Report:
On October 25, 2024, Cpl. Taylor Elkins advised me that he witnessed four motorcycles on Interstate 49, traveling over 90
MPH. I traveled northbound on Interstate 49, I located a motorcycle matching description Cpl. Elkins had given. I traveled to
Elm Springs Road positioning myself behind the motorcycle to initiate a traffic stop. The motorcycle accelerated running the
red light and traveling northbound on Interstate 49. The motorcycle continued to flee northbound on Interstate 49 at speeds in
excess of 130 mph. The motorcycle used all three lanes of traffic, driving with no due regard for other traffic. The motorcycle
continued northbound taking the 83-mile mark exit, but traveled through a red light and got back on Interstate 49 northbound.
The motorcycle then took the 85-mile marker exit and traveled east on Walnut Street before going north on 46th Street. The
motorcycle continued to drive in a reckless manner and at excessive speeds. The motorcycle then turned east on Olive street.
The motorcycle continued east driving eastbound in the westbound lane of Olive Street and again running a red light. I was
able to pull beside the motorcycle but he struck the rear left side of my patrol car and continued eastbound. As the motorcycle
approached the 8th street intersection he traveled head on with a westbound vehicle and I was able to pull beside him and
push the motorcycle into the curb causing the driver to wreck out.
I exited my patrol car and began giving verbal commands to the driver. The driver refused and I attempted to handcuff him but
he began to resist. I was able to keep control of the drivers arms but he continued struggle. I stood up and the driver began to
obey commands and I was able to take him into custody. The driver, identified as, Gabrial Medina-Garcia stated he was not
hurt but the driver was checked by EMS on scene and refused to be transported.
TFC. Matthew Walker transported Medina-Garcia to the Washington County Detention Center. Medina-Garcia was charged
