Hey, guys! Welcome to Kimono mom's Kitchen!
I'm Moe and...
This is Sutan!
Today, we're going to show you how to make Omurice.
Omurice is Sutan's favorite!
Today, we'll make two kinds of Omurice.
One is standard Omurice, and another one is vegan Omurice.
So, watch till the end how I make vegan egg omelette.
All right! Let's get started!
Where is Sutan?
-"I'm waiting for you, mom."
Are you ready?
-"Yes, I'm ready."
Today is Sunday, but Sutan said to me this morning,
Mom, I want to make Omurice.
She said she wanted to make Omurice.
Sutan's favorite food is Omurice.
Use half an onion.
If it's too small, use one whole onion.
Today, I'm going to do everything in English.
Can I start to speak English?
-"Yes!"
Okay, let's go!
Chop the onion.
-"So good!"
So good!
Yeah, you can speak English!
These are frozen leftover rice.
So, here.
I use easy frozen rice,
but of course, fresh cooked rice is also good.
Fry on here.
Ketchup.
And umami sauce.
I'm sure many of you don't have it yet,
so you don't have to use it.
But, if you have umami sauce already,
this sauce makes your Omurice perfect.
This boosts umami to your Omurice.
So, use it.
What are you doing?
-"I'm done!"
Thank you!
Can you give me your hand?
-"What did you say?"
-"What did my friend say?"
I forgot to speak English!
-"Ahhh!"
I forgot to speak English!
Hello!
-"My name is Sutan."
How are you?
-"Yaba!"
Why?
How are you?
-"It's time to sleep, so..."
You're not a baby anymore,
so I can't cook with you in my arms.
Are you a baby today?
Who was crying with you in my arms?
-"Sutan!"
Why were you crying?
Did you charge your phone?
-"12, 13, 14, 15!"
Hi guys!
I was in New York until yesterday.
I recently took a lesson on English
that I use when I travel abroad.
So, I finally have the courage to travel alone.
In today's Omurice video,
I was talking to Sutan while cooking,
so I spoke in Japanese a lot.
But recently,
Sutan is getting interested in English,
and I'm doing it,
so she seems to understand it little by little.
The reason why I'm taking lessons in Italki is
that I can choose the best lesson for me
and I can talk to the native speaker teacher.
I've been really busy lately,
so I like that I can take lessons anywhere, anytime.
Also, like American English, British English,
and Australian English,
among more than 30,000 Italki teachers,
I can choose the teacher I want,
and I can choose the time of day, too.
And I pay for each lesson,
so it's not a fee,
and I don't have any restrictions,
so I can easily take lessons from $5.
Let's see how I've been doing lately.
Do you feel like your understanding,
like listening, is better than your speaking?
Yes, yes, that's exactly, yeah.
I can listen, but I cannot speak out.
Yeah, you can't always get the words
that you want to come out.
And I cannot express my feelings.
I'm working hard to learn English now,
but I've heard that there are a lot of people
who watch my videos and learn Japanese.
If you watch my videos and want to speak Japanese,
please try Italki.
The first lesson from Italki
is a $5 off promo code,
so it seems that up to 50 people can apply for this,
so please check the link in the description
and try it out.
Beat well the egg to make smooth surface omurice.
So good.
Completely white porridge is mixed.
To finely chop the chicken thigh,
roll the skin around and put it inside.
Let's do it.
Cut it into small pieces.
The chicken is cut.
Seasoning is so simple.
Butter, ketchup, and umami sauce.
I saw on Instagram,
there was a comment saying,
the rice is wrapped in a thin sheet and frozen,
and the comment was full of comments
like, how can you freeze the rice?
For me, it was natural to freeze the leftover rice,
but I wonder if it's different in everyone's country.
How do you eat leftover rice?
It's less than cooked,
but it can be stored deliciously to some extent.
I use it for omurice,
mixed rice,
and when I make fried rice.
Onions.
When the butter is mixed with the onions,
add the chicken.
Fried onion and chicken in butter.
Salt and pepper.
It is also recommended to add finely chopped vegetables
that your children do not eat.
This is one of the key points.
Put the ketchup in the middle of the pot.
Stir it until the ketchup is boiling.
This will remove the acidity of the ketchup
and increase the sweetness.
Add 1 tablespoon of umami sauce.
Add about 1 tablespoon.
When it blends into the whole,
add the leftover rice.
Mix until the rice is evenly colored.
It's done.
Next, I recommend a non-stick coated frying pan
when making eggs.
A heat-resistant spatula.
This will shape the eggs like this,
so these two are two tools that can make omurice well.
Cooking oil.
Apply the oil evenly.
Add 2 eggs.
I think it will swell up like this,
so mix it roughly.
When it is not completely solidified,
add the rice.
Wrap the rice around it.
It's done.
Confirm that it moves.
Confirm.
Change the frying pan.
Put the plate diagonally.
It's in a great shape.
While it's hot,
put it in.
Then...
Oh, I did it a little.
Omurice is ready.
This is the leftover tofu I made miso soup for lunch.
I'm going to make vegan omurice with this.
Put the tofu in.
Add the egg.
Add the flour to the tofu and give it an egg color with turmeric.
I use glutinous rice flour to give it an egg-like texture,
but you can also use regular flour.
Spread it all over and use low heat so it doesn't burn.
Cover and cook.
Put the rice on top.
I'm using chicken now,
but please think it's different.
Oh, it looks delicious.
Ready, set, go.
Oh, it's torn, but it looks good.
Shape it like omurice.
Oh, I did it.
Oh, I should have used kitchen paper.
Oh my god.
Please use kitchen paper to shape it.
It's done. I'm going to make the sauce.
You can just pour ketchup on the sauce,
but I have a little trick.
If you do this, it will be even more delicious.
Put butter and ketchup in a small pot.
About this much?
Put it in and bring to a boil.
This is a must-try omurice sauce.
It's done.
Su-chan, do you want ketchup?
Do you want to draw it yourself?
Su-chan doesn't have anything to draw on her own.
Omurice is done!
It looks delicious.
Hehehe
Something is sticking out.
I'm sorry.
Ta-da!
This is the omurice that Su-chan requested.
Yay!
Oh, that's how you do it.
Cute.
It looks like a flower.
Ready?
Itadakimasu!
Is it good?
I'm glad you like it.
I want to eat it too.
Itadakimasu!
It's delicious.
It smells like eggs.
It's delicious.
There are many ways to make it.
What's popular on social media right now is
making an omelette,
putting it on top of the rice,
cutting it,
and making a fluffy omelette.
I like omurice with thin omelette like this.
I make most of this omurice at home.
Sometimes it's a hassle to roll the omelette.
In that case, put the ketchup-flavored rice in a heat-resistant container,
spread it out,
pour the beaten egg on top of it,
toast it in a toaster or oven,
and you can make an omelette without rolling the omelette.
I do that a lot.
I don't like mushrooms very much these days.
If I put it in the omelette,
I would eat it without realizing it.
I'm going to eat a vegan omelette.
If you can't eat omelette,
or if you can't eat eggs,
you can eat a vegan omelette.
And kids have a lot of egg allergies.
It's a good idea.
Kids want to eat the same thing, right?
I want to see this kind of omelette in anime.
I want to eat it when I see it on SNS.
It's the same color and shape.
I think it's good.
Let's say bye-bye.
Bye-bye!
See you!
Thank you for watching.
See you next week.
What kind of video will it be?
Cooking video?
See you!
I told you I wanted to do cooking today.
I know.
I'm sorry.
It's very dry.
See you!
Let's say bye-bye to everyone.
See you!
Bye-bye!
