The Painting of Rivers and Mountains over a Thousand Miles is a silk color painting created by Wang Ximeng of the Northern Song Dynasty, measuring 51.5cm in length; It is 1191.5cm across and is now collected in Palace Museum in Beijing.

This work is in the form of a long scroll, based on tradition, with a meticulous and nuanced painting. The vast rivers and undulating mountains create a beautiful landscape of Jiangnan. The static scenery of fishing villages, wild markets, water pavilions, thatched cottages, and Shuimo Long Bridge is interspersed with dynamic scenes such as fishing, boating, playing, and markets, with a perfect combination of motion and stillness. In the portrayal of the characters in this work, it is extremely delicate and nuanced, with a vivid expression. With a gentle touch of the pen, the flying bird appears to spread its wings and soar.
