle or an all-terrain vehicle to ensure a smoother journey. Visitors should also be aware that there are no facilities, such as restrooms or restaurants, at La Lobera, so it's important to come prepared with necessary supplies like water, snacks, and sun protection.
